Gotta be battered sausage, chips, curry sauce and mushy peas for me. I don’t mix the sauces. I eat the peas and dip the curry sauce.

The chips from this one are not veggy. They are cooked in beef dripping. Very tasty

We don't really have chippys like just usual chippys all ours mostly all sell Chinese food too, very rare to just find your typical fish chips Sausages pies ect, although they are available every time I have a chippy it ends up being special fried rice or special chow mein, curry and some sui mai 🤤

My in laws however have proper traditional chippys and Chinese takeaway separate and I love fish and chips with scraps / bits when there.... never ever heard scraps/bits until I met my husband and when he asks for it here no chippy ever know what he means but good old fish, chips, mushy peas, and a barm (to me) I have to say tea cake so they understand me there though.

I could easily eat either of those right now 🤤 🤤

Chips, mayo and a pickled egg (easily pleased)

Damn you, I've just scrolled carefully through 100 posts to be the first to proudly proclaim chips and a PICKLED EGG and you beat me to it!

I always share a haddock, chips and a smokey with my husband so I don’t have to choose between them 😂 curry sauce on the side

Rissole and chips for me. If you don't have rissoles in your part of the country you are missing out

South Wales?
I loves a cheese rissole, I does.

Sadly I live far away now.

Cod, chips, scraps, and an obscene amount of salt and vinegar. Put on vinegar until you think it's way to much, then keep going for another 10 seconds, then lots of salt. Then a bit more salt.

Cheersmedears123 · 02/07/2024 22:03

Our local does a banging chicken and chips with a big tub of gravy 😋

Pedallleur · 02/07/2024 22:06

Fish and chips. That's it but my daughter would want a scallop. Ideally both fish and chips freshly done not sat for 20 mins

caringcarer · 02/07/2024 22:17

Cod and small portion of chips. Thanks!

LilBowWow · 02/07/2024 22:21

Chips, a roll, curry sauce and an apple tango.

Wizardcalledoz · 02/07/2024 22:22

Chicken share box - chicken tenders, chips, onion rings and a side of coleslaw

Chips and gravy and a smack (scallop). Double carbs, you say? Yep.

Swap the gravy for mushy peas and you have my exact order! I only really get to have it when I go back to the Midlands though; the scallop is depressingly rare in London. (And it gets bloody boring trying to explain that it’s not fish!)

When I do get to have a chippy tea back in the Midlands with my parents, my mother insists on going through this routine where she asks if I’m sure that’s all I want; their chip shop does do veggie burgers; maybe she could put a veggie burger in the oven for me while my dad fetches the chips if I don’t want one from the shop? I think at some point she’s decided my choice must be terribly bland and boring, despite the fact that I’ve been eating it perfectly happily for the best part of 40 years 😆

Amen! If you’re not clutching your chest, you haven’t added enough salt!

Smacks! Haven't had one of them for years.
