Do you vote differently to your husband/partner?

DP and I are voting differently in this election. It doesn't bother me because 1) it's his vote and 2) it's not drastically different; both left/centre left parties, so it's not a whole different mindset. He's not too bothered, although would prefer if I voted the same to give support to independence to hopefully get a referendum. I'm voting tactically to get an MP in to hopefully get a different government. Does anyone else vote differently to their partner, and if so, how different?

Probably vote the same.

We tend to agree mainly about politics but we usually vote differently. I find it interesting that although we agree and our life's are obviously very similar now, we both vote how you might expect us to when you look at the circumstances we were born into.

We're both centerist, and in fact we met studying history and politics at university. We don't always vote identically, but from similar values.

MIL and FIL vote Labour and Conservative respectively. Which is peculiar to witness, because MIL is a very generous person, whereas FIL would ask you for the money if you had a heart attack at his feet and it cost 10p to call the ambulance.

(I'm not saying all Labour/Con voters are like that, but it kind of epitomises their differences in values).

My parents always vote the same (so far as I know), and my mum is really dogmatic about it. She's leftist when it suits her. She used to volunteer for our LD MP until he supported an entirely justifiable taxation on her personal assets. Said MP also personally gave weight to a prolonged issue of police corruption on her behalf. Now she won't countenance voting for him because people like her might have to spend an extra couple of grand to hog local properties.

We vote the same/similar. We have the same political stance.
