Holly Willoughby case

Couldn't see a thread for this already but apologies if I'm doubling up!

The court case for the alleged kidnap plot has started and it sounds absolutely horrific. Whatever anyone feels about her as a 'sleb', this must have been incredibly frightening and you can really understood why she's hidden away for so long. It makes for some very grim reading.

Heard about it on the radio. Dangerous nutter had an answer for everything re items to support kidnap. Hope he goes away for a very long time

@Zinzinner in situations like this, it is absolutely ok to mention someone's physical characteristics. He reeks of someone who is too busy planning to torture and kill women to take care of his physical health or personal hygiene. Absolutely typical incel.

nah that’s just you being fatphobic.

It’s really telling that despite the list of horrific personality traits and actions, people still feel like they need to also mention the fact he was fat. Like the rest of it wasn’t bad enough.

it’s pathetic.

It's not that he's fat - it's the fact he admitted to spending 99.9% of his time at his computer and only left the house to go to medical appointments. He said he weighed 35 stone. He didn't drive, nor did the Irish nutcase who wanted to be involved, too. They both sounded incapable of actually carrying out the attack, though he had committed similar offences before and the Irish guy said he'd been in trouble with the police, too.

What I found so horrible was that there were chatrooms about abducting women - and presumably others. What a fucking cesspit.

Using this particular case for your 'fat phobia' crusade is probably not the best hill to die on.

MidnightPatrol · 30/06/2024 12:33

IMO these men hate women because women aren’t interested in them. Classic incel.

Unable to actually look in the mirror (literally as well as metaphorically) and understand why exactly women aren’t interested in them.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 30/06/2024 12:41

Seems his defence is winning you all over. He is trying to persuade the jury that he was incapable of carrying through the plans due to his weight and because he spent all his time online. Didn't seem to stop him trying to abduct women on trains.

KeirSpoutsTwaddle · 30/06/2024 12:52

It's appalling. Appalling he was free to plan and organise this disgusting crime.

And yes, poor Holly. No one should have to hear about that, I hope she has good support as it's been a hell of a year.

wheresthebigcarrot · 30/06/2024 13:19

@Zinzinner did I mention his weight? Or did you.......

imtryingtoleave · 30/06/2024 18:53

he is a slob yes i have said it and yes what women would find him attractive
i hope he is sentenced accordingly
im not a fan of holly but yeah it must be awful hearing what he wanted to do to her, just awful and imagine never feeling safe in the future either

Sunnyyy · 30/06/2024 18:56

It’s an incredibly disturbing case giving a window into some people’s (mostly mens’s) deprivation.

FamouslyFrothy · 01/07/2024 07:11

Yes, whether he was a fantasist or would actually have carried it off, it's just a horrific insight into an incredibly dark world. So frightening.

OP posts:
CormorantStrikesBack · 01/07/2024 07:26

I’m worried his weight will actually be a deciding factor and that his defence of being too fat/unfit to carry this out and it was all just fantasy will be believed.

lemons222 · 01/07/2024 16:21

Just listened to todays trial podcast and the jury have been made aware of his previous convictions so hopefully he'll be getting a serious sentence not like the pathetic ones he's had previously

Onacuctustree · 04/07/2024 10:00

It's the fact that to him, kidnapping , raping then killing a women is JUST chat.
Do you think there are forums for random women to meet each other and describe their fantasy about kidnapping and killing a celeb man? Plan it out?
I would be surprised.

FamouslyFrothy · 04/07/2024 19:29

So a guilty result! And he apparently cried when the verdict was returned.. though I fear it wasn't remorseful tears, rather tears over what he could expect in prison.

Men on forums like this, thinking and discussing these ideas are truly scum, it's horrifying.

OP posts:
TheShellBeach · 04/07/2024 19:32

I'm very glad he was convicted.

I've read somewhere previously that the numbers of women committing adultery is surprisingly high, simply because women are better at keeping things discreet. So in that vein, could it be that possibly there are women out there thinking / planning dark things, but maybe they're smarter about who they share their thoughts with?

Blueemeraldagain · 04/07/2024 19:41

It’s worth keeping in mind that he used his size/weight as part of his defence. He (essentially) claimed he was too fat to realistically carry out his plan.

Pedallleur · 04/07/2024 20:07

Don't think you'll find chats where women are planning torture, rape and murder because someone on TV is teasing them. Nor locking their child in a basement for years eg Josef Fritzel. That Ian Gribben character who wants women basically exterminated except for a breeding pool. These people piss in the same pot and I suspect there are a lot of them

iloveallthis · 12/07/2024 15:13

This whole case is horrifying.

MuscariFan · 12/07/2024 15:17

So, a life sentence for this loathsome individual.

I'm pleased but surprised, given that some who do actually murder seem to be treated more leniently. What a disturbing case even from the bits the public knows, and there's clearly lots more that I'm very glad I don't have to know.

I agree that the number of women committing adultery is (not suprisingly) high - it seems to be the norm now, infidelity, whereas years ago it was normal to be faithful.

However, I don't think those women are on the internet plotting to rape and kidnap men but just haven't been caught yet.

If such women keep their thoughts entirely to themselves, we can never know whether they exist - however, if they are capable of keeping it truly private, they are probably capable of never acting on them. The need to share this sort of thing online is a step down the path of the need to commit the acts in real life.

It's abhorrent that she had to go through this - learning what he planned. Even worse that he was free at all after his previous behaviours. The details are sickening. I hope he is locked up for decades to be honest.

That's what struck me too - they knew what he was that he was fixated on his ghastly fantasy and would likely try.again - and still they turned him loose. It took an American FBI agent to track him and contact our police.
Why was he out running free?
