Someone take pity on me and explain all these Taylor Swift stuff before I lose my mind

I know I’m hugely behind the curve on all this but teenage daughters are fickle. Can someone just confirm I have the following correct?

  1. We don’t have a ‘code’ and I presume we can’t get one now.
  2. Even if some turn up on Ticketmaster, I wouldn’t be able to buy them without a code
  3. Axs is the other official site and you don’t need a code to buy them there
  4. Stubhub, Viagogo and people on Facebook should not be trusted and don’t use them
  5. Twickets would be safe to buy, should some appear
  6. I’m more likely to marry Henry Cavill than I am getting tickets now

Thank you ladies!

Oh goodness, people are very territorial over TS 😆
I registered for a pre sale code, didn't buy the album, got one then was in an online queue for about 20 mins and got 2 tickets for Wembley.
Not particularly bothered if I got tickets or not and though I'm looking forward to going it's not the most important thing in my life! So, for someone who's not super bothered I managed to get tickets with minimum fuss and get all these people who say they are super fans didn't...

OhHelloMiss · 23/06/2024 20:13

I also don't understand all this last minute angst and handwringing over tickets for DD's!!!

You do realise that people who registered and didn’t receive codes the first time are actually receiving codes the day before the London concerts from ticket master and axs and getting another chance.

TeenLifeMum · 23/06/2024 23:06

That said, dh just looked and tickets in the block were I’m in August are currently selling for £1200 each (we paid £78 and have 4). That’s nuts.

Pregnantmama93 · 23/06/2024 23:11

For me Viagogo done exaclty the same. I purchased my tickets got the confirmation went to the 02 to be told it doesnt work. Even they ssid they would not recommend it. Customer service was absolutely useless and ended up losing £150. It wasn't for a TS show but still.@DD6798

Moominbananas · 23/06/2024 23:12

I’m another one who’s DD wasn’t a fan when the tickets were originally announced but she’s a massive fan now. I’ve tried to get last minute tickets to all the UK concerts so far but I’ve not managed to get any. If anyone has a code left for 2 tickets for wembley that they’d be willing to share with me, I’d be eternally grateful!

Doteycat · 23/06/2024 21:25

No you are incorrect.
Anyone could get a code. It was random
Dear.
Telling anyone they need to earn their stripes is utter bollox. Dear.

She’s not incorrect though.
If you bought the Midnights album in the presale, you got first dibs on the Eras tickets.
Many of us did that AND registered for the randomly allocated codes to get all bases covered. Dear.

OhHelloMiss · 23/06/2024 23:17

@TeenLifeMum

Yeah. But op didn't so 🤷‍♀️

Justrelax · 23/06/2024 23:25

WTF is this thread?! You're coming across unhinged, a few of you.

Earn your stripes... Madness. She's a good singer singing some good songs. I like her well enough, got a code easily. It's not some kind of special prize for the most obsessed.

EnglishBluebell · 23/06/2024 23:28

captureitrememberit · 23/06/2024 20:57

In the nicest way possible, the Midnights presale was the way for actual swifties to get tickets. It was free, incredibly easy, and meant me and my DD who have been hardcore swifties for over 10 years could get multiple Eras tickets very very easily. The midnights presale meant genuine swifties could get tickets. If she didn't even care about Taylor a year ago, there are people who deserve tickets more and they are probably the people who got them. I'm sorry but it's the truthBlush I hope your DD sticks behind her though and becomes a huge Swiftie, it's the greatest music fandom in the world , and she'll definitely be able to see her in the future! You can absolutely try and get resale tickets too but they're certainly not guaranteed to work.

You do realise some girls weren't old enough to know who she was a year ago! 🙄🤦‍♀️ Why are you trying to gate keep a tweeny pop singer?!

EnglishBluebell · 23/06/2024 23:30

@RedYellowPinkGreenPurpleOrangeBlue 30 years old and listening to tweeny cheesy pop? Wow that's beyond sad.

Fizbosshoes · 23/06/2024 23:35

I got a code sent by ticket master on Thursday....but I didn't see it til Friday as I was totally not expecting an email from ticketmaster.....so of course by Friday they were sold out.
I did get tickets ages ago for DD and friends via a presale code she had, but I wanted to go too!

OnAndOnAndonAgain · 23/06/2024 21:26

There's some right saddos about, grown adults thinking thet deserve tickets more than young kids

You do know her music isn't actually for young kids?

She says fuck in half of her new songs and has one about wanking to Matty Healy. Not exactly Kidz Bop

GellerYeller · 23/06/2024 23:40

Wasn’t the code system introduced because Ticketmaster sold all the USA dates by error in the presale and there were none available for the actual sale dates a few days later? I thought it was introduced as a fairer way of ensuring as many fans as possible had a chance. Also probably to avoid demand swamping the servers and crashing the sites. They were sold at intervals across a few days.
Also not everyone with a code got a chance of buying, some went on waiting lists.
I saw an article online which said that the US arm of Ticketmaster sets prices according to demand so for many, it’s cheaper to fly to Europe than buy tickets for US dates. Which is why we didn’t expect to get London.

So do most songs out there , its been that way forever

Funny how so many pre teens and teens seem to be fans then, including a few young royals by the looks of it

Like I said , some right saddos

Foxlover46 · 24/06/2024 00:36

Swifties are known to be the fiercest fan base and I see it on here tonight 😅
I am die hard into machine gun Kelly , we fans are known as EST. , no fandom is a patch on the swifties

CatTormentor · 24/06/2024 01:41

’Swifties’ are bloody weird! Although I can’t complain, I got tickets easily as was asked to sign up by a colleague. I’ve never been bothered about her and managed to get multiple, a friend of an acquaintance heard I got them and offered me x12 face value for them.

I’ve always enjoyed Taylor Swift songs when I heard her songs but never bought an album. I was invited to the Eras tour in NYC and Philadelphia and they were both fantastic. Not enough to make me call myself a “Swiftie” but then again I am a grown woman with a life!

Luckily “earning your stripes” thing is a joke. Liking a musical artist is not like a civil service position! Trust me if you have $trip£s you don’t need to embarass yourself with that nonsense.

CalicoPusscat · 24/06/2024 02:41

I'm going to have to listen to her on YouTube. Don't know much of her stuff.

If I take a liking to her then I swear, you are all equipping me with a ticket next year for the sheer corruption

SleepingStandingUp · 24/06/2024 02:41

Fulshaw · 23/06/2024 20:16

Probably because DDs change their minds every five minutes

I wouldn't be paying resale prices for a teen who changes their mind every five minutes

Livinginaclock · 24/06/2024 03:11

Crikey, I thought I was a mad fan, (Harry Styles), but gatekeeping tickets, declaring yourself to be a better fan than others?
Nah, that's nuts.
I'm too old for that, I'll do all the daft stuff, and have the means to, but that's just teenage mean girl crap.

wingingit1987 · 24/06/2024 03:17

I managed to get AXS resale about 7/8 weeks before she played murrayfield. It does close to resale closer to the event date though.

fieldsofbutterflies · 24/06/2024 06:55

Some of you so-called "swifties" really are acting like a bunch of teenage bullies.

BadSkiingMum · 24/06/2024 07:02

The attitude of a couple of the ‘Swifties’ on here is mind boggling.

No one ‘deserves’ a ticket more than anyone else. It’s a commercial transaction.

I’m a ‘superfan’ of a certain female author. I would love to have met her ‘live’, but the fact that she died over 200 years ago means that I really am far too late to the party! But it doesn’t mean that I deserve to enjoy her work any the less than people who came before me, or even the people who actually met her in her lifetime.

OP, I hope that you do get to go and that your DD loves it.
