For a bit of fun, have you ever heard a conversation or seen an exchange of messages that you're not supposed to but you can't help tuning into?

About a year ago I was next to an older guy on the tube who was typing out a furious email, presumably to an adult child, along the lines of 'Your grandfather would be ashamed, the businesses of [Family Name] has to be passed on....' and things along those lines. I just caught a glance of it and was transfixed. Serious family melodrama! The whole tone of it was like something from a vintage TV series, I honestly didn't think anyone actually talked (typed?) like that anymore.

One overheard conversation that stuck with me - I was in my early 20s, just arrived in the UK, and went with my ex BF to this really big, expensive antique shop full of furniture and anything you can think of, in the middle of nowhere - and there was a couple of older posh tweed wearing country type looking people, with the guy saying, with disgust in his voice - "this place is awful, everything is either twee or vulgar!" It shocked me as I was absolutely in love with a lot of stuff there. We ended up buying a huge fireplace mirror in a gilded frame for our house.

But, looking back at it now, I think the guy was right. It was twee and vulgar! ))

Years ago in Herne Bay on a sunny afternoon, suited and booted man on his mobile - "Yup... Yup... That's okay, I'm in the office right now...". Let's hope the called couldn't hear the very vociferous seagulls!

I often think people must think I'm at the beach when I call from my city centre office in Glasgow. So many seagulls outside every day and they are LOUD! 😄

In a very nice hotel in the South-West and a family with older teenagers were just finishing up their meal.

Waiter: "Liquors sir?"

Teenage boy: "Dad, tell him to lick his own!"
