I looked at the cigarette and asked myself “seriously who is stronger me or that little white stick.”
just got through the days went to bed early. Had coffee whenever I would’ve had a cigarette. Had to beat that addiction later.

I’m afraid to say, only after pneumonia and pleurisy landed me in hospital for 3 weeks. During the first week or so I was sufficiently ill that I didn’t even think about a fag, and after that I no longer even wanted one.

My dad. My brother started smoking and dad was telling what a hiding to nothing it was. 17 year old brother said he'd been smoking for ages and couldn't give up. Dad said he'd been smoking for 40 years and could give up ... never smoked again.

Moral of the story ... just do it.

This.

I just stopped. I decided I was going to and I did it. If you rely on external crutches like patches then you'll never do it. You need to take responsibility for it and use your willpower.

You choose to stop.

My father in law was diagnosed with cancer, he went from chain smoking to stopping overnight.

My db smoked a lot, he also managed to quit overnight when he had a heart attack.

It's a shame that they didn't choose to quit when they were healthy and that they waited for a serious health issue before making that choice.

I smoked 20 a day for 50 years. Stopped dead (forgive the pun!) once I learnt it's not physically addictive. It's not.

If you’re trying to quit vaping, PuffStats is a solid free app to have. It tracks your puffs and nicotine levels, which makes cutting back feel way more manageable. You can find it at PuffStats.com.

Cold turkey was the only thing that worked for me.

Me too. I had a stroke and was in hospital for three months. Of course I wasn't allowed to smoke. I promise you, stopping smoking is easier than you think if you keep your children's faces in front of you!
