Women are better than men...discuss

Evidence:

Number 1
The guy I've been seeing for over 2 years made a personal joke via message that really missed the mark yesterday morning. My response was clear I wasn't impressed. Instead of replying immediately, he left it until this morning to apologise. His reason was that he was just off to see someone he hadn't seen for years, he was focused on that, and wanted to give a reply the consideration it deserved. He "didn't think" of a quick response of "I'm sorry, chat later".

Women would hate to think they'd upset their friend and would immediately apologise, right? I would not be able to focus on the meet up, knowing I'd upset someone and hadn't apologised for doing so.

Number 2

I was married 20 years. Divorced 3. My ex husband has decided that buggering off to live in the US with his new "fiancée" (aka holiday romance he has spent 20 real life days with) while his daughter does her A levels and goes to university is a good idea. When we split, he didn't buy a property with a bedroom for her, as she said she didn't want to live with him. (He cheated repeatedly, so she was hurting when she said that) She sees him about twice a year.

Women would never leave the country with their children at such a critical time. Women would buy a property with a bedroom for their child, to show them they were always welcome and hoping they would change their mind. Women would pursue their daughter rather than get cross with them for not seeing them.

Number 3

A male friend told me about ex buggering off. He then witters on about his daughter maybe being interested in buying said property, but how she doesn't have a clue about how expensive property is.

Women would have registered my surprise and checked in with the concerned mother to help them process how this news would affect her children.

This is just from today.

Any more examples where you can show women are better than men?

Better is a catch all term.

Men are better at sports

Women are better at humanity and compassion as the demograph of crime would show and a lot of women’s crime is because a man made her do it

Churchview · 20/05/2024 09:02

If you think like this OP why were you married to a man for 20 years, in a relationship with a man for 2 years and why do you have male friends. I mean, there are plenty of women you could be spending your time with instead.

Your questions sort of assume that women are only 'better' because they spend their entire lives contorting themselves to consider the feelings, needs, reactions and emotions of others.

Because it can take a very long time to see someone for truly who they are when you love them. I was with someone 25 years and i was that busy etc that i didnt see the abuse until things calmed a bit. So that could be why OP was with someone so long.

Churchview · 20/05/2024 09:08

@Loubelle70 I'm so sorry you suffered that and admire you for breaking free of it. The thing with the OP is that she's not just criticising that one partner, but all men and yet she still willingly seeks out their company. I wonder why she does that if she doesn't rate men.

Dressage, gymnastics etc women excel more than men.

SoupDragon · 20/05/2024 09:15

As a mother of sons (and a daughter) I hate this shit.

No, women are not better than men.

MaryMaryVeryContrary · 20/05/2024 09:30

In my opinion if we look at the quality of a human being, men tend to cluster around the two extreme ends and women around the middle.

There’s no doubt men are more likely to be killers, rapists and criminals. None at all. But equally the most intelligent person in the world is more likely to be a man than a woman IMO, and when it comes to acts of heroism/strength/intelligence men will outperform the women as a whole. A good man is also a bit like a Labrador - loyal, straightforward and hard working.

Women are less threatening, less dangerous and more sociable, but they tend to be a bit more sly, cunning and jealous. The world would be more peaceful with women in but it would be slower and there would be a lack of strength and direction.

I now await my pile on where I’m told that’s all a load of rubbish by people who know a female Red Arrow who don’t understand what ‘as a whole’ means.

I think it’s been proven with equal access to education etc that women are more intelligent than men.

Despite the inequality for years, one thing is clear, boys are getting failed in the country as they are much more likely to turn to crime or suicide than women and more needs to be done to understand this and get in there early to prevent this.

In terms of overall performance, yes. Our girls school outperformed the boys (both grammars) consistently every year. But the top performing boy outperformed the top performing girl, if that makes sense. Hence the clustering.

Isitisit · 20/05/2024 09:43

I think there are probably equal numbers of arsehole men and women but that as men have more power in society, are physically stronger etc then the consequences of their arseholery often are worse.

See I disagree. I think male entitlement and the patriarchy means that there are more horrible men than women around.

I see it as Barbara from accounts may make snide comments and ostracise someone from the team, but ultimately can’t be too overtly areseholey without losing her job. CEO Kevin can do what he wants mostly with impunity.

arethereanyleftatall · 20/05/2024 09:58

Yanbu op and we need to be able to discuss this, and why it happens. You can see from many of the responses that for some women, no doubt those whose oestrogen is still flowing to blind them from reality, that no one is allowed to dare suggest such a thing. And that's despite the fact that prison stats clearly show that men are far more violent, the huge numbers of absent fathers shows the clear evidence of selfishness. We NEED to be able to accept this, so that we can look to ways to change it. I think males need more help during puberty. Whilst you have people saying 'oh no they're all wonderful' when our prisons ar stacked full of them, it's a huge part of the problem.
The trans issue for me has absolutely highlighted the huge misogyny that is ingrained in so many people - it is ONLY a profoundly misogynistic society that could countenance that men could be women if they wanted. And worse, people can't even see that.

chocolatecoveredpeanut · 20/05/2024 10:00

Well this is a red flag to the male posters on the site isn't it?
Wonder why you might possibly want to encourage that little corner of hell to spew forth?

Surely that's because Barbara is only in accounts and Kevin is a CEO ,and nothing to do with their sex?
When I wa a nurse, a lot of Senior managers both male and female were absolute twats
I have a theory that many senior managers in the NHS are psychopaths and that makes them able to do their job.

Ah I didn’t know this but I still wonder if the boy had better opportunities, less distractions etc.

I agree, it takes a certain type of woman to make it to the top. I couldn’t do it but hats off to those who can.

Isitisit · 20/05/2024 10:06

@x2boys

Well exactly, my point is that as men as a whole have more power in society the effects of arsehole men tend to be further reaching as a collective. Men can physically intimidate due to their strength and more of them have jobs that give them power over people whereas arsehole women collectively do less damage.

I’ve never met either but I know both of them made horrible decisions when at the top as advised by men and took a lot of backlash for it.
I’m more pissed off at having an out of touch billionaire in charge.

Individuals are irrelevant really. Some men are nice and some women aren't. But on a societal rather than individual level, men are probably worse overall. The prison numbers show us that

Oh come on, they were prime minister! Do you really think they can just blame the menz? Do you think even women in the highest role in the country are so weak and indecisive that everything they do is because they just did as they were told by the patriarchy? Nonsense, especially Thatcher who was absolute iron.
