DP has booked us a short weekend stay in London for my 50th in August. Really excited! What are your must dos? We're staying near Tower Bridge. Like good (but not to £££) food, history, Independent shops, people watching, good cocktails, not a show. It's been a long time since we've had childfree time, what would you suggest??

i'd suggest using the Saturday for the West end and the Sunday for staying local.

On Sunday, you could wander down to Petticoat Lane Market and try some of the foods there (the famous Brick Lane bagels). Or South of the river to Borough Market.

if you want to see a landmark, how about The Tower of London or HMS Belfast.

Jump on the DLR and have a ride on the cable car across the Thames. Wander around the Olympic Park and go to Westfield shopping centre.

If you like afternoon tea then a trip to B Bakery in Covent Garden is a must! Hands down the best I've had and I've tried alot!
You'll need to book though as they get sooo busy.
I believe they also do picnic boxes to take your afternoon tea away if you'd prefer to sit outside in a park something😊
