For me it's lighter evenings, but I also feel like to hide away and I like doing that Grin

I like just throwing a flowing dress on. No complicated clothes/multiple layers

People seem happier and more cheerful

Fanta Lemon 🍋

Holiday

Driving to see family with the air con on, busy blasting. Sun shining

Eating outside

Blue skies

Napping in bed with the sun streaming through the window

Wearing a summer dress and flip flops...so much quicker and easier than having to bundle up in coats and boots

Hoglet70 · 16/05/2024 19:56

No socks/tights, just slipping flip-flops on to go outside. Pub gardens. Paddling in the sea.

TheDandyLion · 16/05/2024 19:56

Napping in a hammock

Napping in a hammock

I've got one in my Amazon basket but worried I will be greeted by numerous bugs if I nap in there?

Being able to stay at the park later with the kids and ice lollies in the garden with their water table out

TakeMe2Insanity · 16/05/2024 19:57

Play dates in the garden so the house stays clean!

treatsortreating · 16/05/2024 19:58

Yes to flip flops. I live in them all Summer and push my luck into late September cos I can't be bothered wearing anything else-

The smell of the air in the evening after a hot day. Ice cream by the sea. A summer dress, sun glasses.

SpringLobelia · 16/05/2024 20:01

I love the day becoming light around 3.30 am.

At the weekends I get a flask of coffee and go down to the beach to watch the dawn. I love it more than anything.

I also love a warmer afternoon where there is heat and moisture in the air and the air smells of grass clippings.

I love that I can put together a picnic and going to the beach with the Dcs and some cold sausages and ketchup and just lying on the green and watching everyone strip off and soak up the sun.

SpringLobelia · 16/05/2024 20:04

And when i worked in London and was heading for home in the evenings I loved the smell of the city releasing the warm air when the outside air became cool. It smelled of car and air conditioners and warm concrete and people and sandwich shops.

stayathomer · 16/05/2024 20:07

Not being cold!!!! The brightness, the birds, the general positivity about! Bright colours, cardigans (in the winter I love jumpers😉), skirts, that fab breeze that refreshes you just enough but doesn’t make you cold, collecting shells, sticking your feet in the sand by the water

LadyKenya · 16/05/2024 20:11

Waking up, and seeing the sun streaming in the window. Feeling the lovely warmth on my face, and wearing my lovely summer clothes. Those are just a few reasons, why I love summertime.

UnpickThePockets · 16/05/2024 20:12

Finishing work late (as I just have) and it’s still light.

My garden.

Rose wine in my garden.

Birdsong in the early morning and evensong. Blackbirds especially.

Sitting in pub gardens.

Lighter and fewer clothes.

Smiley people.

Spending the day sunbathing and then a long shower before strolling out for dinner.

Mairzydotes · 16/05/2024 20:15

Getting the washing dried outside.

Fewer / thinner clothes meaning less washing.

DisgruntledPelican · 16/05/2024 20:17

Scottish strawberries
gardening in the evening
early mornings when it’s still a bit cool but you don’t wear a jacket to walk to work as you won’t need it by 10am
barbecues
growing my veg and flowers
ice lollies for dessert
walks after dinner
beer gardens
water fights and paddling pools

greengreyblue · 16/05/2024 20:17

So many things.
Windows and doors open letting in the sounds of birds .
Lighter evenings meaning it feels safer to be out alone at night.
My garden bursting into life- I have lots of plants that emerge each year( hardy perennials) and it gives me so much joy to see them again.
Pub gardens.
Dry dog walks .
Summer wardrobe- I become more boho in the summer and wear more colour.

Elastoslax · 16/05/2024 20:23

Bright mornings.

As a morning person, they are such a treat. Bright evenings so you get more out of the day. I LOVE summer, even though where I live we don't get amazing weather, the light is lovely.

RuthW · 16/05/2024 20:30

My birthday. About the only thing good about my summer.

RampantIvy · 16/05/2024 20:34

Everything mentioned already, plus pottering in my garden on a warm summer's evening, deadheading my roses and inhaling the heavenly scent of my yellow honeysuckle.

GigiAnnna · 16/05/2024 20:36

Drying washing on the line. Not feeling cold of an evening and needing the heating on. Taking the kids the park after school for a couple of hours and wearing them out. Thunder storms.

weegiemum · 16/05/2024 20:54

I love the light nights.

I love the clear weather, sitting in my garden. I'm disabled and suffer significant nerve pain. The warmth and fresh air seem to make a huge difference to me, as well as the light helping my depression.

longdistanceclaraclara · 16/05/2024 21:37

Light mornings and evenings.

Warmth.

Eating outside and kids being able to play outside after dinner.

All of it really, I'm not a winter person!

DinnaeFashYersel · 16/05/2024 21:40

Light nights
Long days
Sunshine
Gardening
Being outdoors
Everyone is in a better mood

TheChosenTwo · 16/05/2024 22:19

All of it - and I never feel like there’s enough of it!

but especially:
Eating in the garden
lighter and longer feeling days
bright starts to the day to wake up to
pub gardens
no layering up
not having to always ‘bring the right coat’
kids having water fights
feeling like I still have a whole day after finishing work
Bbqs
socialising more outside in general
dh cutting the grass

what I dislike is that I have to consider taking a handbag about with me, I always just use pockets to store my essentials- phone and keys, but some of my summery clothes don’t have pockets and then I need to be lumbered with a bag which I detest! ‘Fortunately’ it only happens for about 3 days of the year where I genuinely don’t need layers!

Femalefootyfan · 16/05/2024 22:22

Enjoying my garden
Drinks in the pub garden or patio
wearing dresses
wearing shorts and a vest top
flip flops
the breeze coming through the open doors and windows
no tights
the sun warming me
