Today I was asked when my baby was due

Reader, my baby is two years old.

I am not pregnant.

Good start to wearing my summer wardrobe. I’m tall and a size 12, I was wearing a floaty dress but… ffs.

😬

I am asked this all the time and I am in my fifties!

Well you must look very youthful 😉

I've told this before under a previous username. Happened at a place I worked at. Random man (client visiting) asked woman who was passing by (she had nothing to do with his business) "When is it due?"
She gave him a strange look.
He asked again.
She said "My funeral? Oh in about x [number] months, probably. I have terminal stomach cancer"

Someone recently asked if I’d vacate a flip-up seat on the train so she could pop her bike there and the man opposite vocally complained because apparently a) she shouldn’t have a bike on the train at that time of day, and b) “you’ve also asked a pregnant lady to stand up for her journey”. I had a good look round for this pregnant lady before realising he meant me. Admittedly, carrying a spare tyre on top of separated abdominal muscles does give off a “6 months pregnant” vibe. I also have a habit of resting my hands on top of my podgy stomach which doesn’t help matters.

When I was offered a seat on the train recently I spent the rest of the journey wondering if the man thought I was pregnant or old.
DS had delayed speech when younger which made life trickier in a number of ways but I was very grateful for it on the day we were chatting to a neighbour and, as we walked off, DS said "she's got a baby in her tummy".

I’ve read that you shouldn’t assume a woman is pregnant unless you can actually see the baby coming out of her 😂 Sorry OP! I’m sure you look great xxx

A woman in work who I hardly knew once asked me whether I was pregnant. When I replied "no", she asked if I was sure.... Stupid cow

I'm with you- I've had people ask several times over the last few months. Mortifying. Why do people even ask unless the baby is crowning 🙄

No, I think a lot of men are not familiar with the way menopausal women carry weight. Any tiny bit of fat goes directly to my tummy.

I'd get great joy from looking offended and saying "what baby?" And watching the awkwardness. Not a question to ask.

No doubt it's the style not the model. And if you do look pregnant, so what! You're beautiful as you are!

Reminds me of a woman who, when I was out with DC said something about them "Having a nice day with Grandma"
I told her that no, I was the mother.
She actually said, "Are you sure?" to me.
