If you’re a runner, how do you carry your phone?

Until recently, i have never run with my phone

however i have started an audiobook, and im desperate to continue it whilst on a run using my ear pods

I hate carrying anything when running so wondering what you do? i only have one item of running clothing with zip pocket for a phone, and it’s thermal. Given my local forecast tomorrow is 24… i’d rather not!

any recs that i can buy off amazon please!

Same

Ohmych · 10/05/2024 17:44

I used to put mine in my sports bra strap. It did get a bit sweaty at times probably not the best idea.

friskybivalves · 10/05/2024 17:45

Running belt or in my skort pocket.

@Mrcrabsleg 'Between my bra and sports bra 😄'
You wear 2 bras?

Chilli81 · 10/05/2024 17:46

Lots of leggings have a clever pocket along the thigh. I use these as it then doesn't jiggle.

I do - exactly for the reason that I have somewhere to tuck my phone in. It works for me 😄

I have a stretchy belt- it’s basically a lycra tube with slits in one side so you can stuff things in it. Holds my phone, keys and a pack of tissues comfortably, and sits still rather than shifting around like a bum bag tends to. I bought a size up as I find if more comfortable if it sits over my hips than around my waist. Cost about a tenner on Amazon.

circumventM · 10/05/2024 17:51

@Civilwarrior i have just purchased!

Will report back post delivery

Thanks all

I wear skorts from Flanci, they have leg pockets that are brilliant for this. Also shorts /capris/ leggings with the same if skorts aren't your thing.

Super comfy and beautiful original designs too 👌

TheSeasonalNameChange · 10/05/2024 17:52

I have an armband that I hate so I just wedge it in my bra like I thought everyone else did. Now eyeing up cheaper versions of flipbelts

BirthdayRainbow · 10/05/2024 17:53

Trousers from M and S have a pocket. I prefer that to an arm piece I have.

This is basically what a Flipbelt is, for the uninitiated. Mine also has a small pullout clip to secure your keys, and it's good if you're doing long runs and want to carry tablets/gels or anything like that. When it's really hot I run in just bra, Flipbelt and shorts.

Meadowfinch · 10/05/2024 17:54

I have an armband but find it annoying.

Leggings with a zip pocket across the back.

But normally I just don't take my phone. I prefer birdsong.

JoanDarc · 10/05/2024 17:56

I couldn’t run with one, my phone is huge. I ended up getting an Apple Watch instead of garmin and have one with a SIM card so can make a call in case of emergency (I’m a bit paranoid as run in lots of quiet country roads) and download my podcasts / music to Spotify. I did have music on my garmin but found it quite glitchy to do.

circumventM · 10/05/2024 18:02

wait could i download my audiobook on to my apple watch?!!! i don’t have internet on my watch

sorry i am dumb about phones and watches

Small running belt from Decathlon

westcountrywoman · 10/05/2024 18:03

Deep pocket on the leg of my leggings (Sweaty Betty Power or Zero Gravity Leggings).
Or - if I also need to carry my car keys - my Flipbelt.

LeaveTheClocksAlone · 10/05/2024 18:04

Armband. Velcro. Holds my phone and my keys all I need in my hand is a bottle of water. Four quid off Amazon
