Bubblebath that makes loads of bubbles

Creeperofhabit · 06/05/2024 10:56

Yes, I know it is bad for one's skin and everything else wrong with it 🤣 but now and again I just love a really bubbly bath.

Compared to when I were younger, quite possibly to do with changes in ingredients etc I've been totally unable to find any that creates a lot of bubbles/foam.
I've tried luxury brands, expensive brands, average ones, very cheap ones (I thought they'd maybe have more detergent!) And still dissatisfied.

Any recommendations please?

A teaspoon of fairy liquid

PlatinumBrunette · 06/05/2024 10:59

Hard or soft water makes a huge difference.
My water’s really hard, and I can’t get bubbles unless I force the issue. Molton Brown is about the best I’ve found. I miss bubble baths!

CoffeeBeansGalore · 06/05/2024 10:59

L'Occitane Lavender bath foam. It's gorgeous. Although I'm in a soft water area which does make a difference.

Scampuss · 06/05/2024 11:05

Badedas gives the most bubbles.

Creeperofhabit · 06/05/2024 11:05

Thank you
I'm in the North-ish so should be soft water I think.
I'll try molten brown, thinking back I've had some of the better baths in hotel rooms and that's one of their favoured brands! And maybe I ws in harder water areas then. I'll L-loccintane too. This will make my life a little bit happier!

I have soft water, a good dollop of Radox bubble bath does the trick!

Bananadramallamas · 06/05/2024 11:08

Sanctuary spa gives a lot of bubbles, you only need a little bit. Hard water here.

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 06/05/2024 11:08

Badedas for sure. A little pricey but worth it . A tiny bit and it lasts ages because unlike radox etc you don't need loads

CountingCrones · 06/05/2024 12:04

I’m a cheapskate - I add Molton Brown for the lovely scent with a bit of fairy to get the enormous bubbles.

If I want lots of bubbles from Molton Briwn (or any of the expensive brands) I find I need a good glug.

Littletinytarzanswingingfromanosehair · 06/05/2024 12:07

I agree with Badedas.
Or good old Matey haha.

ThirdStorm · 06/05/2024 12:09

I’m a huge fan of radox, great flavours and plenty of bubbles. Boring but it never lets you down. I have to be careful on what I use of my skin and this has never given me a reaction or dried my skin out.

Matey is great 😁

Mabelface · 06/05/2024 12:18

Lush bubble bar slices. Each bar gives me around 6 very bubbly baths.

ODFOx · 06/05/2024 12:21

Matey: it cleans the bath as well! There ain't a mark in sight!

BertieBotts · 06/05/2024 12:32

You need to agitate the water too. I was in Lush once and they had this mad thing like a giant milk foamer which makes more bubbles in the bath!

whatisforteamum · 06/05/2024 12:56

Waitrose do a pink grapefruit one.
It's only 1.25 smells lush and is quite bubbly in our hard water area .

Came here to suggest these too

ErrolTheDragon · 06/05/2024 13:13

Badedas, I treated myself to a bottle (not huge) after Xmas.
I use radox shower gel as bath foam too, it's pretty good (soft water area)

Even within regions water hardness can vary. Yorkshire Water has a checker on their website (so I imagine other providers do too). Mine is 115.9 mg/l calcium, My mum who is 2½ miles away has only 39.6 mg/l calcium.

I too struggle with bubbles in bath or sink and have to agitate to get any semblance of froth!

I love Dr Teals Vitamin C bath soak. It smells amazing and makes LOADS of bubbles, even in my really hard water area.

AnneShirleysNewDress · 06/05/2024 16:59

Avon bubble bath.

SnowFrogJelly · 06/05/2024 17:01

Radox

BaronessBomburst · 06/05/2024 17:04

Fill the bath using the shower head instead of the taps. You'll get far more bubbles that way, especially if you hold it at a 45 degree angle.

MalibuBarbieDreamHouse · 06/05/2024 17:06

I think it is all about how you swish the water around!! I

whoawhat · 06/05/2024 18:25

My son makes the bath over flow with bubbles no matter what we give him. He agitates it (especially near where the tap is running) and uses a shower head to fill the bath.

Although I agree with pp that mateys does a great job cleaning the bath 😅
