Badly

And really really thick.
With no common sense or critical thinking skills.
Zero evidence of any meritocracy in the party.
Truss barely has enough cognitive skills to breathe and walk simultaneously, so the fact she got to lead the party isn't a good sign.

Supersoakers · 18/04/2024 22:26

Living proof that privilege, money and education does not help you be a better person who helps others.
Incompetent liars who can’t be bothered to research and think things through, just exist on superficial sound bites and a facade of old money.

WaitingfortheTardis · 18/04/2024 22:27

Liars.

Echobelly · 18/04/2024 22:28

Corrupt, desperate, unscrupulous, only capable of coming up with policies that involve hurting scapegoated vulnerable groups to try to distract their voters by saying 'Look, we've hurt people you don't like' (which is cheap and easy) while not actually offering a single policy that would genuinely help ordinary people, including their voters.

Amara123 · 18/04/2024 22:30

Also a really poor reflection of those posh schools who turned them out.

With all that opportunity, a more shallow group of unethical grifters couldn't be imagined.

Fluffyowl00 · 18/04/2024 22:30

I’m a history teacher, and whilst I don’t think I’ll be able to manage another 20 years - I might go back and teach for a couple of years once they put this into the curriculum (unless the the Home Counties all vote Tory again and we end up a dictatorship obvs).

IFHTTBIC · 18/04/2024 22:31

Once upon a time I thought I could never hate anyone more than Thatcher. This government made me realise I was wrong. I will remember them as the worst nightmare I've lived through; the politicians who broke Britain with their venality, incompetence, arrogance, selfishness and boundless greed.

IFHTTBIC · 18/04/2024 22:32

Forgot to add unbelievably vain to that list.

TooBigForMyBoots · 18/04/2024 22:33

An embarrassment to Eton.

Lesina · 18/04/2024 22:34

self serving manipulative cunts

sanitygirl · 18/04/2024 22:34

Bunch of c*s

CheshireCat1 · 18/04/2024 22:35

Consistently backing up each others lies.

fiddleleaffig · 18/04/2024 22:44

Broken promises.
So many election manifesto promises to get people to vote for them which they then drop as soon as they are voted in. So just a lot of disappointment.
They need to have left the country in a better state then they inherited it, and I cannot see any way in which they've done that that another government wouldn't have also managed (there have been some successful law and bills introduced especially regarding sexual harassment, upskirting becoming illegal, Claire's law, Sarah's law etc, but these have all come from outsiders lobbying and I reckon they would have passed regardless of the party in power).
Yes the economy was in a bad place in 2010, but that was a worldwide crash not caused by UK policies, it's now in a bad place due to an incompetent PM.
Really, really, finding it hard to see how the story party have improved life in anyway at all

Alfreddoeblin · 18/04/2024 22:44

Proof that a plummy accent, a veneer of sophistication and a well made suit can induce anyone to vote for them in spite of their past record. And that despite their obvious incompetence they are allegedly the only electable party, being absolutely bloody Teflon coated.

WrenNatsworthy · 18/04/2024 22:46

GoodnightAdeline · 18/04/2024 20:58

I’ll try not to

That is exactly what I was going to say. A lot of broken pieces to mend that will take a lot of time.

Honestly they’ve been terrible from the start. Cameron and Osborne’s decision to impose austerity cuts across public services led to where we are now - NHS in crisis, local authorities going bankrupt, schools struggling, rough sleeping up massively. Even before Brexit and Covid they were screwing the country. We had no food banks before the Tories - there wasn’t a critical mass of desperate people needing to use them.

Yes, food banks, why did I forget about that. 😡

What pisses me off the most is how Tory MPs have the fucking audacity to use food banks for PR purposes.

They go along, obviously with press and photographers in tow, for the express purpose of posting on twitter to showi how wonderful, charitable and caring they are.

I remember one Tory MP, saying he was proud to be invited to open a new food bank in his Constituency. Fuckimg proud!

It blows my mind they dont have the normal human decency to be ashamed
-ashamed that their own Tory policies are the reasons we have food banks
-ashamed that their own constituents need to rely on food banks to feed their families
No, not ashamed at all. Instead, they callously use food banks to improve thier image.

It's like pushing someone into a river, watching as other people jump in to save them. And then pretending to be part group who helped saved the person, when press turn up. Happily smiling for the newspaoer photographs.

Fucking bullshit.
And breathe - rant over.

AtrociousCircumstance · 18/04/2024 22:48

They destroyed this country and have forced so many people into poverty and anguish. They are corrupt to the point of amorality. They’ve decimated our rights. I will remember them with disgust.

vodkaredbullgirl · 18/04/2024 22:48

Want to forget them not remember them, thanks.

Sasqwatch · 18/04/2024 22:50

Fondly

PepeLePew · 18/04/2024 22:54

Nasty
Incompetent
Short sighted
Torn apart by their own ambitions
Greedy

BresciaBike · 18/04/2024 22:55

I'll remember them as cold-hearted.

And, if I think further, as a tangled bickering mess of ineptness.

goingtotown · 18/04/2024 22:57

Incompetent for 14years.

Blueglazzier · 18/04/2024 22:59

This government has left me feeling I never want to vote again because I honestly don't feel I can trust another politician

This government has left me feeling I am not proud to live in England anymore

This government has destroyed this country . No NHS dentist for the people. Hospital waiting is now years , people in terrible pain and dying .

They should be ashamed

QueenOfHiraeth · 18/04/2024 23:06

I'm very old and remember governments changing from the 1970s onwards.

Without fail people are glad to see the back of them, that's why they are voted out after all, usually because they are incompetent and taking the piss.
I am cynical enough to think this is just another one in a long series and it is only a matter of time until the same thing is happening again with the next lot.
I guess I'll remember them as just another shower of you-know-what

A testament to the public school ethos, “anything is ok as long as you don’t get caught”
