Wondering what things you found you were excluded from when you became pregnant and then had children?

What were your barriers and exclusions? Did you think they were unreasonable?

I'll start.

My yoga class wouldn't accept me anymore

Wasn't allowed to do a gardening course (that was 60% coursework and the rest was doing cuttings and planting seeds)

Couldn't do pretend sword fighting with a foam sword (at a cosplay event) participants weren't hitting each other, they were hitting dummies.

Did anyone have any truly ridiculous exclusions that pissed them off?

Nothing, really. My yoga teacher was one of the first people I told about my pregnancy. She gave me modifications (eg no inversions) and I was practising up to 39 weeks. Some studios won't allow this, however, due to the terms of their insurance.

I can't think of anything. I volunteered in a community foodbank/charity shop until 2 days before dc2 was born and went back with her in the carrier at 4 months.

@PollySolo it was a normal underground railway, so not that mysterious. They run the test trains at night with new equipment on them. 😊

Nothing! I was climbing up haki stairs on a building site 5 days before I went into labour. They did a full risk assessment.

I haven’t been turned away with a baby either, but then I’ve never tried to go to any ‘adult’ places with them, like a nightclub or evening adult learning clubs.

Still sounds cool to me! Empty stations, echoing tunnels etc…

Well, I couldn't go to work at weekends, so that meant I had to hand my promotion back.

why couldn't you work at weekends?
