@Wishingwinteraway thank you for replying! Hope you and the tiny ones get out soon! Very much appreciate not being able to get out is frustrating; currently nursing a broken ankle!
I apologise that my response may have come across as rude.

Thank you hope the ankle recovery is going well x

Hobbling, not striding as yet!

Last question and then I’ll buy one for those of you with them handrail or no handrail they look pretty flimsy so not sure if it’s needed or if they get used XX

No handrail on mine and it's fine.

everycowandagain · 11/04/2024 10:22

I don't have the handle, I am extremely uncoordinated but am fine without. Mine slides under the spare bed so the rail would make it harder to store.

I got the mat, I only use it if I move the pad to carpet. I usually use it on hard floor without the mat.

Why not employ someone to go for a walk for you?

Why not organise it so that it isn't pissing down with rain all the time, and organise some extra hours in the day for most of the time poor people on here.

thepastinsidethepresent · 11/04/2024 10:26

Ooh, I hadn't heard of these but now I think I need one!

RampantIvy · 11/04/2024 10:27

I reckon sales of this type of thing are increasing due to the shit weather we are having. I have just bought an exercise bike.

thepastinsidethepresent · 11/04/2024 10:28

I do walk. Three miles a day. But I move from A to B.

Good for you, have a medal. Why the judgement?

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 11/04/2024 10:30

I'm looking at getting one of these in the next few months but from Walking Pad direct as I live in a flat so have no storage. The one I like that folds and stands upright is £700 so it'll be a major spend.

mondaytosunday · 11/04/2024 11:02

Im considering one. I walk my dogs but its very stop start stop start (I live in the city and one stays on a lead). So never striding out getting a proper pace on. And the weather has been so yuck too. I can't quite get my head around working at the same time though. I can see it if having a meeting but not when I have to use the computer (I design, not just type so lots of mouse stuff). I like the look of this one.

Been mulling over this since I saw the thread yesterday...are the walking pads noisy? I want to use one in my living room when I watch TV but don't want to annoy everyone else. Thanks

hashimotosucks · 07/11/2024 10:41

Any update? What did you buy and is it any good?

Wishingwinteraway · 13/11/2024 19:10

Hi
yes I did buy one
from Amazon 195 although a lot cheaper on offer now! Has a 50 off voucher on it!!!

kiddoza I think is the brand
not too noisy quite stable gets to a decent speed
didn’t bother with the handle to hold just went for the pad

easy to store pushes under the table - great for a quick walk when the kids are asleep

To add… picked it as one of the higher rated ones under £200 when I was researching x

Sorry to resurrect an older thread OP bit I'm curious as to how you are finding your walking pad? I've just ordered one from Amazon and I'm hoping it will help me tone up and lose some baby weight
Thanks!

Hey really good I so t get on it as much as I want but starting on that has made me up my steps overall and I’m walking outside as much as I can too - my friend works from home with hers and says it’s easy for her to clock up 18k a day!
im nowhere near that but with calorie counting plus the steps I’ve lost a stone and a half in the last 5 months (baby weight also) added in some other home workouts (resistance bands and squats etc) too its been great when the babies napping and it’s rainy outside can just get on even 10 minutes at a time it soon adds up
plus if you stick a podcast on while your doing it the time flies x

Brilliant! I'm loving mine, not having to go out in the wind and rain for a walk is so nice. They are a great invention.

LittleMonks11 · 25/02/2025 17:33

Can you link to the one you hot @Thornybush I'm worried about width of pad. Great to hear!

Thornybush · 25/02/2025 23:42

This is the one I got for £134 on Amazon. The width is ok for me but I must say I do wish it was slightly longer. I'm a size 7, I definitely don't think it is designed for size 10 feet.

Thornybush · 25/02/2025 23:44

I'm actually laughing at the scale of the picture. It definitely isn't as big as it looks. The model must have been shrunk down in size!

Cally102 · 26/02/2025 13:01

I recently bought the home fitness one - specifically because it's 10.5 cm high so just slides under the sofa. Easy to move and I didn't get the handle. I've increased the speed gradually to 4.5. I'm sure on speed 6 you could jog but not sure it's recommended!

How do you find the width? Would it cope with a 6ft man with size 11 feet?!
