Ooh following with interest

GreatGateauxsby · 09/04/2024 17:11

I’ve got one. i love it.

my mistake was getting one that folds but must be stored FLAT on the ground (we have low sofas) I should have got one that can be stored vertically not horizontally….
i got a walkingpad it was cheaper from Amazon than their own website and cost about £180?

BellaCriesAndThatsAlright · 09/04/2024 18:20

I’ve just got a Citysports one off Amazon. Only had it a few days but so far I love it.

Wishingwinteraway · 09/04/2024 22:07

thank you both I’ll check these out… also didn’t realise some couldn’t be stored vertical! Great to know!!

I’ve been looking at home fitness code there or Amazon seem to have good options x

I have one and a desk I can raise up and down. It takes a little while to get used to waking (at a decent pace) and typing but you soon get used to it.
My work team are used to seeing me walking during meetings too.
I have recently realised that I can get mine to go fast enough to jog so I can even do my couch to 5k runs at my desk during my lunch break if it is pouring down outside.

everycowandagain · 10/04/2024 07:43

I have one from home fitness code as well, it's great for getting in steps when you can't leave the house. Mine goes up to 10km/h so you can do a bit of a run on it if you're not a super fast runner. I mean in theory you can, I only ever walk on mine!!

VestibuleVirgin · 10/04/2024 07:46

Why not employ someone to go for a walk for you?

Thanks home fitness code seems to be the most mentioned place so far and Amazon I’ve got a short list now x

That’s good I’m hoping to find something working from home once I’ve finished my mat leave so would be great to get a desk that fits a little later x

I do walk. Three miles a day. But I move from A to B.

🏃😋

determinedtomakethiswork · 10/04/2024 22:16

Could people please put links if they are really happy with the ones they have bought?

determinedtomakethiswork · 10/04/2024 22:17

@VestibuleVirgin you have absolutely no idea why people might want to have one of these in their home rather than going for a long walk.

No, I do not. How perceptive of you! Well done.
But this is AIBU, so it invites opinion based on info given by OP.
If someone has a reason to not do 'x', or doesn't know about 'd', they can explain in their post; it is then obvious to the reader that they need advice/help.
Without pertinent info, the OP is merely inviting opinion

everycowandagain · 11/04/2024 07:24

@VestibuleVirgin no this not AIBU, it's Chat. If you don't want to chat about walking pads then perhaps you can walk from A (here) to B (anywhere else).

When my newborn and toddler allow hopfully I’ll be able to do the same but don’t like dragging them out in the rain that we seem to have all the time but for the mean time I’ll make use of nap times with one of these - enjoy your walks 👍

@determinedtomakethiswork I have this one:

www.homefitnesscode.com/collections/treadmills/products/motorised-treadmill-with-lcd-display?_gl=16x7gr2_up*MQ..&gclid=CjwKCAjw8diwBhAbEiwA7i_sJW0zI3-rM9JQnAumSbq2bm0ttpRCkPPkvywWVu1j-XhJZUeGWzOomRoC82kQAvD_BwE

I think I googled and found a money off code too although it was a while ago.

Works brilliantly for walking from A to A which I do for many reasons which are well understood by almost everyone on this thread....

VestibuleVirgin · 11/04/2024 07:30

@Wishingwinteraway thank you for replying! Hope you and the tiny ones get out soon! Very much appreciate not being able to get out is frustrating; currently nursing a broken ankle!
I apologise that my response may have come across as rude.

I am an idiot. I apologise

everycowandagain · 11/04/2024 07:37

@VestibuleVirgin ah no worries. Best of luck with the broken ankle, must be very frustrating.

LanieM87 · 11/04/2024 07:38

Another vote for the home fitness code one! It's fab. Mine doesn't go under the sofa but I does stand upright in my cupboard when I'm not using it.

LaWench · 11/04/2024 07:52

Following with interest, it's my next big purchase now my sit/ stand desk is installed. My office is tiny though so it needs to be light and stored upright.

Can I ask what the mat is for? To keep the noise down on hard floors?
