Also an MRI scanner. There was nothing to do except lie still.

And next to the DJ booth/speakers in a nightclub.

If I'm tired, I need to sleep.

Magpiecomplex · 09/04/2024 08:39

GCSE French exam. I'd finished the paper already though, so it wasn't a problem, just embarrassing!

Cinema. In my defence it was a midnight showing of the full 3hr version of Apocalypse Now.

🤣 I slept in the cinema too. Eight Legged Freaks so no big loss😆

Inside an MRI scanner.

Same, I was so embarrassed!

I also nodded off in labour (in between contractions) and kept apologising to my midwife haha

I once fell asleep on a plane before takeoff. Woke up after the plane landed. It was that really deep deep sleep, no dreams, no half waking up at any time.

It felt like i just closed my eyes for about 4 seconds. It was very disorientating to realise the entire flight was already done.

I've done this too. Flight back from Hong Kong so not a short flight. Fell asleep just before take off and woke up just was we were landing in Heathrow.

Also during a party.

OnlyLoveCanBreakYourHeart · 09/04/2024 09:36

In a meeting at work.

LadyHester · 09/04/2024 09:37

On a school trip (as teacher) while being shown round a Roman villa. I nodded off standing up at each stage of the tour, would wake up to go to the next room, and then go back to sleep. The kids found it quite entertaining.

Inside an MRI scanner.

I've only ever had two MRIs and have nodded off both times!

spookysoul · 09/04/2024 09:38

On the operating table, during my caesarean 😐 they must have thought wow this woman is absolutely bored to death at the thought of having a baby 😆

Stickthatupyourdojo · 09/04/2024 09:41

At a John Bishop show, a Broadway show and also in 3 different films at the cinema, the latest being Barbie with four friends. I rarely sit still so when I have to I just fall asleep. I hate it, these were all things I was looking forward to and paid money for and was trying to stay awake for!

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 09/04/2024 09:42

On an xray table

In an important meeting with clients.

SandcastleQueen · 09/04/2024 09:46

In a life drawing class. I was the model. I had to recline on cushions and TBF they'd made the room nice and toasty with a portable heater, and I'd had a late night....I woke with a start, super paranoid that I'd let out a fart 😳

Also during labour with my youngest, my toddler had kept me up all night and I think my body knew it was now or never for a quick nap!

CaterhamReconstituted · 09/04/2024 09:46

I once fell asleep on a blanket that tossed over a bundle of stuff. It was a bit uncomfortable but I didn’t think much of it as I was so tired. When I woke up a few hours later I felt cramp and had a pain in my leg. I pulled up the blanket and discovered that I had been sleeping on a dartboard. The pain was caused by a dart sticking out of my leg.

MillshakePickle · 09/04/2024 09:52

Omg! I need sleep. I read that as (k)nobbed off!!!

Was thinking this one will be deleted soon.

I can't really sleep unless in bed, or my sofa.

WithRosesAroundTheDoor · 09/04/2024 09:53

At a red traffic light. I was the driver.

8 weeks pregnant, absolutely exhausted, just closed my eyes for a second, BEEP!! 👀

TheFTrain · 09/04/2024 10:00

In a cafe in the Pompidou, Paris. I was pregnant and exhausted at the time. One moment I was talking to my partner and the next I was out for the count.

thistimelastweek · 09/04/2024 10:04

My husband fell asleep at Silverstone. During the racing and close to the track.

judgementfail · 09/04/2024 10:23

During my induction with my new manager at 'big top banking job in the city'.

I'd just split up with my boyfriend at the time and was staying at a friends house on the sofa. I was drinking heavily, not eating or sleeping more than 3 hours a night.

She was telling me my role and context for projects and I just nodded right off right in front of her. To her credit she just carried on as my head lolled back.

Cookerhood · 09/04/2024 10:30

At the dinner table after a 36 hour journey to NZ (back in the day). My family there had made a lovely welcoming dinner but I nodded off half way through. I'm not someone who sleeps easily as a rule.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 09/04/2024 10:34

At a Police gig.
I had been on a night shift the night before and hadn’t had any sleep afterwards. I have seen them several time before too.

TigerRag · 09/04/2024 11:10

A gig

Hagbard · 09/04/2024 11:19

In a strange man's lap on the plane. I woke up to him prodding me a few times, clearly I was persistent. Last leg of the journey, I fell asleep at a zebra crossing slumped over my suitcase.

CordylineCapybara · 09/04/2024 13:44

On the floor of DH's empty house that he rented out, he was redecorating and the house was in quite a state from previous tenants.

Also while in labour, in between contractions.

Regularly on the bus to work and I don't know how I managed to get off at the right stop.

My friend fell asleep at a Nascar race.

crackofdoom · 09/04/2024 13:54

I've fallen asleep with my head on the table while feeding DS1 (18 mo) his lunch. Don't think he noticed.

afaloren · 09/04/2024 14:01

Under a pile of coats in a bar on the other side of the world after an ill-timed flight. My friends guarded me!
