what still gives you nightmares from school?

The shower at my secondary school was a sort of tunnel with water nozzles spraying at about armpit height on either side. You were supposed to walk through the tunnel with your arms in the air and your towel held up above your head. How this was supposed to actually get you clean, I’m not sure, but we used to sprint through with our towels wrapped round us, until the PE teacher caught in and took to standing at the end of the tunnel watching each girl to make sure we went through “properly” 😱
There was supposedly an issue with the plumbing when I was in year 8 or 9 and we stopped using them. I wonder now if too many parents complained.

PE. I am not sporty or fast. Teachers and others used to tease me for it.

Irish and English. Just did not click with these subjects and really struggled.

Being the teachers pet in some eyes. I was quiet and tended to keep my head down and just get on with my work. Therefore, I was often picked to do things seen as treats. If there was something happening in the town that the school had to send a representative student I was the one sent. Both my parents are people pleasers so they never said no
