Inspired by yesterday's thread of the bill splitting karma, which was very uplifting to read, can anyone share any stories where CF got their come uppence? These will be a wonderful read for all especially victims of CF!
I don't have any to offer I am afraid...

I took my dog for a walk on some common land on our estate. A man living in a nearby house followed me and trapped me in a lane screaming at me that I was not allowed to let my dog walk on this land. He was really frightening and stood there aggressively shouting and screaming for ages and I was trapped. Recently the council has given permission for a traveller site on the land behind his house. He now has to contend with ponies goats and pigs regularly escaping into his garden

DH has just reminding me of another one. Many years ago, we rescued a young black Lab. He was a lovely dog but a bit of a hooligan, and we spent hours training him.

My BIL is a bit of an arse, and as they also had a young black Lab very similar to ours, he liked to ridicule me, saying "oh here comes Barbara Woodhouse!" (giving my age away there!). He maintained that dogs "don't need training" because "they train themselves when they're ready".

One day we were all out for a walk. He was a bit further ahead with SIL and I could see them smirking to each other, glancing at me, smirking again. I said "what's so funny?" He said "So much for your training, your dog is back there eating a massive pile of horse shit!" I glanced beside me and said "Nope, MY dog is right here, so I'm guessing it's your dog who's tucking in...!"

His face!!!

I have told this story so often that it will be outing - oh well. Years and years and years ago - in the 70s! - I was driving my mum's car with my then fiancé (now been divorced 20 years). He hadn't passed his test yet, but as he rode a motorbike he was of course an expert on all things driving.

We were just coming up to our motorway exit when there was a tailback of stationary traffic. I have to admit, it was frustrating sitting there, seeing our perfectly clear exit road but not moving. Some smartarse drivers started pulling onto the hard shoulder and driving off on the slip road. It was tempting I'll admit and ex was nagging me to do the same - and sulking when I wouldn't (and name calling - all the signs were there, WHY did I marry him?) Anyway eventually the road cleared and we could take the exit road - only to find around the bend out of sight a queue of chastened smartarses sitting in their cars on the hard shoulder being booked by a sneaky police car.

I did chortle and there were many see I told you comments from me - which were shut down after a while and I was told not to keep on about it because it was boring. Had it been the other way round of course, it would have been brought up at regular intervals as a stick to beat me with and to prove how he was Always Right. As I said, all the signs were there - but then there was no Mumsnet to advise me. (I may have dined out on this story a couple of times.)

That's not karma that's just horrendously sad. Poor boy

You literally stated “I often think these ppl deserve for their only grandchild to have this.”

Not sure it’s my comprehension that’s the issue here.

This isn’t “karma” in any sense of the word.

You clearly need to shout and be so rude as you’ve realised your post is abhorrent.

Not me but my nan years ago and I've never forgotten it.

She was waiting for her bus and thought she spotted a £1 coin on the pavement. Bent down to get it (admitted she was chuffed Grin). Another lady at the bus stop darted forward, almost pushing my nan out of the way saying "that's mine - I just dropped it". My nan moved aside only to realise that it was a bottle top and said "you're welcome to it"

Love this! Hope the burger picked up the cap!😂

Autistic people are not a punishment nor are we karma for someone else's bad deeds. The idea that everything I've faced in life, the bullying and sexual assault and being misunderstood daily, is a fate-ordained punishment against someone else is more insulting than I have words to articulate.

I completely agree.

my child with ASD is wonderful but he has to face so many additional struggles as a result of his additional needs.

That someone could say that they think people “deserve” to have grandchildren with the condition to somehow punish them makes me feel sick.

Soubriquet · 08/04/2024 11:06

Don’t know why that posted 3 times!!

The grandson isn’t the only grandson either. He actually has 3 grandsons and two granddaughters.

We are pretty much no contact with him. I have a daughter and a son. My sister who has the rest has the child with severe autism that he has to help babysit on occasion and he really hates it

A friend of mine years ago was PA to the directors of a tiny company. They were interviewing for a post and she did all the toing and froing from reception. Some of the interviewees were rude or didn’t bother to speak to her. More fool them because her bosses asked for her feedback on every interviewee.

My big break came in a similar way. Big boss would send down one of the members of the team to collect interviewees - someone who would be working for the person who was being hired. Apparently after first round, it was me or one other... however he was patronising and rude in the elevator so the person who subsequently reported to me picked me! Grin

I don’t understand why you’re doubling down on your extremely offensive point.

Your dad is clearly unpleasant. The end. Why are you bringing children with disabilities into this?

Theyre not his “karma.”

I used to go to karate as a teen. One day, we heard that one of our sensai's had been mugged by a gang of youths. This guy looked like a frail, meek George Roper so they obviously though he was an easy target. We all gasped when we heard...not because we thought he'd been hurt but we knew what an absolute weapon that guy was. Had a punch you would never, ever want to be on the end of.
So he turns up for class with a black eye and a small cut on his head and goes to get changed. We all sat in the dojo very quietly waiting for him to enter. We then hear rip roaring laugher coming from the changing room from one of the other sensais. Apparently he'd beaten four guys to a pulp and the police patted him on the shoulder and told him to go home. Perfect! He was so low key about it too. We already had a ridiculous amount of respect for this guy anyway but he did set the universe on the hinges just a little more that day. Legend.

I didn’t say they were a punishment, I was agreeing with the PP I originally quoted that people who treat ASD children (and their parents/relatives) deserve to know what that feels like. It’s hypothetical. I’m not in a secret lab creating these children to impregnate these women’s children to give them these ASD children or have any desire to do so. My point was about empathising with the children and carers of these children. I know it’s an emotive subject, believe me. The focus was the karma for the individuals who mistreat people with autism NOT imaginary children who I have deliberately waved my imaginary wand to make autistic.

NC means No Contact.

In this context it means Name Changed, other times its no contact, usually you can guess which one from the wording in the post

Years ago I worked in the centre of a large town verging on a city.
Parking is a nightmare especially during school holidays as parking is also for the shopping center. So you might be searching for a space for 30 mins.

One day I was running late to be on a interview panel at 9am. I pulled into the parking area at 8.45am to see a person looking at reversing. I waited and put on my indicator. The person pulled out and pulled up next to me to give me their ticket. As I was explaining to the exiter I had a work permit a man in a car pulled into that space. He got out and was just getting his wife and kids out when I pulled up next to him to say I was signalling to go into that space. I was expecting a small apology. He looked me up and down and basically told me to fuck off as I hadn't moved into the space quick enough, i said i didnt deserve to be spoken to like that and he then said fuck off you fat cunt. It was a really strange reaction to something so small and ridiculous. He had gone from 0 to 100 in the space of 5 seconds.
I eventually found a space and wondered into work at 8.55am.

I went into the first interview panel of the day and was complaining about the rude rude man space stealing and I told them what he said. We then as a team were reminiscing about rude people we had come across before.

Got a call saying candidate one was in reception. I was sent to retrieve him as the most junior and walked into reception to find rude man himself.
He looked very much deer in headlights. I introduced myself and took him through to the panel. I very much enjoyed the hour interview asking questions around natural reactions and how he reacts in stressful environments.
To his credit he did apologise as I walked him out he was just stressed about running late and his child was acting up.
Afterwards I told the rest of the team who he was and they automatically excluded him from further interviews which was a shame as he had a reasonably competent cv.

Theyre not his “karma.”

Op herself is one of the children with disabilities. And to add to that, she's female.

I think she's allowed to write about HER OWN disability that way, should she choose.

And she did say it wasn't a nice karma, but ..

No. She said her dad wanted boys but she and her sister were girls.

She then said he had a boy years later who has ASD.

And that his grandson also has ASD.

Unless you’re saying being female is a disability?

Soubriquet · 08/04/2024 11:17

I’m deaf…..plus I had undiagnosed ASD because my dad refused to let me screened. He had no choice with his son because it was worse. Not as bad as his grandson, but worse.

My dad is a huge disablist. He also wanted boys. He was granted two girls, one of which (me) became deaf after a bout of meningitis**

I have 2 which relate to my time as a supermarket checkout manager many moons ago. I was sorting out a refund for a customer, when I heard a commotion on one of the tills. A customer was screaming at the cashier, I was just finishing serving my customer so I could investigate, when screaming customer came and dragged me by my arm down to the till. She was saying that the cashier had squashed her loaf of bread and demanding I replace it, all the while still holding my arm. I apologised and said I would gladly replace it though it wasn't really squished at all if she let go of my arm. She the started swearing that she wouldn't go to that particular cashier again, and that I was useless etc etc and Where's my fresh bread? Just then the senior store manager walked passed and said she wouldn't be needing fresh bread as he was banning her from the store for man handling me. Her face was a picture.
Also in that job one of the married managers was having an affair with a lady on the night shift, this lady thought she was very important because of this, and had reported me because I had asked her if she could stop filling shelves and pop on a till for 5 minutes when it got busy. The manager she was sleeping with called me in and said I had 'embarrassed her' (wtf!) Any way a few years later I was in a pub and a random bloke asked me If I had gone to a certain primary school, as he thought I was in the year below his son.(Catholic school where most people knew each from going to mass etc) I asked his name and it was quite unusual but I did not recall his son. I mentioned that I did however know someone with that name, but I didn't think she was Catholic as she was sleeping with a manager at * ( supermarket name) The guy then said his wife did indeed work at that store. I was exceeding embarrassed, and did not mean to cause him distress, though I did wish I was a fly on the wall when he got home to see his wife squirm.
