Happy Easter 🐰🐣

I've just got up after going to bed just before 6pm last night! Must have needed the sleep 💤 First cuppa is made & I'm enjoying the peace and quiet apart from the house noises and birds outside 😊. I told the girls I'd do hot cross buns for breakfast if they wanted to join me, so I'll wait a bit longer before toasting mine.

I don't think we have much at all planned for today - there's some normal housey stuff to be done, but not much so I might just spend the day crafting once it's done.
Dd1 will most likely have some college work so I'll enquire as to its progress & dd2 will have maths but I doubt she'll do it today. My dad might pop in at some point, not seen him for a week or so.

We're having pork for tea - someone forgot to check out the online Tesco shop, and then forgot to nip to the meat market in town yesterday 🙄 so no lamb. On the up-side, we're using up the random contents well since I was ordering it for the middle of the week!

Then showers & relax while eating more chocolate 😋 before bed.

I've just been swimming. Pool lovely and quiet. Think we might head to the Lake District for the day in a bit and potter about there, do a walk if we can be arsed.

Just sat down with toast and coffee. I have been up for a while.
Dropped DH off for a 10K race, first for over a year since he had his heart attack, so I'm slightly anxious.
Got pavlova in the oven and need to pick him up before 11 am all being well.

I’m still in bed with a coffee at the moment. No kids here today so a relaxing start.

I think we’ll finish off planting the raised flowerbeds this morning after our trip to the garden centre yesterday and then walk the dog.

Later we’re going to my parents for dinner with my sister, her fiancé and our baby nephew 🥰 - can’t wait to see him!

Happy Easter!

We are having a slow, chilled morning so far. Oh is about to cook bacon, scrambled eggs and Philly bagels. My dad is popping in with some eggs for the kids shortly. This afternoon we will do our Easter hunt followed by roast chicken for dinner. Games, music and a bottle of Prosecco will follow.

Not religious in the slightest but do really enjoy Easter. We started making a big thing of it during covid to cheer the kids up and have carried it on since. Just nice family time.

I'm seeing in-laws as per usual, and having a roast dinner, probably. Because if there is anything I love most in the world, it's being reminded of how easy they had children and that at my age, my MIL didn't have to work and she was raising two children. Easter. Season of fertility my arse. My MIL doesn't rub anything in, although she does offer the most useless advice, but useless advice is better than no advice.

Bitterness aside, Happy Easter!

Just had our egg hunt (DS2 is autistic and doesn’t do waiting!) DS1 is at his usual Sunday training session, then we’re having a big buffet lunch since nobody is bothered about having a roast. Some garden jobs to do this afternoon as it’s finally stopped raining, then Easter eggs while we finish the film marathon we started last night

Got up at 8.30 had a shower made breakfast for Dd then dropped her at work
Just had a coffee and croissant
Dh is away with work
Going to hoover and mop the floors and put a wash on
Will pick Dd up from work at 3.00 then we’ll go over to see my mum
Having a Chinese takeaway tonight

The lamb with garlic, rosemary and Moroccan spices is in and cooking gently. I like well-done lamb.

Other than that, I've been for a short walk in the wood to admire the primroses, and saw a couple of white egrets in a field nearby.

Currently drinking coffee and trying to dissuade the cat from wrestling with my new living room rug. We came down this morning to find it in a mysterious hump in the middle of the floor, and now we know why...😂

slow day today, as no swimming lessons this week and i’m recovering for abdominal surgery. DH is knackered after working all week, helping me 24/7 and running the kids all over the place.
Easter bunny has been, i’m sat in the bath. Got a wash on, DH is going to do the egg hunt in a bit. Hopefully get out for a walk after lunch, before home for football and a roast dinner.
wanted to get the garden tidied up before DDs birthday next week but don’t think i’ll manage it and i’m under orders to take it easy!

Happy Easter @lucysmam & everyone. In bed with a cuppa & one of my Easter eggs ( small mini eggs one). I treated myself to a larger chocolate fingers egg too. DH wasn’t bothered about chocolate this year & DD15 had money. I have bought her a packet of mini eggs though plus there are creme eggs & caramel ones hidden away. We’re having our roast tomorrow as the turkey takes 48 hours to defrost. Forgot to take the sausages out of the freezer for bangers & mash. There’s a nice farm shop near us which is open all over Easter so I’ll get some from there later. It’s on the way to a lovely beach which is good for sea glass & on the edge of woodland walks. My friends have recently opened their cycle hire place for the season so I’ll pop in to see them but only briefly as it’s bound to be busy. Hopefully the village shop will be open as they sell delicious ice cream ( can find room with all the chocolate!) As I type I’m looking at a big pile of clothes on my bedroom stool - definitely sorting & putting away today! I’ve lost a dress so hoping it will turn up! Need to unload/load the dishwasher & do a few bits by hand that have been sitting next to the sink for ages. Might risk hanging out a load of washing. It’s hard to tell which way the weather will go! We’re missing Call The Midwife on Sunday evenings. I’ll look in the tv guide to see what’s on.

The catholics in the house (DH plus kids) have just realised the clocks changed and so they've all missed church. 🤣

We dont have little kids now so no egg hunt. DH and I swapped eggs yesterday and we are going out for lunch together today.

Its a beautiful day here so not sure what else we will do, Im loving not having work tomorrow and have slept so well the past 2 nights.

About to hide Easter eggs in the house.

Will then get DP & DH up, who are still asleep. (DD has been up for hours).

Will force the family to go for a walk a bit later, which they will all complain about then enjoy once we get there, as always!

Then veggie roast for dinner and after will force family to sit down in front of the TV together
which, again, they will complain about (as they want to be on their own devices) but enjoy once it starts. Think we're going to try Renegade Nell on Disney. It's tough to find something everyone likes, hoping this will fit the bill.

(I saw a trailer and it took me ages to work out why the main character looked so familiar! Did anyone else have the same experience?)

My daughter, son inlaw and granddaughter are down until tomorrow. I'm cooking a roast for us all and then we'll walk round to my parents to see all the family. Happy Easter everyone 🐣

We've just got back from church, eating hot cross buns now. About to do an egg hunt.

After lunch we have some crafts to do then we are having a roast chicken dinner. Then trifle, sticky toffee pudding, or both! We've got Easter crackers for the table aswell and some small presents for the children.

It's a beautiful sunny day so hopefully some garden time aswell!

For us is just "sunday", but I'm hoping to complete my spring deep clean as i finally fell a resurgence of energy after a two day rest!
