Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot, with the window flung open so I can hear the birds outside. I think dd2 is up already but no-one's been down yet so it's lovely and quiet apart from the birds 😊

We were going to jump on the train somewhere but the weather forecast was a bit rubbish so decided against it. We're off into town instead. Dd2's asked for a couple of new tops & maybe some different trousers to leggings so we'll see what we can find her.

Dd1's coming because Mum's paying 🙄🤣 sure she'll find something she likes while we're out!

There's a nice looking cafe/restaurant in town we've been meaning to try so I think we'll eat there today.

Later on it'll be either read, or craft, for me. I want to get my Eras jacket completely finished over the next day or two - I wanted to do all sorts of other things too but am running out of time!

Happy Saturday. Just back from Parkrun- very slow walk/jog as still injured but was great to be out there again.
I'm off to see my Dad later. We'll probably go for a walk down by the Thames and grab some lunch.
It's been quite a horrible week for me health wise - fuck you menopause! so hoping that all the fresh air will put a spring back in my step.

I'm drinking a coffee with Spotify on the tv, listening to an album I just can't get out of my head.

Everyone else has plans today so I'm going to the studio in a bit to rehearse some music I've been working on.

My best friend has text me, and that made me happy.

The cat is snoozing.

It's a lovely morning so far.

Well, we should have been having reps from windows/doors calling today, then we should be sorting out the bathroom. But no.

Due to (yet again for the umpteenth time) arsy behaviour from my stbexp I cancelled the reps earlier this week, the bathroom and indeed the rest of the house can fester in its long neglected state (that's another stbexp story for another time).
I've just now submitted forms to several lettings agency, for after 8 years of twattery from him when he rages at me over imagined slights then takes himself off to bed for days, cos ' he's the victim, innit! (He spent all yesterday in bed, is still in bed, and will probably stay in bed until Tuesday when he will roll away the heap of grot off his bed and miraculously rise up like nothing's happened yet again (well it is Easter), and take himself off to work!

That's another Bank Holiday wrecked. This also happens on weekends and birthdays too. But never again if I can help it!

Apologies for such verbosity, but I've bottled this up for years to the outside world. To him it makes no difference. He wont discuss anything, just carries on like nothing ever happened.

Even so, the sun is shining, I've got my washing on the line, and once this 3rd load is done I'm going out for the day.

M ex-husband is getting married today to a woman 20 years younger. So I'm meeting a friend for a nice dog walk followed by tea and cake. That'll show him.

Morning all, I've been to the shop for bread, milk and cream, it was fairly quiet at 8.30 so I timed it right.

Currently stewing some plums with brown sugar and orange zest, as DH is a crumble fan, so I might make it later or freeze the stewed fruit for another day.

Carrot & coriander soup for lunch with some warm rolls.

Later on, I might do some gardening and tidy the house ready for tomorrow (DH hoovered yesterday).

Pie and mash for dinner. That's about it really.

I had to get up earlyish to drop DS2 to his friend’s house, there’s a gang of them off to Thorpe Park today and then they’re having a sleepover.

Came back, made the coffee and snuggled back into bed and we’re still here!

Will get up and make breakfast shortly then we’ll take the dog for a walk. I think DS1 has a mate coming round.

ExH is picking up DS1 later and we’ll have a quiet evening with the Gladiator Final as DP is still on call. Pork mince lettuce cups for dinner which will be nice!

Good morning @lucysmam . I woke up early so we went out to our local Food Warehouse (Iceland) at 8.30. Came back with loads more stuff than we had planned on getting, of course! All useful stuff we are definitely going to eat though.... no luxuries.

Back home around 10.00. Nice cup of coffee - now sitting watching an episode of Dalgleish before thinking about getting on with things.

Good morning @lucysmam and followers, I’ve been awake since 4am, got up a 7 and walked the dog.
Second load of washing is on the line, another two to go.
I’ve finished digging out any plants i want to keep from the border that’s being redesigned, transplanted the ones I split up and DH is messing around out there. It’s horribly muddy 😵‍💫
I’ve vacuumed through downstairs and stripped the bed, need to remake it but the mattress protector is on the line, so will have to wait.
I think I will have a coffee before I do anything else.

@OhhToHearTheMoonBeamsSing I can hear your frustration in your post 😥 I was trapped with a very similar man for years. Its been 5 years since I kicked him out and life has got better and better every year. I honestly don't recognise myself compared to when I was with him. I hope you make it out soon and build a happy life free of the dickhead 💐

I've just eaten breakfast, about to have my third coffee then jump in the shower. Then it's off to Tesco for some baking bits and dinner for tomorrow. Can anyone recommend what type of lamb to buy that won't be too fatty? It's just me and the dc so an entire leg would be too big.

Quiet day here. I came back to bed with my book and coffee at 8am, still here. Going out for a late lunch and a drive through the dales. I need to buy bread and a chicken for tomorrow.

Other than that, I’ve got a couple of jobs to apply for this weekend so I’ll probably get one of those out of the way.

Ach, he'll spend the rest of his life combing over his hair and sucking in his stomach.

Good morning all, Stockholm is unusually warm today, its 14 degrees (in the shade). The dog is sunbathing on next doors patio, apparently ours isn’t good enough.

My husband has taken the kids shoe and clothes shopping on his own, so he essentially has a death wish really.

I’m painting the back of the house, I did the rest ages ago and then the weather turned, buts its warm enough and dry enough to get it done now.

Nothing planned this evening, so we might start watching the gentlemen.

Morning! I've done a wash and a dog walk and I'm having the first garden coffee of the year!

DS has just come back from a week with family so probably won't move today. DD wants a lift to town where she'll probably spend the whole day.

I'm (very sadly) excited to be waiting for a delivery of storage boxes so I can organise the toy cupboard (childminder) which will take all day but will save me hours a week. Everything will be grouped together in labelled boxes and it's the best thing I've done all year 🤣

Nachos and Saturdays night tv later.

I'm off for the week so saving a few things like the milkshake farm and the new ice cream place for later in the week. Oh and a makers market on Wednesday. Happy days!

Just been a walk, it's lovely here. DH has gone off for the day to take FIL for a scan, I'm just having a coffee in the sun, stuck some washing out and going to pick DS1 from the train station later as he's home from uni for Easter. The first time the four of us will be at home since Xmas.

Today I've been up for ages. I've had breakfast, done two loads of washing and been to Tesco for the food for tomorrow's lunch. My family are coming and I do not know how to do a small shop. So there'll be enough food for me for the week. After that, I visited dd, dsil and the boys with their easter eggs and new outfits. Back home and I'm about to finish the housework and potter about. May be going to look at a puppy this afternoon as Dh ramped up the cute puppy pictures 🤣

I also have a bit of prep I need to do for tomorrows lunch and I need to pop to Aldi for some bits to make a desert

Big Happy Birthday to @mondaytosunday , and huge thanks to fellow sufferers of twatish twats! I'm sorry you have such knowledge of them, but so very glad you're out of the other side.

My laundry is now on the line, and I'm changed into my best Easter finery which is basically jeans and a tunic, plus bodywarmer, and I'm taking myself off out for lunch.
He should've done the shopping yesterday, but didn't, so if he hauls himself out of his pit for a scoff whilst I'm out fine dining then well, there's no bread, butter, ham, cheese, or milk, 'cos he's eaten it all. Just a bendy carrot, a tsp of coleslaw and a half jar of pickled beetroot. That'll larn him!

Footnote - to keep my resolve strong I shall start my own thread on this and not clog this lovely thread up anymore, as there is sooo much more to say!

I cannot get going! I have one bit left of my house spring deep clean - it was really needed. I've been doing it in 3 to 5 hour chunks and not daily. I could finish it today, but I just can't get the motivation and fear I'm just about to head to the sofa to watch something comforting instead.
