Bubble sitter app owners are cheeky fuckers exploiting the sitters

I'm fuming.

Been using them for years and always made a point to stay on the app and pay the fees as I appreciate how easy they made it for me to find sits.

But today they anounced that sitters will have to pay a 25% fees (or 20% for super sitters) for every 1st sit?

Cheeky greey fuckers!

Knowing that most sits through the app are a one time thing. And Bubble managed to get most of the bbsitting jobs going through them. And I pay taxes on what I earn on Bubble.

I hope it ends up making them lose a lot of money. I sure as hell won't use them again. They can get stuffed to get any fees on my regular families, we're going off the app.

I'm fuming.

But thats just the first hitters on a search from someone who is not looking for ad hoc nanny roles

And that was the answer from someone who spends an hour a day scouring every possible website there is, who signed up to most of the nanny agencies and had past employers post on Facebook on their behalf.

Several nannies I know are in the same boat.

I am disgusted by this as well.
They get very defensive when you tell them how exploitive and greedy they are being. They also don’t like it when sitters keep saying the same thing, that they will lose all their qualified and experienced sitters due to this.
I have had to increase my hourly rate to £16 an hour for my first sit and have had no new families book me as they can’t afford it. Yet if I didn’t do this it simply wouldn’t be worth my while. As an app they really have shot themselves in the foot here

I had never heard of Bubble until your post.

To correct someone upthread, Bubble isn't an app for unqualified childcare workers. The majority of sitters are well qualified and experienced. A lot use it for full time work as they live in an area where the jobs are available to do so (perhaps not now with these high fees however) or on their days off if they are term time workers only or work 3 days and have 2 spare etc.
It isn't an app for failed nannies who can't find work is what I mean. I feel and understand OP's frustration. I am a nursery worker but hate it so it's nice to find some other work through Bubble. What I am finding at the moment though is that parents are enquiring but not actually booking and that's because of the high fees. As I said, Bubble will end up seeing that they have shot themselves in the foot....

Wow, I am so sorry for all the terrible replies you received. I can only empathise because I have just shared a negative post warning about the app too, and got instantly bombarded with aggressive responses. I am honestly shocked. I am being called names and accused of being terrible at childcare, yet paradoxically my post is written in a way kinder way than the replies I received… which clearly shows my professionalism yet some
parents think they can be rude to me and call me rude for no reason. Wow!

I totally empathise with your experience and sadly I had experienced all this and even worse. I was so kind to share my feedback with the team at bubble and was subsequently THROWN off the platform for doing this. The owner keeps taking my reviews off Trustpilot. I am so shocked. And parents don’t have any understanding for this… one told me they are glad I got thrown off the platform! I now feel like I have wasted my time sharing my experience when people here are clearly not in their right minds….
