Please someone make me feel better about what I’ve eaten 😆
this morning I had 2 slices of toast with biscoff spread , then “lunch” I had a small chocolate Cadbury buttons Easter egg , the whole thing in one go😆 I’m very slim and trying to gain weight but have suffered from eating disorders (orthorexia) which means I’m obsessive about eating healthy foods.
ive been avoiding foods with E numbers and additives etc and watching sugar intake , but today I gave in due to hunger and realised that egg had over 50g of sugars and now I’m panicking and feel like I can’t eat anything rest of day cause let’s face it near enough everything has sugar in it 😆 help me feel better please !!

Love any green veggies . Just don’t know what type of protein to have with it should I be adding carbs in too ?

Well - you could have eggs - so omelette or fish or chicken. I wouldn't obsess about protein to go with it. If you fancy e.g. a pie whether homemade or not then have that. And yes, a small bit of carbs, you could have oven chips, baked potato or mashed potato and then the green veggies too.

I've had a mocha, that's it! Chocolate usually gets consumed on an evening and then I can't stop Grin

Capmagturk · 25/03/2024 16:46

I'm trying to gain weight too and eating whatever I want when I want it, you don't need to worry about not eating the rest of the day, just have your normal dinner and if you dont want sugar have protein snacks.

I've had a nectarine, handful of nuts, half a turkey and coleslaw sandwich on granary bread, two mini pepperamis, a four finger kit kat, a scone and packet of Crisps. I'm having a bowl of creamy pesto pasta with chicken and side salad for dinner. I'm tall so need to try eat at least 2500 a day to gain.

I can’t remember the last time I ate any chocolate. It’ll be years ago. I think it’s the result of being brought up with a dentist as a father. Those early habits stick with you for life. If you’ve never had it you never miss it. The idea of sugary cereals for breakfast or sugar in a mug of tea turn my stomach.

Butteredtoast55 · 25/03/2024 16:48

Remarkably little. I had a pain au chocolat for breakfast and I've just had a Sainsbury's Belgian chocolate mini egg (milk. I'm very cross they're only doing mixed boxes this year as they seem to be mainly white and plain).
In between there's been a Pret avocado, cucumber and tomato wrap and a banana. But yesterday I ate an entire (small, but not the tiny one) Lindt bunny.

EmilyPlay · 25/03/2024 16:50

A creme egg and 2 white chocolate digestives.

What is low carbing ? What are the benefits ?

It benefits type2 diabetics and those who have already been identified as being at pre-diabetes level and are at high risk of developing it. For the rest of the population it can help reduce bloating.

You just need to eat normal, ordinary food, with plenty of veg thrown in.

Sgtmajormummy · 25/03/2024 16:52

We usually have a bar of chocolate on the go and we’re always on a quest to try new flavours*. Today it’s a bar of Lindt 72% cocoa and we had 4 squares among 3 people. We find keeping it available but in small quantities stops the bingeing tendencies (of which I’m more than capable!).

  • I once asked DH to bring us some American Hershey’s to see if it really tasted like vomit. Yes it does, but his colleague decided to buy some for his family, too…
BrendaSmall · 25/03/2024 16:54

I get up at 5.30 and it’s too early to eat, I’ve been really busy at work so all I’ve eaten since 6pm yesterday is a penguin biscuit

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 25/03/2024 17:01

None but like you I’m trying to gain weight after an ED relapse so I understand the guilt! You know you need to eat more but then you panic when you do. I did have a full small buttons Easter egg on (I think) Thursday and felt the same, but really it’s fine. Easter egg chocolate is far nicer than any other type!

Ellarose23 · 25/03/2024 17:01

Thank you so much to everyone who’s commented . I can’t tell you how much you have all made me feel better , and less anxious , thank you again :)

Edited

this is exactly it ! I always panic when I eat something high in sugar or any ultra processed food but it’s what I was craving ! Eating disorders are cruel 😭

I had an Easter egg last night, and just eaten a box of maltesers after lunch today.
I've bought Easter eggs as gifts and know full well that I'll be having to go out to replace them 😄. Try to stop worrying, op. Chocolate is nice.

I have had a Cadburys caramel egg and some m&ms. I am stopping myself from eating my big Easter egg. That will be my breakfast on Sunday 😋😆

ShyTed · 25/03/2024 17:35

I’ve eaten 1/2 a Cadburys easter egg (the £3 one) I’ve kept the other 1/2 for my husband to have this evening. I will probably eat the small caramel egg that came with it!

Cuppachucca
Coffee and crisps make me merry 🤣

Ooh, crisps, now we're talking.
Kettle's or Tyrells and I'm there. 😋

MyLadyTheKingsMother · 25/03/2024 18:19

None, sadly

MaryFuckingFerguson · 25/03/2024 18:20

I’ve eaten none, but that’s normal for me. I like chocolate, I just never buy it.

idontlikealdi · 25/03/2024 18:22

None. Don't really like chocolate. Have eaten almost a bag of tangfastics though

MartinaMorningstar · 25/03/2024 18:24

None.

Whiskers4 · 25/03/2024 19:00

I haven't had any chocolate today, but I'm not adverse to eating it.

Appreciate you're trying to avoid sugars for the rest of day, but your body should have something nutritious today, even if only a cheese, egg ir tuna salad, or if you have fish, chicken/other meat that can be served with veggies, jacket potato with cheese.

Arielhills · 25/03/2024 19:07

I’m supposed to be eating better as I’ve let myself go a bit since getting married last year..
I had a custard slice for breakfast (bought for dessert yesterday but I forgot about it and didn’t want it to go off) with a tea with sugar too.. then I was really hungry on my tea break at work but didn’t have anything so I got a bueno out of the vending machine at work (the only chocolate that is acceptable straight out of the fridge and I won’t hear any different).. and I’ve just had a creme egg after my tea. If there was more sweets in the house I’d have them, woke up with a proper sweet tooth today! Craving some maoams.. cherry is my fave

FusionChefGeoff · 25/03/2024 19:40

@Ellarose23 do not look into low carbing. I have a chequered past with food and as a result of low carbing I developed orthorexia and it triggered a bulimia relapse.

GoldenOstrich · 25/03/2024 20:32

I eat chocolate every day at least 4 times a day, and I'm skinny like you.
