Over the years we have only been able to get a second hand washer.

We are now in the position to buy a brand new one.
Reading about all these different programmes is mind boggling.
There are 3 adults.
Can anyone advise which make and model.
Do we need to spend a lot of money on one.
Thanks for your help

To add-my argument of 'I have a Samsung washing machine in my kitchen that is a the same one I have the order invoice for' fell on deaf ears. Did they think I had stolen it and put it in my kitchen after paying £700 (washer-dryer with all bells and whistles).

Bunch of arseholes!!

As a poster above said, it is easy to be baffled by all the choice. Choosing is not just going by brand and model, though. It's budget; size, capacity, weight; programmes, energy rating, decibel rating (if you want quiet or have neighbours adjacent); features that you want or don't such as ultra quick wash, rinse only etc; appearance, such as colour or finish; which side you want the soap drawer; do you want to wash large loads, or large individual items, or do frequent small washes only.

Will it fit in the space you have - need to measure the height, width and depth of the space and compare with the dimensions of the machine. Restrictions of that kind meant I had limited choice of make and model. And I didn't want one as heavy as my previous ancient one. Lots of different considerations narrow it down for you and then you go looking online for one that meets your criteria (and in shop to see the actual machine you're thinking of). Then compare brands and seek out reviews and recommendations

Miele. Still going strong after 24 years. I'm dreading it breaking down though tbf it shows no signs of doing so. I'd definitely buy another.

Everybody always says this but Miele have declined in quality in recent years and they only come with 2 year warranties now. It really put me off. I wish I could buy a brand new Miele of 20 years ago but I can't, so I got a Samsung.

I have an LG that I love.

I made the mistake of buying a Beko once. Never again.

Ebac. British owned and made in UK. Well worth the money.

I’m in this predicament too just now.

I went to currys today and thought I had it narrowed down to 3 Samsungs and 2 Bosch but then I looked on AO and am back to square one!

I definitely want 1400 spin and at least 9kg. That’s all I really know Confused

I had a Miele and it was very solid but it was only 5 kg so I left it at old house. Have a Samsung Eco Bubble and it’s still going 8 years later bar the rubber seal needing to be replaced.

I actually like the idea of being able to start it from my phone if I’m honest. Can do it when at work rather than trying to work out how long to delay for.

I've only ever bought budget Indesit models. They've had a fair amount of use, 4-5 x weekly. We're on our third 30 years after, still going strong. Have cost no more than £1100 for the three of them.
