Are there any posts on this yet? This incredible woman has become the first female finisher of this insane ultra marathon event. Completing it with only 90 seconds to spare. I think that's worth celebrating isn't it!

She’s amazing isn’t she, what an inspiration!

Greycheck · 24/03/2024 12:51

I hadn't heard of it until a post popped up on my Twitter feed earlier this week and became immediately obsessed with the concept and uniqueness. Have been following Twitter along for the journey and what an incredible achievement. So glad I found it this year and could 'watch' along.

This is the same woman who was in the news for stopping to bf her young daughter during another ultra. Truly phenomenal.

DH told me about this yesterday. The race is completely bonkers!

MoonWoman69 · 24/03/2024 13:43

Absolutely amazing woman and what an achievement! She was expressing milk while running and apparently, because of all the heavy breathing she did, during the race, she has lost her voice. Hope she recovers well and revels in her brilliant achievement! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

An incredible achievement. This story really made me smile.

Massive thread already on here following her from start to finish of the race. She is phenomenal.

I’m not trying to make this about me, but as an unfit 42-year-old, I assumed my days of having a good level of fitness were well behind me. I’ll never achieve what Jasmine has done as she’s truly exceptional, but I’m inspired by her to get fit again - it won’t be a demoralising waste of time.

feathermucker · 24/03/2024 14:39

I think she's fantastic. What an achievement!

I know what you mean, when I saw she is 40 aswell it really spurred me on to do my couch25k run!

She is amazing, the race appears to be incredibly tough.

Sad to say, I felt compelled to do a bit of research after reading about it on the BBC. Just to check she is a standard woman, not one of the newfangled ones the media sometimes try to get us to believe in. Delighted to read she is the XX sort.

Sorry for slightly derailing the thread. Huge congratulations to her, I hope she has time to rest and recover now.

I’ve been following this marathon for decades now, read books, even toyed with the idea of applying (in rare moments of racing in the middle of the night madness). This brought a tear to my eye reading. Fabulous. What a mighty woman!!!
