IDidntWearASmileToday · 23/03/2024 20:06

Expecting a baby girl this summer and DP and I have a list, some he loves, some I love but we both like all the names.

Baby has an older sibling with an 'I' name and last name is double barrelled 'T-F' (ruling out all W names!) middle name will be Holly.

Celeste
Diana
Daphne
Ingrid
Frida
Charlotte
Enid
Helena

Feel free to add any other suggestions of what we may like judging by our list.
thanks!

I like Daphne and Ramona although Ramona always seems like an American name to me, maybe because of the Ramones and Im sure there was an early morning American children’s tv programme on Channel 4 years ago called Ramona. I have no idea what DTF means though.

I like Celeste, Charlotte or Helena.

Just want to throw Ramona into the mix

Shut up!
I was going to suggest this! 😂
Such a cool name.
So yeah, that's what I'd go for.
Will also throw in Francesca.
From your original list, I like Celeste, Diana and Charlotte.

Nice list - Diana or Ramona for me - very different vibes though, Diana is cool and elegant, Ramona is earthy and sparkly

other suggestions

Cecile
Yolanda
Claudia
Adela
Allegra
Saskia
Sabrina
Caroline
Astrid
Meredith
Jocelyn
Thora
Lois
Ines
Zoe
Circe

Ramona - yes that is a sparky name

Celeste - not a fan, it’s a bit beauty salon, how about Cecile ?

Diana - love it, due a revival

Daphne - Daffy Duck - no

Ingrid - quite like it, but much prefer Astrid, and would avoid the same initials if you can

Frida - quite like it

Charlotte - lovely but done to death so no

Enid - I really like it but I think it’s the new Edith so suspect it’s about to be done to death

Helena - like it, pronunciation issues will be a bit annoying. also a lot of Ellies and Nells around which is what she might end up being called

Frida is my favourite from your list. I love F names though , see also Freya, Flora and Fleur too.

Ramona is ok. Not as pretty as those above but appreciate you may not be wanting a ‘pretty’ name.

Helena

Isn't it Freda or Frieda?

Isn't it Freda or Frieda?

There's Frida Kahlo, the Mexican artist, so perhaps it depends on cultural background.

I think if the surname is double barrelled, it would be wise to avoid names with spelling variants. We have a complex surname, I have an unusual first name that people frequently misspell.

It becomes incredible boring, along with the comments "oh interesting, what made your mother chose that name/spelling"?

I don't think Enid Holly goes well together. From your list I prefer Charlotte

I think Frida is the standard spelling
