IDidntWearASmileToday · 23/03/2024 20:06

Expecting a baby girl this summer and DP and I have a list, some he loves, some I love but we both like all the names.

Baby has an older sibling with an 'I' name and last name is double barrelled 'T-F' (ruling out all W names!) middle name will be Holly.

Celeste
Diana
Daphne
Ingrid
Frida
Charlotte
Enid
Helena

Feel free to add any other suggestions of what we may like judging by our list.
thanks!

I really love Daphne, Ingrid and Frida! But I'd be avoiding DTF and your older child has the I initial so Frida is my top choice, though I prefer the Freda spelling. I do like Charlotte also.

hellsBells246 · 23/03/2024 21:56

Charlotte
Helena
Diana
Daphne
Ingrid
Frida
Celeste
Enid

How about Ines/Inez? Frida is lovely and I also liked pp suggestion Astrid.

Helpisso · 23/03/2024 22:14

Charlotte and Helena are the only names I like.

Shetlands · 23/03/2024 22:16

I'd go for three names:
Celeste Daphne Holly T-F

How would you pronounce Enid? It's different in Wales. It's pronounced N-id rather than ee-nid.

doriangrey604726 · 23/03/2024 22:53

love - Daphne, Charlotte
like - Helena, Diana
meh - Celeste, Frida
dislike - Ingrid, Enid

arlequin · 23/03/2024 23:00

I like Charlotte. Frida is growing on me although I know 2 babies with this name.

I can't help thinking of Daphne and Celeste as in U-G-L-Y you ain't got no alibi and ooh stick you your mama too (and your daddy!)

Newsenmum · 23/03/2024 23:04

Her middle name would be holly so it wouldn’t be DTF it would be DHTW. Not sure it matters too much. I actually like two two D names best. What’s the worst that would happen? Haha that spells DTF! 🤷‍♀️ and then they move on. Having an actual weird first name is worse.

RichinVitaminR · 23/03/2024 23:04

Celeste and Frida are super cute names that I also considered when naming my daughter (went for a different 'F' name)!

Diana and Daphne are cute too but I agree, I really wouldn't if the initials would be DTF. Kids can be really cruel.

Skybluepinky · 23/03/2024 23:06

None of the names go with Holly, Mayb look at some names that do.

RichinVitaminR · 23/03/2024 23:06

Forgot to mention Ingrid, also a mega cute name that weirdly I also considered! Great minds think alike!

I saw PP say maybe not because you already have another child with an 'I' name but I guess it depends on if they sound in any way similar. I can't really see the issue otherwise. The Kardashians all have 'K' names 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

Serena1977 · 23/03/2024 23:15

As the surnames have 2 syllables each, you should go for a 1 or 3 syllable first name so that leaves Diana or Helena.

I think Diana Holly Taylor-Fisher (random surnames obviously)

LauderSyme · 23/03/2024 23:17

Shityshitybangbang · 23/03/2024 23:35

And

DinaofCloud9 · 23/03/2024 23:37

Enid and Frida are terrible names.

I like Celeste and Helena best.

Cornishpasty342 · 23/03/2024 23:40

going against the grain, Enid is my favourite!

mathanxiety · 23/03/2024 23:49

Celeste Holly T-F
Diana Holly T-F
Daphne Holly T-F
Ingrid Holly T-F
Frida Holly T-F
Charlotte Holly T-F
Enid Holly T-F
Helena Holly T-F

I'd rule out both D names on the basis of DTF, even though I think Daphne Holly is lovely. I don't like Diana.

Celeste and Ingrid both end with consonants that run awkwardly into the T of the surname, as do Charlotte and Enid.

I really love Frida Holly and Helena Holly.
Both would go well with the surname. If I had to pick just one, I'd go with Frida Holly.

Alternatives:
Serena
Louisa
Clara
Madeleine
Aphra
Tamsin
Vivien
Ava
Cecelia
Claudia
Erin
