Best music/band documentary?

Really fancy watching something like this later - any recommendations?

I have seen great documentaries about Mamas & Papas and one about Laurel Canyon.

The Song Remains The Same about Led Zeppelin. Don’t know where you would find it though, maybe YouTube?

Recently I've watched the Sinead O'Connor one, the Robbie Williams ones and a Cat Stevens one, all fantastic.

The Story of Microdisney: The Clock Comes Down the Stairs. It was on BBC 4 over St Patrick's weekend, so probably still on the player.

The George Michael documentary and Wham.
Absolutely brilliant and very nostalgic for me .

I wasn’t a fan before I watched it. Afterwards I haven’t stopped listening reading researching them.

The Last Waltz. The Band concert.
Any of the Dylan documentaries.
I saw an A-ha one a year or so ago. It was good as they had fallen out.

Bros, after the screaming stops. Its an unlikely recommendation and one of the twins is rather odd, but the story of becoming a huge media sensation and what was going in in the background is mental.

Oasis: Supersonic is good

I love the David Foster one on Netflix. He's a bit of an arse but he's had a very interesting career and produced some amazing artists.

I loved Count Me In. If you like drums!

I saw one about Fleetwood Mac recently on TV. I'm not a huge fan or anything, but it was really interesting.

The Bowie one : Moonage Daydream is fabulous

Agree about the bros one. Never seen anything like it.

Crock of Gold with Shane MacGowan is good. There's also a great Thin Lizzy one (Songs for while I'm away) and The Bee Gees how can you mend a broken heart.

All of them great but all very sad in their own ways.

The Dirt on Netflix is great. I think it’s still on there anyway. It’s based on the book of the same name and documents Motley Crue in their heyday. It’s pretty much exactly as you’d imagine 😁

Expect you've seen it but I loved the Beatles Anthology

I loved The Sparks Brothers documentary. Such an interesting and likably weird pair and unexpectedly moving.

Russ Mael waved out of the back of a car at me once. It was great 🥰

I came onto the thread to say The Sparks Brothers! Directed by Edgar Wright. Really great film. I saw Sparks at the Royal Albert Hall last May and they were brilliant 😃
