I love these threads.

DS and I have just returned from swimming lessons. DH has made a lovely minted lamb hotpot. Dog has been walked and I've managed to wash all the bedding and get it line dried, so looking forward to putting that on. Gladiators after tea, then sorting uniform for the morning. Showers all round, glass of rose and the last episode of True Detective Night Country once DS is in bed.

Massively lazy day today. Got up at 10am and have pissed about on Mumsnet all day and watched (very) crap TV. Making bruschetta and meatballs tonight and going to watch Poor Things on Disney+ later.

Floralnomad · 17/03/2024 18:12

I’ve just made a fish pie and put it in the oven . Daughter is building a Lego Taj Mahal , husband is in the garage air brushing something .

Octavia64 · 17/03/2024 18:13

I have the horrible sore throat cold that everyone else seemed to get a few weeks ago.

So I'm eating oven chips and sausages for tea while taking paracetamol and then going back to binge watching on Netflix.

Need to ring mum later to assure her I have not died.

No work or going out for at least a few days for me

loverrr · 17/03/2024 18:14

@scoopoftheday, how marvellous it must be to have lambing sheep! Do you celebrate each one?

MonsteraMama · 17/03/2024 18:15

DD is cooking tonight and as she's easily the best cook in the house I'm very excited. She's making seared sea bass in lemon and herb butter, fondant potatoes and purple sprouting.

Husband is out in the garden making the most of the last of the light to do whatever he's doing out there. Faffing around with the vegetable trugs I think. He's been out there all day in his happy place.

I'm sat on the sofa with the dogs all sprawled out on the floor having a cup of tea and playing House Flipper on the playstation, which I am embarrassingly addicted to.

After dinner we're going to watch a film, haven't decided what yet, husband and daughter want to watch a horror so I suspect I'll be overruled (I want to watch Damsel on Netflix!)

NoddyfromToytown · 17/03/2024 18:15

Cat on lap, football on TV (I despise both teams so am hate watching). Last glass of wine for the foreseeable in hand (I’m giving up). Had pasta for tea which appeared to be missing the mushrooms in the sauce… weird.

Did have a ‘friend‘ coming over (yes that sort of friend) but sacked it off as I am just not in the mood…

ChicagoBears · 17/03/2024 18:19

We’ve been on a long rambling hike with the DC, it was really lovely. We stopped off at the pub for a light bite and we’ve been helping the DC with their homework since we’ve been back.

DH has made roast beef so I’m looking forward to tucking in when it’s ready and then we’ll probably watch a movie (DCs choice).

Inyourwildestdreams · 17/03/2024 18:21

Nice lazy Sunday here 😊 Just back from holiday yesterday so had a chilled morning at home getting through all the laundry and putting things away. Headed off to get a bit of a food shop early afternoon followed by a nice long beach walk and play at the swing park for DS(3yo).
We’ve done some baking this afternoon then DS, DH and I just sat and had dinner 😊
I’m just about to do bathtime for DS while DH cleans up the kitchen then it’s DH on bedtime duty tonight while I have a chilled half hour to myself 😊

Tonight we have some very indulgent cakes that we picked up at the farmers at let yesterday that I plan on getting stuck into while catching up on MAFS Australia 😊 Then we’ll watch the new Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over at 9pm 😊 we love her!

MaMisled · 17/03/2024 18:21

My side hustle is making wooden gifts so DH and I were in the garden stripping, sawing, drilling and sanding all afternoon. Our neighbours must hate us but that noise prep happens only once a fortnight. 2.5 hr walk with the dogs this morning too so we're eating homemade chicken chow mein and keen to get on the sofa!

Natsku · 17/03/2024 18:23

Heated up the sauna this evening, OH and DS went in before dinner and me and DD went after dinner. Currently trying to empty the freezer so dinner was random things I found in the freezer - frozen mash, a bag of vegetables, and some leftover Christmas ham.

Just put DS to bed, done my duolingo, and now I'm going to watch a few episodes of Community with DD and eat some supper, probably biscuits.

lifebeginsaftercoffee · 17/03/2024 18:24

We had takeaway (burgers and chips) for tea. DH is now tinkering in the shed and I'm cuddled up on the sofa with the dog and kind of half watching Finding Dory and half messing around on here.

Youdontknowmedoyou · 17/03/2024 18:26

Work earlier, caring duties for parents, dogs all seen to, DH cooked a delicious roast, DCs are playing online with friends, DH is watching YouTube for DIY inspiration and I am sitting watching the sky change colours out of the window.

GameOfJones · 17/03/2024 18:26

We have just finished our roast dinner.

DDs are watching cartoons, I'm reading my magazine and making notes on things I want to do in the garden this year. DH has been doing some laundry and has cleaned the kitchen after I cooked earlier.

We will be doing DDs' bedtime at 7pm then I'm planning on settling down in front of the TV with some chocolate and a cup of tea. I've been feeling hormonal and rubbish so it's been nice to have a really chilled day today.

vodkaredbullgirl · 17/03/2024 18:28

Doing tea, then I got a night shift.

flea101 · 17/03/2024 18:29

Been to Plymouth Lego festival today just me and husband, took son last year with additional needs and it was so busy he didn't cope well. Came home, cooked sausage traybake, bath and bed for son next ready for school tomorrow (started specialist school, on week 3 and yet to have a peaceful morning going off in the taxi!). Knitting my sock and watching crap tv!!!

Whattodo121 · 17/03/2024 18:29

Been out all afternoon at a rehearsal for a show I’m doing next week, and played in a concert yesterday evening so am quite tired! Roast chicken, chips and salad for dinner followed by sticky toffee pudding and custard. After that I’ll change our bedding, put the washing away and watch some shit telly in bed whilst cuddling the dog 🐶 and then early night as school tomorrow. DS is playing games on his PC and chatting to his friends, DH will tidy up the kitchen and then watch train videos 🤣

MrsBook · 17/03/2024 18:32

Love these threads! Just quite nice to imagine all these families having a chilled out Sunday evening.

We've hosted a St Patrick's Day lunch with friends today. All families with young children which meant party was over by 4. We've cleaned up the house and are now grazing on all the left over food and chilling out.

DD is watching art videos on YouTube. DH is reading a book and I have been playing on the Switch.

Then it will be bedtime routine. Then DH will have a guiness, I'll have wine. And we are thinking of watching the old Tim Burton's Batman on DVD tonight.

TakingTheHorseToFrance · 17/03/2024 18:38

Bank holiday weekend here in Ireland. Went to a St. Patrick's Day parade, had dinner in my mil's, napped on the couch, brought dog for a walk. More sitting on the couch for the evening.

Dogskidsdogs · 17/03/2024 18:38

We have had a lovely chilled out weekend this weekend.

Today was football this am before doing a food shop. Then I managed an afternoon nap whilst DC chilled out gaming (together with no arguing 😱😅). Lasagne for tea as per the teens request. He's having a bit of a hormonal surge ATM so anything to keep him happy and fed is worth it!

Now I'm sorting out uniforms before bedtime routines. Once the youngest is in bed I have plans for a long hot shower and pamper session 😍

Therealjudgejudy · 17/03/2024 18:39

I live in Ireland so happy Paddy's Day all!!

Had a lie in, then spent an hour on the phone with my mum. Put on washing, cleaned the kitchen, usual housework. Then went to tescos for a few bits. Currently cooking chicken and cherry tomato pesto pasta for dinner.

Will then pack my gym bag for the morning and watch a few youtube vlogs 🙂

Eachpeachpears · 17/03/2024 18:40

Currently perched on the end of dd's bed holding her hand while she goes to sleep while house rabbits sniff my feet! Just watched the footy for the first time in ages and DC actually let us watch it. We've had a lush wholesome family Sunday which is a world away from where we were a week ago when dh had just been discharged from hospital having been at deaths door. Incredible the difference 7 days can make!
I've got the excitement of my next tattoo being done tomorrow which symbolizes the lovely freshness of autumn and the joy it brings me a d my mum. I'm feeling incredibly greatful

MessyNeate · 17/03/2024 18:42

Busy day yesterday

Boys got home from their dads about midday, ds (13) is out with his friends but should have been home 10 mins ago!

Ds (17) is playing on his Xbox

I'm watching Netflix on my bed. We are waiting for a takeaway to arrive.

I also need to dry school uniform still but I can't be bothered to move

RabbitsRock · 17/03/2024 18:42

Evening all - nice to have a thread that continues on from lucysmam in the morning. I didn’t get any decluttering done after all but might go through some of the carrier bags from our room in front of the tv later. Also remembered that I was going to sort out the shoe basket in the hall. Hopefully will have more to add to the charity shop stuff in my car boot which will be taken to the Air Ambulance shop tomorrow. Done 5 loads of washing & now only have the whites to do. Dishwasher needs doing again. Changed my mind about tea & now having chips & peas with the chicken breasts instead of roasties, carrots & broccoli. DD15 may have some chips. Unsure if she & her GF are still together. DH is in the garage on his “turbo bike”. The bunnies have had a lovely time hopping around the garden in the sunshine. Gladdens my heart to watch them. I got 12 books of piano music out of the library on Friday & am contemplating playing for a bit 🎹

Borracha · 17/03/2024 18:43

Our nanny works Sunday afternoons so DH and I and went to the beach for a few hours (we aren’t in the UK) then we went to the pub for an hour. Came home, took the eldest and youngest (8 and 2) for a quick swim. Then dinner, bath and bed time. DH and I then ordered pizza and watched the football.

TeenLifeMum · 17/03/2024 18:43

I’ve been doing some uni assignment prep, dc chilling after dance and drama rehearsals earlier (dd2 ill), dh sorting clean washing and getting uniforms ready.

Now eating slow cooker casserole I made earlier and watching the new Dodger series. Time to chill before Monday craziness arrives. Already looking forward to Friday night 🙈
