What do you think your life will look like in 2030?

I’ll have a nine year old and a six year old. I’ll be 49, turning 50. Hoping life will be easier in many ways and not quite as full on!

I hope to be part time at work although I’ll ask for three days spread over four so I can drop off and pick up at school, very much hoping (and longing) for one day off a week.

Hope we will have more money!

2030 sounds like decades away, but it's only six years.

I will (hopefully) be close to having my mortgage paid off and in a position to consider retiring. But I'm not sure if my pension will allow for a comfortable lifestyle. It's something I'll have to investigate. I worked part-time for a few years when DD was small, and an unplanned separation threw a spanner in the works. It might be necessary to work for a few more years to supplement my pension and build up a modest nest egg, so I have a cushion to pay for things like house repairs/car maintenance bills and to enjoy a little bit of travelling in my retirement, like I've always dreamed of.

DD will be 25. She should be finished college at that point and working. Maybe travelling and living abroad?

DDad will be 90 if he's still alive.......

I hope my siblings will be alive. Most of them are older than me and one has a chronic illness.

DCats will be 12 so they could potentially still be alive.

This could make for an interesting time capsule.

If I'm still alive (I have cancer so may not be) I will be 70 so will - at last - have retired. My DH will be 77. The plan is that if we are able, we will be going away for weekend trips, going to the theatre, enjoying ourselves in a very gentle way. Still swimming every week and hopefully still going to WEFTE. (Water exercise for the elderly).

We will be turning 40 and DS will be 17. We will have either moved house or built a substantial extension. I could be in the same job or a radically different one, DH will be in the same job. Don't imagine our day to day life will have changed much.

I'll be 47, DH 64, DC will be 19 and 20. Hopefully DH will be fully retired by then!

I expect the next few years to be fair eventful in terms of currently having two teen girls so I've got my fingers crossed we will all emerge relatively unscathed. Time will tell!

Interesting question!! Am in the middle of an acrimonious financial aspect of divorce do hope it will be settled by then and I’ll be retired and going on cruises!
