Do you have your daily shower/bath in morning or evening?

Morning here..

But wondering if it should be evening? So I'm sparkling for bed (I just wash face and hands before bed)... Or should I just shower twice a day?

Morning here too! menopausal heat overnight contributes to that decision! 😀

3-4 x a week I shower later on but mostly thats after a swim/ exercise.

Maxapple · 15/03/2024 07:41

We both shower twice a day. My partner is a nurse so has to after work. I’m a teacher and also feel after a day at school with all the germs and usually a walk home, I want to go to bed feeling clean!

IanCurtisdancing · 15/03/2024 07:43

In the summer, twice a day. In the winter I don’t bet sweaty or dirty enough to need one in the evening before bed. I think it’s better to leave the house clean and fresh

This is exactly me too- it just feels wrong to go to work without showering. In the miniature summer we had last year when it was boiling hot I also showered after work too as I felt sweaty, hot and bothered. Or, if ive been taking stuff to the tip or running about a lot I'll shower twice. Otherwise, mornings only.

Morning for me. I hate doing things in the evening, but not as much as I hate going to bed with damp hair.

mirror245 · 15/03/2024 08:09

Always evening. I have read that having a shower at night and putting on deodorant helps with sweating the next day. If I have a shower in the morning and wash my hair I feel hot and sweaty most of the day.

Noicant · 15/03/2024 08:11

Mornings, can’t face the day without a shower, on Fridays I like to have a shower in the evening too, helps me to relax.

ScarletILumination · 15/03/2024 08:13

Mostly evening unless I've got an important day and have the time and desire to shower first thing.

I have more time in the evening and like being clean for bed.

I am having trouble understanding showering in the morning, then having all the days sweat, discharge, juices, etc on you and having sex without washing yes. There's no way in hell I could do that. Maybe I'm dirtier than everyone else!

I don't have much of that going on with my body but we are all different.

honeylulu · 15/03/2024 09:14

Quick shower in morning with hair wash. Washes off the night sweat and my hair is greasy type and much better for a daily wash. Plus my fringe is always sticking up like a fright wig in the morning.

Then shallow bath before bed, rinses off the grime and sweat of the day. Also find it very relaxing as it seems to warm my core body temperature which is conducive to sleep. On the odd occasion I go to bed without a bath I find it hard to drop off as I feel too cold. And getting into bed nice and clean means only needing to change the sheets once a fortnight. Husband also baths before bed.

I know posters will think I'm doing shocking things to the environment with all that water but (a) my shower is very quick (b) I use my daughter's bath water topped up with a bit more hot and H does the same after me - I know posters will think this is disgusting but we are a family and love each other and are not disgusted by each others bodies which are always relatively clean from daily washing, (c) I am a sweaty person and prone to BO after several hours so trust me it's much better for everyone else's environment for me to wash twice daily, (d) sink washes are a total faff and end up with water on the floor - a quick shower is neater and does a more thorough job.

Coconutter24 · 15/03/2024 09:21

Doesn’t really matter what others do alsong as what you do works for you?

ASmallCake · 15/03/2024 09:22

I usually have a quick cold shower in the morning, then a longer one after exercise. I often use the hot tub in the evening so have another quick cold rinse in the outdoor shower to get any moisturiser etc and then another rinse after the hot tub to wash the chemicals off.
My showers are really quick though, under a minute unless I'm using washing my hair, shaving etc. Just wet my body rub a soapy sponge all over and rinse then out.

NineofPopes · 15/03/2024 09:24

Bath every night and a quick morning shower.

hastalamista · 15/03/2024 09:27

I prefer in the evening, I'm not a sweat the bed (deodorant is more effective if applied at night as well) but if its very hot and I have been sweaty I'll jump in the shower in the morning. Top tip is to have a cool shower in the evening if it is hot, its much easier to fall asleep and stay cooler.

It really depends though if you tend to sweat a ton at night then a morning shower is probably better.

Aroundthewaygirl · 15/03/2024 10:06

I shower morning and evening. My morning shower is really quick to get the nether regions mainly. But when I was a kid we only showered in the evening and washed up in the mornings

fleurneige · 15/03/2024 10:07

Morning- straight after I get up. And every single day.

I’m morning shower so an evening bath or shower is treat.
but I think I may have one tonight as it’s Friday.
it’s just cost that stops me doing this regularly.

tittybumbum · 15/03/2024 16:02

@Tarmacadamia

FFS. "12 hour old bum"?? Why are people so horrified by their own bodies?!

Who is disgusting by their body? I just don't like a sweaty arse crack

Why bother washing at all if you don't mind smelly bum.

Added to which, I don't like stinky arm pits either. I would smell by morning if I washed at night and sweated for 12 hours. I don't like applying deodorant over smelly pits. I just can't see how it works for you.

Caffeineneedednow · 15/03/2024 16:04

Morning unless I've been to the gym or something after work

CactusClaire · 15/03/2024 16:15

Youre assuming everyone has a shower/bath daily. I dont. I just dont have the time with little kids/being tired. I shower every other day. I dont smell/get overly sweaty. Wash in the sink with a flannel

ChoccieEgg49 · 15/03/2024 16:19

Mostly in the evening before bed, then a quick freshen up wash in the morning for me 😊

ChoccieEgg49 · 15/03/2024 16:26

We know a couple who share bath water. Each to their own, but the thought of bathing in someone else's body grime grosses me out!

MrsHughesPinny · 15/03/2024 16:28

Evening, but I shower after I get home from work and before I make dinner (if I’m not going anywhere, obviously). Then into my comfies for the evening.

I’m not a morning person so I just wash at the sink in the morning, I spend as little time as possible on getting ready for work, they’re all minutes I could stay in bed!

SKG231 · 15/03/2024 16:29

Evening 100%. I would hate the thought of going to bed with the days grime on me. There’s nothing better than being freshly showered and getting into bed.
