Do you have your daily shower/bath in morning or evening?

Morning here..

But wondering if it should be evening? So I'm sparkling for bed (I just wash face and hands before bed)... Or should I just shower twice a day?

I prefer the morning but if I don't have time I'll shower in the evening. I don't feel clean in the morning if I haven't showered though

But then , the thought of sweaty overnight grime eg sex, hot flush, general bed fetidness would make you stinky in the morning and to those who come in contact with you. Your bits must rank.

Don’t be ridiculous - I’m pretty sure the PP would shower in the morning if she had sex. Other than that unless you are particularly sweaty or it’s particularly hot, nothing is going to be rank.

This thread is going the complete opposite way a thread a couple of weeks ago went, when a bunch of grimy individual's claimed a daily shower was excessive and ridiculous and twice a week was fine. Gross!!!

Shower Every morning for me, plus face wash at night.

Yes
I remember that
Hot topic at work as we couldn't believe some of the hygiene standards- Gross.

Sex - distant memory. So a thorough flannel wash of all bits in the morning.

Morning. Cant function without one!

Copperoliverbear · 14/03/2024 23:04

I shower twice a day

BillieJ · 14/03/2024 23:09

When I was busier, morning. Kids were younger, and I often wouldn't sit down until 9-10pm. And I often had to taxi them here and there. Now many of my evenings are at home, and during the day, I work from home. So, in the evening after dinner and before sitting down for the evening - bath or shower and into PJs.

NoWordForFluffy · 14/03/2024 23:12

Always morning. I'm a hot sleeper, so would feel grim without a shower in the morning.

I also take the dog for a fast walk / jog in the morning, so need a shower after that.

Always shower before bed. Thought of sleeping in the grime of my day not particularly appealing.

But then you go to work the next day with 12 hour old bum and pits. Do you apply deodorant at night or morning?

MissionaryMumtoOne · 14/03/2024 23:13

I live in a hot and humid country, it’s not unusual to shower 4 or 5 times through the day and at night. But in the UK, at night, or both if on my period.

Sunshineclouds11 · 14/03/2024 23:15

I was a morning shower person before the kids, now I shower on a nighttime.
Sink freshen in the mornings

Evening. Wash the day off and clean for sex.

So you go to sleep after sex and wake up and go to work? With old sex juices on you?????

FunnysInLaJardin · 14/03/2024 23:17

every other day in the morning. Used to be evening when I had to be out earlier in the morning

mondaytosunday · 14/03/2024 23:18

Im the only one in my bed (ok, the dog joins me). But I'd feel yucky going out in the world without a shower in the morning.
When my (late) husband and I first got together he'd shower twice a day.

NC03 · 14/03/2024 23:18

Evening. I exercise after work so it makes sense to exercise then shower

tittybumbum · 14/03/2024 23:21

Can someone detail exactly how a sink wash works.

Do you fill the sink, get soap lather in your pits then wash off with a flannel?

How about the nether regions? Do you lather up your butt? Doesn't water end up running down your arms and legs? If you don't use enough water don't you end up with soap residue left on?

Honestly it sounds way harder than just hopping in the shower as the water goes down the drain and everything rinses thoroughly

GrumpyMiddleAgedCow · 14/03/2024 23:21

Mornings for me, it makes me feel awake and I do feel better/fresh through the day. If I exercise I wise have a shower before bed but I don’t wash my hair so fall sleep with dried in hair sweat…? 😂

PS Mumsnet if you think that makes me minging that’s ok but I don’t care 😂😂

Milkand2sugarsplease · 14/03/2024 23:24

Evening here - no time to faff with blow drying really long hair in a morning with a toddler and school child to get out the door before getting to work myself.

Wash in the morning, get 2yo up, brekkie, lunches in bags and out the door.

Well done to all you's that manage showers in the morning with children!! - I'd rather be in bed longer, especially after many broken nights sleep.

middleofthenightmediumsizedtoblerone · 14/03/2024 23:26

I do both. Whatever I feel like on the day.

The same as you wash someone in bed

Hot water, a very well wrung out flannel and soap. Soap up, rinse off with the flannel

If you're mobile then you can sit on the toilet and use a jug or bidet bottle

*I will have a shower before bed.

also no judgement to those who prefer to shower at night, if you’re happy I’m happy 😂

MuggedByReality · 14/03/2024 23:38

Shower in the morning, always. I am not a morning person. Never have been, never will be. A shower is therefore an essential part of waking me up & enabling me to function before 9am.

Librarybooker · 14/03/2024 23:39

Mostly morning, occasionally afternoon. But I also like a bath about once a week. That tends to be a weekend afternoon.

Alicewinn · 14/03/2024 23:42

Bath before bed, helps me sleep

Moier · 14/03/2024 23:46

Morning.. sets you up for the day.. washes all those dead skin cells off.
I once tried a sink wash.. but by time I've messed about doing all that.. was quicker for a quick shower..
In hot weather I'll have a cool shower on an evening too.
