PJ Harvey is cool, shania may bring a horse on stage to sing to which is always a plus

Shania has a singing horse?! Shock

MummyInTheNecropolis · 14/03/2024 18:45

Line up looks much too young for me - half of the acts are people my 18 year old DD listens to. Not that I’d be going anyway!

larkstar · 14/03/2024 19:09

Måneskin will be a great headline act one day... they were there last year - Damiano David is a great live frontman - they're a lot more than a band that won Eurovision.

Last night, Måneskin kicked off the North American leg of their Rush! World Tour @MadisonSquareGarden leaving New Yorkers with a ringing in their ears that ...

For me it would be pj Harvey, 2 door cinema club, Bombay bicycle club, orbital and faithless, the breeders, Arlo parks, Paul Heaton.
Yard act and the last dinner party, possible idles and nothing but thieves out of curiosity.

To be honest I'd probably be glad I could have an early night most nights 😂

BlowDryRat · 14/03/2024 20:20

I thought the same. I don't have tickets to Glasto but am dragging DH and the DC to see Avril Lavigne in Bedford. I'm quite happy with that choice.

I too wasn't blown away by the lineup, but after copying and pasting the list there are quite a few I'd like to see (from my sofa so won't get to see anything from half of them going by previous years bbc coverage).

DUA LIPA
COLDPLAY
LCD SOUNDSYSTEM
LITTLE SIMZ
PJ HARVEY
CYNDI LAUPER
ARLO PARKS
BAR ITALIA
BLOC PARTY
BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB
THE BREEDERS
BRITTANY HOWARD
FAT WHITE FAMILY
FONTAINES D.C
GOSSIP
THE LAST DINNER PARTY
MICHAEL KIWANUKA
THE NATIONAL
NEWDAD
YARD ACT

This looks pretty good tbh.

Fontaines DC rock live. Would love to see Michael Kiwanuka.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 14/03/2024 21:32

I was expecting that they would have Rate again. Seems not.

MuggedByReality · 14/03/2024 21:37

You know you’re getting old when the line-up of Glastonbury headliners is announced and you realise you have never heard of one of them & wouldn’t recognise her if you stood next to her in the supermarket queue.

I can’t help wondering if they tried to get Taylor Swift, who is obviously playing gigs in the UK this summer already, but she turned them down. I’m SZA is an adequate substitute, though. Whoever she is. 🤷🏻‍♀️

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 15/03/2024 02:41

Taylor Swift is deathly dull. I can't understand the hype.

Oblomov24 · 15/03/2024 05:22

Very poor lineup.

40pdf · 15/03/2024 06:27

My DD would love this line up. I’d not heard of SZA but she sold out Hyde park last weekend so she definitely has a big fan base. I’m going to see PJ Harvey in Gunnersbury park and I can’t wait. I actually saw her years ago at Glastonbury and she was amazing. I haven’t been for years but Glastonbury is amazing and the headliners are only a part of the experience (although I have to say Shania Twain wouldn’t be someone I’d pay to see normally).

Carsarelife · 15/03/2024 06:31

I'd go for
Bloc Party
Two door cinema club
Keane
Black rebel motorcycle club

But yes super underwhelming

Fupoffyagrasshole · 15/03/2024 11:16

i've never been bothered about the Headline acts - thats not why i go - there are millions of other things on at Glastonbusy that isn't even listed on there or put on the tv - last year i didn't go to the pyramid stage even once - i was off at Arcadia and south east corner mostly ! during the day i was just wandering around exploring sometimes would stop at some stages to see random stuff

the line up is definitely not that important tbh

Riverlee · 15/03/2024 11:19

WhatFlavourIsIt · 14/03/2024 13:25

Don't impress me much!

Clever!

hmb255 · 15/03/2024 11:25

I'm glad I didn't get tickets this year, I would have been so disappointed. I love Paloma Faith, the kids would have loved Dua Lipa and I'm sure Coldplay will be great but not really my cup of tea. Doesn't compare to last year's line up in my opinion.

That performance Elton John put on is nigh on impossible to follow.

DaftFlerken · 15/03/2024 14:24

there's so so so much more fun to Glastonbury than just the day time bands

And at the same time on the Other Stage you had QUOTSA! How on earth to choose?

The one that doesn't include the domestic abuser Josh Homme.

Comefromaway · 15/03/2024 22:34

You mean the one who got sole custody of his kids and had to get a restraining order against his ex.

AmaryllisChorus · 15/03/2024 23:09

There's a handful of sets I'd want to see there. I love Keane and Michael Kiwanuka. Squid are great live. I'd like to see Cyndi Lauper, maybe Coldplay. Steel Pulse out of nostalgia for all those free Rock against Racism festivals in Victoria Park at the end of marches in 1980s/90s. Always feel like I should listen to PJ Harvey properly, as she is really talented. I'd watch Shania Twain and maybe Paul Heaton, though whenever I hear him I always wish he was still singing with Briana Corrigan.

Kiwanuka is just lovely live. He has such a gorgeous warm stage presence and such a brilliant voice. He'd be my top choice from that line up.

That's nothing. They never get Flaming Lips at Glasto and they have a real live unicorn on stage. Grin

NadjasFamiliar · 15/03/2024 23:13

Oof that line up is 👎. I'd be peeved if I had paid for tickets tbh. Shania Twain and Coldplay? Yeesh

They've already played at Glastonbury. Don't know if they had a unicorn though tbf 🤔 🦄
