Looking forward to seeing some of these acts from the comfort of my sofa!

RaraRachael · 14/03/2024 12:34

I'd never heard of SZA either. I suppose Shania is an improvement on some of the aged legends they've had recently.

HeartofSaturdayNight · 14/03/2024 12:36

Is it 2016 again?

Very uninspiring although I'm probably not their target market these days. I would like to see The Breeders though so will see if they're touring.

I think I'm over Glastonbury as an attendee. I loved it pre-Park stage. It seemed to get too big and crowded thereafter.

Don't impress me much!

RaininSummer · 14/03/2024 13:39

I would be happy with PJ Harvey and Shania but either haven't heard of or don't care about the others.

Feelingwobblyandstrange · 14/03/2024 13:56

It's not worth the ticket price this year. It feels like they've scrambled around and not thought it through so got whoever was left over.

Feelingwobblyandstrange · 14/03/2024 13:57

Scorchio84 · 14/03/2024 12:04

Came on to say the same.. a few decent artists but over all a big fat meh from me, the shine seems to have gone off Glastonbury to be honest

100% this. The festival is no longer about the music it's about getting your face seen.

Grin They need a big act - all a bit pedestrian this year. I was hoping for Madonna
EachandEveryone · 14/03/2024 14:35

I think Emily was hoping for Madonna as well. She seems to have done a Prince on her.

its the headliners that are meh. I guess everyone has done it though.

Breeders are touring! I've got tickets 😁

YouDidntEvenAskIfSheWasThereMoriarty · 14/03/2024 14:42

There's a few on there I'd like to see. But I wouldn't pay Glastonbury ticket prices to see them.

I am pleased to see Heilung on there. I wonder how that's going to go down with the Glastonbury crowd!

CapitalKnockers · 14/03/2024 14:44

Idles are insane live 🤘

MakeTheRumourTrue · 14/03/2024 15:09

Seems good to me. I love Coldplay. 🤷🏻‍♀️😅

Nothing But Thieves have some great songs and are very underrated imo.

I’m looking forward to it.

LadyBird1973 · 14/03/2024 15:20

Coldplay cost me £300 (me, dh and dd) last summer alone, so it's probably value for money if you like festivals (I don't!)
I'd like to see PJ Harvey and Cyndi Lauper and Dua Lipa

Catmama123 · 14/03/2024 15:22

I'm not going. And agree it's not a very exciting line up this year.. but after seeing Coldplay last year I would say they put on an incredible show!!

mitogoshi · 14/03/2024 15:38

Never heard of sza until a few weeks ago, not my cup of tea. I like shania Twain. Coldplay are ok but a bit meh

thing47 · 14/03/2024 16:10

beguilingeyes · 14/03/2024 12:29

I saw Cyndi Lauper at Shepherd's Bush Empire a few years ago. Her voice live is something else. So powerful.

Me too, wasn't she brilliant!

There are some big acts playing this summer, wonder if some of them will get added to the line-up – Kylie, Robbie/Take That, Bruce. And AC/DC of course 😂

NecklessMumster · 14/03/2024 16:17

I don't have a ticket. But perversely used to quite like it when there was not loads I wanted to see on the line up, it took the pressure off of rushing to different stages so could just mooch about discovering acts and unexpected stuff, best experiences.

ginasevern · 14/03/2024 16:35

I was at the very first one when it was called the Pilton Festival.

longtompot · 14/03/2024 17:24

I too wasn't blown away by the lineup, but after copying and pasting the list there are quite a few I'd like to see (from my sofa so won't get to see anything from half of them going by previous years bbc coverage).

DUA LIPA
COLDPLAY
LCD SOUNDSYSTEM
LITTLE SIMZ
PJ HARVEY
CYNDI LAUPER
ARLO PARKS
BAR ITALIA
BLOC PARTY
BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB
THE BREEDERS
BRITTANY HOWARD
FAT WHITE FAMILY
FONTAINES D.C
GOSSIP
THE LAST DINNER PARTY
MICHAEL KIWANUKA
THE NATIONAL
NEWDAD
YARD ACT

LlynTegid · 14/03/2024 18:08

Have to agree OP that the line-up is uninspiring largely. I consciously uncoupled myself from listening to Coldplay years ago.

Emily1583 · 14/03/2024 18:12

Everyone raves about how it's not about the main stages etc but really the rest of the festival is just your overpriced food stalls, clothing stalls you can buy cheaper at the stalls online stores, and less well known acts on the smaller who you can probably see at your local small festival during the summer.

Appalonia · 14/03/2024 18:25

V happy to see Jessie Ware, Michael Kiwanuka and Jungle. Rest not that bothered about. A lot of pp on Twitter who have bought tickets I seem pretty pissed off about it.

larkstar · 14/03/2024 18:37

I like Coldplay but come on - this is lazy and boring having them on again.
Dua Lipa is IMHO a great vocalist with a suitcase full of great songs...

Frankly Chrissie Hynde was the best thing on last year - no Lana Del Rey "doing my hair" nonsense (she's great BTW IMHO) - she just rocked up in jeans and a t - and knocked out some great songs - it was a Bowie-esque performance - the real deal.

Only other names I'd probably enjoy are Romy and Olivia Dean but it looks like a really lineup to me. Taylor Swift is the only headliner I really want to see.
