Gotta be

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
The Good Place

there are other shows I love but I think these two don’t have a single bad episode. It’s all brilliant right from the pilot to the finale

Love/hate

This! Just finished binge watching it. I love it! I also loved The Wire, The Office and People Just Do Nothing. Oh, and The Thick Of It. They were all consistently good.

Sopranos - head and shoulders above anything/everything else

Excellent series. I've lost count of how many times I've seen this. You may enjoy Gomorrah on Now

Frasier

The West Wing. It was the best show ever, I loved every episode from start to finish. Also Parks and Rec, Frasier, the Big Bang Theory. These are all programmes that I could watch any one single episode at any time and enjoy it.

There are other series that I loved - The Americans, Schitts Creek, Breaking Bad, The Sopranos - but these all took me a little while to get into - but once I did, they were amazing.

Hill street blues or Life on Mars.

hairbearbunches · 13/03/2024 14:37

A bit left field but Upstart Crow is fucking hilarious. There's 3 series and we binged the whole lot in a week. It's like Blackadder but with Shakespeare instead, Ben Elton behind both. David Mitchell as Shakespeare and Liza Tarbuck as his wife. Give it a go, you won't regret it. We absolutely pissed ourselves.

doris9034 · 13/03/2024 14:44

Line of Duty (except for the last episode!)
The West Wing
Downton Abbey
Call the Midwife
Happy Valley

Mydogisagentleman · 13/03/2024 15:26

Happy Valley
The detectorists
Plebs - until shredder left
The Traitors

I'm going to drop this in here (and then run) but i really enjoyed Lost - that is until the ending ( which wasn't the original ending planned).

Another vote for The West Wing.

Also for consideration:
The three musketeers - TV series, not movies.
Vera
Mr Bates Vs the post office
Spooks - another one they ruined by the end.
Fearless
The Tudors was fun
Widows 1, 2 & She's Out
Silk

Lost actually destroyed my faith in television. I really genuinely believed it was going somewhere.

It actually broke my heart a bit!

I really liked Truelove, which was on about 2 months ago. It was about assisted dying.

Starboy14 · 13/03/2024 16:08

The Sopranos and Narcos for me. I would have added on The Wire, only season 2 was crap. Great series otherwise.

Trulyme · 13/03/2024 16:13

Breaking bad.
Desperate housewives.
Lost.
Friends.

Prison break mostly but lost it a bit at the end.

I loved lost but was a bit disheartened because it was so good and then fell flat.

But I rewatched it recently and really enjoyed it.

I think knowing that it’s not going to have as an amazing ending as I originally thought helped a lot.
I think some things made more sense too.

Trulyme · 13/03/2024 16:16

The office (Uk) and extras.

Call the midwife.

ApocalypseNowt · 13/03/2024 16:17

El Marginal, The Shield or Oz.

None of them are easy watches but they're absolutely cracking dramas with some great performances.

I might give it another go. I think it's on Disney.

I was obsessed with it back in the day!
