Is it between your thighs? It looks like when I get chub rub.

Wishiwasatailor · 11/03/2024 21:27

Keratin pillaris?

MiserableMarch · 11/03/2024 21:42

Wish it doesn't look as hard and bumpy as that condition but I'm no expert and would not rule it out

You can have body acne, I don't know what your GP is talking about. I've had acne on my back and bum cheeks for years.

MiserableMarch · 11/03/2024 21:45

@Nogodsnomasters he said back yes rest no

Folliculitis is very common on thighs apparently.

This will soon have the skin completely clear

May cause dryness so always moisturise after the cream has been rubbed in.

MiserableMarch · 11/03/2024 21:57

@DrJoanAllenby Thanks is that for the spots in pic. She's been given antibiotics and ancesice sp. Cream but he didn't look and said can't be acne

You can get acne pretty much anywhere.

Not saying that’s what this is, I can’t tell from the photo. But you can get acne there

MaloneMeadow · 11/03/2024 22:12

Ameliorate will be your best friend. Miracle stuff!!

The other week I got a zit on my wrist! Quite unexpected. So I think one can get acne in many different places on the body.

MigGirl · 11/03/2024 22:14

What the flip, you can have acne anywhere you have skin. I've had spots in the oddest places, I had.bad acne as a teen and still have it (not as bad) as an adult.

It's for congested pores and pimples that are on any part of the skin.

It's fantastic. It can bleach fabrics and it can be drying. But it stops blackheads and pustules from forming.

This is the same as Acnecide which you said she already has

I suggest trying SA Smoothing Cream made by Cerave (can get it in Boots). If it’s keratosis pilaris that will help pretty quickly

SauronsArsehole · 11/03/2024 22:45

Synthetic school trousers, tights etc can cause this on the tops of the thighs from sweating and friction of the fabric.

it might not be acne in the hormonal sense but could easily be infected and inflamed pores for environmental reasons eg crappy fabric school trousers.

MiserableMarch · 12/03/2024 06:36

@DrJoanAllenby @minipie

Does she put the anecide cresm all over her face or just on spots there?

OP posts:
21ZIGGY · 12/03/2024 06:47

As someone else has said, Ameliorate will clear this up in a week. Keep using it though

MiserableMarch · 12/03/2024 06:47

@minipie thank you I'm going to get that ceravee as well. Is that also a more general moisturiser?
Could she use that on her back after using anecide?

@MaloneMeadow @21ZIGGY wow that has got amazing reviews as well thanks

He's so wrong. You can have chest acne also. Tops of arms etc. anywhere you have pores and hair follicles, acne can develop. It may not be common, but it's not not possible.

MiserableMarch · 12/03/2024 10:53

She has chest acne

MaloneMeadow · 12/03/2024 11:07

Be careful with the acnecide - it can be very harsh and stripping so make sure she doesn’t use it too much. It actually ended up making my DD’s body acne worse

purpletrees16 · 12/03/2024 13:47

can’t help on creams but if she’ll wear nearly all cotton shorts or cotton short like knickers that may help it go down. Maybe only on days she doesn’t have PE if she’s worried.

minipie · 12/03/2024 14:36

Hi, I probably wouldn’t use the Cerave SA Smoothing cream as a general moisturiser as it’s quite thick. But it’s great for any dry, rough or bumpy patches. If the acnecide does cause any irritation or dryness it will help sort that out.

Personally I suspect the leg spots are more likely to be caused by a sweat rash/folliculitis or keratosis pilaris than be acne per se. Could even be fungal acne given location.
