How to safely purchase resale concert tickets

Someone has some concert tickets for sale. They seem legit. A Facebook record with years and years of posts on it etc, loads of photos at concerts.

They have shown me proof of the ticket purchase and are saying they can transfer them on ticket master as soon as they receive payment for the tickets (via BACS).

I don't feel particularly safe doing it that way as obviously I could transfer the money and they could keep the tickets.
Is there any other way?

I've only ever paid via the site I buy from , never directly to seller .

I use ticket master and ticket swap both seem to have same safe sale process !

Which concert? If it is one of the big name stadium tours this summer, none of the tickets are available on Ticketmaster yet to transfer and you can only do so a few days before the gig. I'm holding some Taylor tickets for a friend and I'm terrified something will go wrong with the transfer.

Always buy through an official resale channel. Never FB or Viagogo.

It's for Taylor Swift in June.
So would she not be able to transfer them now?!

I have received my axs tickets for Taylor swift in my account for London in August. I don't have the ticketmaster tickets yet for edinburgh. I would be really cautious about buying tickets in this way. There may be tickets come up in ticketmaster resale, or twickets as we get closer to the date. There are already tickets on stubhub which offer buyer protection of the seller doesn't send but they are £££

LadyGreySpillsTheTea · 10/03/2024 11:31

No, she would not be able to transfer them now, so that’s a big red flag. It’s only safe doing that kind of ‘informal‘ transfer with someone you know well and trust (like Dearover is doing).

DD had three surplus TS tickets for Edinburgh and it wasn’t worth the hassle for her to do a transfer with an unknown party so she sold them back to Ticketmaster and they went back in the official resale pool.

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 10/03/2024 11:34

Those fb ones are hacked accounts - don't go near it with a barge pole.

commonground · 10/03/2024 11:38

She can sell them back to Ticketmaster and they will resell them. This is much more straightforward for her, so odd she isn't doing that. I have used twickets and ticketmaster resale, both check out legit (and you don't pay over the odds)

Thanks all, blocked!

No Taylor transfers can be made until a day or 2 before the gig to prevent ticket fraud.

Globules · 10/03/2024 15:51

I've been trying to buy TS tickets via FB in the last month.

They are ALL scammers, even the people who are the admins of FB sites.

They expect you to transfer your money, but are up in arms if you ask then to transfer the ticket before you pay them.

I've resigned myself to seeing what's available a day or 2 before the shows.

BakedBeanAddict · 10/03/2024 16:06

Are Taylor Swift tickets going to be resold for a lot more money do we reckon, or close to asking price? Does ticketmaster allow the resale of them?

BakedBeanAddict · 10/03/2024 16:07

Oh I just tried to sell mine to answer my own question and you can’t profit from them, only get the price you paid. So at least there won’t be price gouging

HarpQuartet · 10/03/2024 18:31

I've used Twickets before, there's a safe system whereby they hold your money then transfer to the seller once you confirm you have the tickets

Taylormiffed · 10/03/2024 18:40

I wouldn't touch Facebook taylor swift tickets with a barge pole.

I have 4 tickets to see Taylor Swift in Cardiff on 18 June and would love to swap them for tickets in London. Any advice on the best way to do this? Thanks.

Tikkamarsalaplease · 24/03/2024 06:52

AXS or Ticketmaster re-sale is the safe option.

I sold some The1975 tickets recently through them as I had purchased from them and it was the easiest transaction ever. (Couldn’t go in the end, I’m not a tout!)

There’s no excuse for people to list on FB if a sale is genuine.

Decoart · 24/03/2024 07:05

I have 2 Taylor Swift tickets for Liverpool in June but want to swap them for London in August as DD is likely still be having radiotherapy.

Ticketmaster are just sending automated messages telling us to sell them and we should have been more organised when buying tickets. DD was diagnosed months after we bought them...

DD is gutted it's been keeping her going through her treatment. We are just going to have to do our best to get her there and see if Anfield can help us with disabled access. She really wanted to feel 'better' to enjoy it too.

RoseTulips2023 · 07/05/2024 09:26

I have 4 tickets to see Taylor Swift in Cardiff on 18 June. My daughter has her A level mocks that week so I'd love to swap them for tickets in London.
