Songs not heard for years

But still love.

Just watched a programme on BBC2 , sound of Scotland, and just heard Bluebells Young at Heart, the first time I think I've heard it for many years. Firstly, the singer wasn't who I remember so that's was a shock and I suspect I thought it was Dexys Midnight Runners who sung it originally. Such yearning for one song 💔

I love coming across old songs, and getting really into them again or sometimes just really connecting to it for the first time, enjoying it in a way you didn't before.

Good Tradition by Tanita Tikaram
Crystallized by Kylie Minogue

Re: Story of the Blues
Pete Wylie is still touring and playing the Wah! hits (and non-hits). Excellent stuff.

My recently rediscovered current listening is Ape Man by the Kinks.

Rossmore Road by Barry Andrews has been my earworm for days. Nobody else I know seems to have ever heard it.

Crazy For You by Let Loose. Such a beautiful pop song.

Your Woman by White Town. Great song that brings back loads of good memories from my youth!

Rabbit hole ahead - links to lots of old charts uploaded to Mixcloud, I've been listening all weekend 😊Contents | The Chart Shows Wiki | Fandom

A few from my recent 1987 chart listens -

Boy George - Sold
Swing Out Sister - Surrender
The Pretenders - Hymn to Her
Westworld - Sonic Boom Boy
The Christians - Forgotten Town
Glenn (Hoddle) and Chris (Waddle) - Diamond Lights (the TOTP performance is gloriously naff) 😂
Spear of Destiny - Never Take Me Alive

Lots of cheese by the likes of Sam Fox and various "jack" titles, just before Stock Aitken and Waterman dominated the charts

As you may be aware, this group was hit severe by Mixcloud's changes in January 2023, and for others it's still happening, the updating is a bit slow, but is still happening, but if anyone can find a reliable solution, we'd like to hear from you. P. ht...

..and Sounds of the 80s and 90s, although I don't listen to the latter.

I have hear most of the above sings from listening to SOT80s, SOT70s as well as Greatest Hits Radio, Absolute 70s, 80s etc. I just don't listen to anything from the last 15 years.

I do every now and then but had to switch it off a week or so ago when Alexi Sale was 'singing' 'Ello John, got a new motor? Seemed a lot of people on Twitter felt the same.
