What's your best "whole" peanut butter?

So the stuff that's just nuts, and maybe a hint of salt.

Mine is Pic's. But it's EXPENSIVE. as it's from NZ. Any other choices you'd recommend?

Ideally high-oleic if possible.

The Aldi giant bucket.

Mishmashs · 09/03/2024 18:39

Manilife, we get it on Amazon. Also pip and nut. I don’t like the whole earth one.

wubwubwub · 09/03/2024 19:15

Not a fan of Whole Earth has a weird texture to it that I don't like.

Am inspired to make my own now though! Might do some with dry roasted nuts 😀

Skippy extra crunchy. I've not seen it in UK shops but I get it in 1.13kg jars from Amazon. Price varies but at the moment its about £8 per jar.

Can't eat the ones with sugar in them anymore, after having just nuts peanut butter... I'm a sensitive soul 😁

Whole earth. Big tub is often on offer . The crunchy organic one is even better

OctopusLocks · 09/03/2024 19:21

Tesco, Asda, Morrisons etc all do their own brand 100% peanuts ones which are exactly the same, have absolutely nothing added and are much cheaper than the branded ones so I get one of those depending on where I'm shopping.

wubwubwub · 09/03/2024 19:21

Whole earth has palm oil in it ... Maybe that's why I don't like it?

It's a strange texture for me.

Another vote for Aldi 1kg tub at £3.99!100% peanuts. Use it for everything including in my porridge, on toast, drizzled in Greek yoghurt and for doggy biscuits

Nope. I'm telling you.. Pic's is SO much nicer than the supermarket whole nut ones.
They're absolutely fine and all, a good everyday option. We have Aldi 1kg tubs as our daily one. But Pic's really is much nicer. Bit as it's 3x the price...it's reserved for when you want a treat 😂 hence the question!

Going to try the Manilife deep roast I think 👍

Look at the ingredients and decide, I used to eat whole earth but after checking ingredients it did have palm oil in it. Also the M&S one had sugar and sunflower in it. So I settled on Pip and Nut.

I buy Aldi Foodie Market. Cheap. 100% peanuts. No salt, no palm oil. Very delicious.

Yes, came on here to say this.
Everything else pales into insignificance and is too pale and salty.
The smooth American ones in the large jars are disgusting.

I used to make my own, but it was costing me a lot in hand blenders! I roasted the peanuts for a few minutes first, easier to blend when they are a bit drier.

Vinorosso74 · 09/03/2024 19:50

Pip n Nut is the only one I like. So many others have oil added and that taste overpowers the peanuts. I try and buy it on offer.
I bought a lovely one from a stall in Amble in Northumberland. They do a lovely cashew one too! Can't remember the name of them.

YouAndMeAndThem · 09/03/2024 19:50

We are currently obsessed with Pip and Nut sweet and salty. The dark roast one is amazing but I haven't seen it in ages round here.

ChillEmber · 09/03/2024 19:54

Grew up in a country that exports peanuts because we have so much of it. I have been chugging it from childhood and my tastebuds were disappointed until I found ManiLife, I have a subscription and order tub load of the deep roast, yet to find anything that comes close!

Bgr1936 · 09/03/2024 19:55

Most supermarkets do a whole food, peanut only, version. But my newest find is Pip & Nut dark roast which has totally rejuvenated my waning interest in PB. It's delicious.

Beginningless · 09/03/2024 19:58

Manilife subscriber here too. Absolutely delicious.

Love Pics... First saw it at local farmers market in NZ and was given an amazing recipe for peanut butter biscuits with the jar I bought... thought at the time it was the best peanut butter ever. Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it in tesco a decade later, having returned to the UK.

wubwubwub · 09/03/2024 20:30

They have Pic's in Tesco??

Never seen it there 😞

Whole earth isn't great. Palm oil. No need for any oil let alone palm oil

PaperCrane555 · 09/03/2024 20:34

Whole Earth hands down. Hate the Aldi one, need some salt. Not keep on the Pip one either.

UnaOfStormhold · 09/03/2024 20:37

Meridian does a richer roast version which is very special.

Daffsinfeb · 09/03/2024 20:38

I liked Meridian but recently converted to Morrisons 100% peanut one. It has a milder flavour and DS approves.
