Chips?
Mash?
Fritters?
Dauphinoise?
Salad?

Inspire me!

Chips, but only if made with King Edwards.
Potatoes Anna.
Greek roast potatoes with lemon, olive oil and herbs.

OopsieeDaisy · 29/02/2024 15:47

Love dauphinoise with lots of garlic, cream and cheese but we rarely make them at home. Nice crispy roasties, or mash / jackets with way too much butter…

DesignForLife01 · 29/02/2024 15:49

MoonWoman69 · 29/02/2024 15:53

Blue cheese dauphinoise
Home made roasts in duck/goose fat
Oven baked jacket, which has been nowhere near a microwave at any stage!

Oooh thanks for so many ideas!
We have a lot to get through thanks to FiL's allotment 🥔

I love them all ways, but fondant are 'chefs kiss'!

CrushingOnRubies · 29/02/2024 16:00

Mash

Or baby potatoes or new cut into half or 3s par boiled then fried

SIacker · 29/02/2024 16:01

Crisps are good. Does that count?

Never tried to make my own though!

Nellieinthebarn · 29/02/2024 16:04

Favourite posh way is tartiflette, but I only really have that in the aftermath of Christmas when all the ingredients are already in the house.

Favourite everyday way is probably saute, but I am also a big fan of bubble and squeak and tattie scones.

DinnaeFashYersel · 29/02/2024 16:11
  1. Roast potatoes cripsy on the outside, fluffy in the middle with beef gravy
  2. Mashed (with cream and butter) and served either with mince, as in mince n tatties or homemade steak and sausage pie
  3. Chip shop chips drenched in chippy sauce (only available in Chippies on the East of Scotland).
SirenSays · 29/02/2024 16:12

Buttery artery-clogging Mash, really fat chippy fritters or Gamja Bokkeum with sesame seeds.

PickAChew · 29/02/2024 16:15

Brown and crispy, with skins or without. Also rather fond of a a boulangère. I do like mash but dairy doesn't like me and it's not the same without butter.

muddyford · 29/02/2024 16:17

Any way! My grandmother was from Dublin so we all love spuds in any form.

SuperCabbage · 29/02/2024 16:17

You can't bate a boiled spud, mashed with salty butter and white pepper.
Can only be improved by adding some boiled bacon and cabbage.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 29/02/2024 15:10

I like microwaving a potato with skin on then slicing and 'frying ' with a spray of oil, mixed herbs and garlic paste, salt and pepper.

And chip shop chips obvs.

ooooh those sound nice 😋

my favourite Is roast

PickAChew · 29/02/2024 16:19

And actually, with the right potatoes, whether new or main crop, I do love them boiled. In new potato season, I always boil (or roast) extra to have cold for lunch.

EskSmith · 29/02/2024 16:21

Tortilla or Saag Aloo

Runnyyolkplease · 29/02/2024 16:23

Mash with lots of butter, cream and black pepper.
Mash with butter and wholegrain mustard.
Roasts in goose fat.
Jacket potato low and slow in the oven.
Leftover Jacket potato, as above, chopped and fried the next day.
Hash brown tater tots.

Don’t make me pick a favourite 😭

Keroppi · 29/02/2024 16:25
