Trying to decide whether to get on win my new kitchen. Do you have one and do you recommend it?

We used to have one at work and it was never really hot enough for good tea, but that was years ago so they may have got better.

Also love Ottolenghi

No I wouldnt, we have one at work. Its constantly broken, leaking or needing a new filter.

BeyondImagining · 21/02/2024 21:41

Love mine - we make sure the filter is changed at the correct times and in 3 years have never had a problem with it

onemoremile · 21/02/2024 21:42

We have one and it's brilliant. We have a quooker set to boiling. It is seriously good, even for tea.

Ithinkitstimeforbed · 21/02/2024 21:43

Yes we have a Quooker, it’s brilliant and would definitely recommend it.

KindleGirlie · 21/02/2024 21:46

Yes I love it. Not a big hot drinks drinker, but amazing for cooking with too. I can adjust the temp under the sink so when we go on holiday I turn it down. I have it maybe 3 away from the hottest and it’s hot enough for tea and coffee.

I love the counter space not being taken up with a kettle too.

BreakfastAtMimis · 21/02/2024 21:50

Have you not got a kettle?

Ditto.
I'm busy, but I've got 60secs to boil a kettle.
Those taps solve a problem that doesn't exist imo.

Bearpawk · 21/02/2024 21:57

I had a quooker installed at work. It's excellent and saves any queueing for the kettle. Would definitely get one at home if I hadn't just had a new kitchen put in!

cryinglaughing · 21/02/2024 22:00

No, I just don't find it hot enough.
Dh uses it, I have a kettle 😊. I only have one brew a day, I want it to be hot!

Ithinkitstimeforbed · 21/02/2024 22:04

People saying it’s not hot enough had me confused, I had to google and turns out not every brand does boiling water! Our Quooker one is instant 100%- we had one installed in our flat and had it for 7 years with no issue. The house we bought already had a Quooker and the kitchen was installed in 2013- don’t know if the previous owners had issues or replaced it any point but we’ve had no issues with it.

Cheerfulcharlie · 21/02/2024 22:06

This was one thing I was against getting when we got a new kitchen. I thought they seemed so dangerous with young kids, wouldn't make a nice cup of tea and what's so difficult about boiling a kettle anyway....I am SO glad I changed my mind at the last minute. Ours gets up to 98C - so just as hot a kettle by the time you pour it. Tastes better than the kettle as we don't get the limescale building up. Plus so much easier when cooking (we steam veg a lot etc). Also arguably safer than a kettly with younger kids, but they can be trained / grow up so quick anyway! We have the Perrin & Rowe integrated into the main tap so is not an add-on.

Iwant2beJessicaFletcher · 21/02/2024 22:14

Love mine! Wouldn't be without it. I don't drink hot drinks but use it so much for cooking - it's a game changer.

We live in an extremely hard water area & I have to descale & change the filter every y months which isn't difficult to do or expensive.

We have a pro boil 2.X

Deafening · 21/02/2024 22:14

Love my quooker.

candgen625 · 21/02/2024 22:16

Dh wanted one. I was against it as I thought it was an expensive gadget.

I was proved wrong. I love it

fivepies · 21/02/2024 22:20

Have you seen the Quookers that as well as boiling hot water they also have filtered and fizzy water? All out of the same tap! My mate has one and alI want one but they are expensive.

Wizzadorra70 · 21/02/2024 22:30

We installed one at work but it was a cheap Screwfix version and very problematic. I didn't like how it tasted with tea but found it fine for coffee. We ended up keeping the kettle as the older staff members refused to use it and said it wasn't boiling (97c).

I think it's the sort of thing that you get what you pay for...

DillDanding · 21/02/2024 22:32

Yes. We love it and wouldn’t be without it.

Superbloo · 21/02/2024 22:33

I scoffed at friends getting one years ago, then got a Quooker myself recently. I love it and would replace it immediately if it ever broke.

Quitelikeit · 21/02/2024 22:36

Can anyone advise if you can get a quooker fitted if you already have a kitchen in situ iyswim

we have granite worktops if that’s any help

Quitelikeit · 21/02/2024 22:37

What are the costs to have it installed?

Cassimin · 21/02/2024 22:43

I’ve got a fohen.
love it. Only been in a year but I’ve had no problems. Reaches 98 which is fine for me.

coatonthewashingline · 21/02/2024 22:44

I’d love one if it was a present. Not going to pay £1000ish, plus annual servicing (itself the cost of a kettle) tho.

Crazymadchickenlady · 21/02/2024 22:44

I love my Quooker and yes I would definitely recommend it

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 21/02/2024 22:47

Have a quooker and bloody love it
