Pippa Middleton, figure is due to her background & childhood habits & lifestyle

So many threads this week about Pippa Middleton's figure. But does anyone think it's just due to her background. She grew up playing multiple sports in a private school & her family are also sporty & slim.
Pippa did all sorts of sports athletics, hockey, swimming, triathlon, skiing, lacrosse, tennis, netbalp, basketball, rowing.. And excelled in all of them like her big sister. Of course she's going to look amazing.
It's very rare to see an overweight kid in the private schools in my area. They spend lots of time on sports.

Well obviously. What on earth is the fuss? She’s just a slim well toned woman. There are loads of them.

This. The answer to all the questions are exactly the same. Be rich, have a lot of time to exercise, eat good food, no junk.

Sports done as a child aren’t going to make any difference now but she clearly works out a lot as she’s quite muscular. That’s usually from weight training rather than just playing sport. Being slim or muscular doesn’t necessarily mean healthy diet or health in general, a lot of people eating a diet to put on muscle are not eating ‘healthily’ and for health you’re meant to lay down so extra fat in middle age. But it’s her body so absolutely hers to do whatever she likes with!

The point here about diet to gain muscle is not necessarily a healthy diet is true and also applies to weight loss. There are loads of diets designed for visual effect results that are massively skewed nutrient-wise. Just having a certain look, weight or muscle profile does not guarantee health. At my most “ inspiring “ ( ie got loads of compliments and told how fit and healthy I looked), I was actually not eating as well as when gp told me to gain round pregnancy. I know people feel they are just being generous and “ not jealous “ saying how great people look when they are eating and exercising for visual effect but it often isn’t driven by the exemplary balanced diet we imagine.

I’m surprised there are so many threads surprised that a wealthy woman has the time and resources to maintain a slim, athletic figure.

I don’t think her figure is really that comment-worthy to be honest, it’s pretty obvious, eat well and exercise a lot.

FFS - where my Edit function gone.

Exactly. I'm pretty sure most of the people I see in my races (running) have some sort of aristocratic background.

It's actually been shown in studies that there's no correlation between weight and exercise.

My brother was extremely sporty as a kid, he still does 3 hours of exercise a day as an adult (an hour cycle each day to work and goes to the gym over lunch every day). I barely left my bed or the sofa as a kid.

We were both always underweight, now as adults we're still both slim. Your weight is all about what you eat, not how much you exercise or how "sporty" you are. I know lots of sporty types who are overweight.

Lean defined muscles, abs and traps are everything about exercise though. The point is PM is an extremely fit woman who trains, works out and has v good muscles.

NotARealWookiie · 20/02/2024 09:36

There is something about having the privilege to spend the time on sport once you are a parent.

Not to do her down, I’m sure she eats healthy, works out and makes good lifestyle choices.

ILoveMyCatButHesAPervert · 20/02/2024 09:53

Pippa's husband James appears to be very sporty too.

Well he somewhat undermined your theory, @Downwarddog2, as he is not particularly toned and doesn't look fit. Despite an incredibly privileged background.

dottiedodah · 20/02/2024 10:16

She has good genes as her Mum Carole and sister Kate are very slim too.

I love being active but I have to work too hard to be properly active

If I had the choice I would walk 3-5 hours in the morning up town and round a gallery or museum and then come home and read a book for the rest of the day

Instead I work 8am to 9pm with one hour lunch break Hmm It's just shit

Get a walking pad! I work from home and now do 15k steps a day. My mental and physical health has never been better. Best money I've ever spent

James Matthews looks fairly slimline to me @ILoveMyCatButHesAPervert

The cute couple even coordinated their outfits — Pippa chose a wrap dress patterned with yellow flowers, which James complemented with a yellow tie

Genes. She was born with a low level of body fat which she got from her mother. Same with Kate. I’m skinny fat so could do all the things Pippa does but never get the same level of fitness. It’s not a level playing field.

ILoveMyCatButHesAPervert · 20/02/2024 13:33

I'm going on the beach photos of him that have been published with Pippa. Not suggesting he's fat, just not toned. Certainly nothing comparing to her physique.

@KenAdams

This! Brilliant and totally accurate.

I just went to see what all the fuss was about as keep seeing threads on this. Stomach amazing. Legs amazing. Neck and arms - thats serious training. I don't think it's a class thing. It is a having hours to spend in the gym thing.

That level of fitness takes a lot of time. And that is where the "class" (but really money) comes in.

With two young children, keeping your fitness up to that level requires money.

Someone or more likely, many ones, need to step in while you train.

Jk8 · 20/02/2024 14:01

Low appetites/better healthcare/genetics

I wouldn't say any of the Middletons have great body shapes for females but for health & fitness they definitely stack up

For it to benefit my mental and physical health I'd have to be power walking, which I don't think I could do while concentrating on my work.
I also like to separate my work and leisure. I'd much, much rather go out for even a 20 minute run if that's all I can fit in, than try to do it at my desk. Or even 5 min of something or other every hour.
That's just what works for me. I strongly believe people should find what they enjoy and what works for them.

TheSalesGirl · 20/02/2024 15:05

Billionaires wife is in good shape. What a shocker

She has good genes as her Mum Carole and sister Kate are very slim too.

Actually the last few pics I saw of Carole she was looking softer. Tbh I liked the weight on her.

MidnightMeltdown · 20/02/2024 16:14

She doesn't look amazing though? Hmm

She's toned (which is fairly easy if you've got time and money on your hands), but she doesn't have a naturally good figure.

What are traps?

workshy46 · 20/02/2024 16:16

Why do people assume people who ae thin and fit eat nothing. I eat loads, loads of rubbish too but have a fast metabolism and am pushing 50. My figure is the same - I play sport and walk everywhere but don't have chefs or personal trainers

JaninaDuszejko · 20/02/2024 16:21

She's attractive and clearly is very fit and healthy and looks great. But I'm surprised people are raving over her body quite so much when there are many celebrities with hourglass figures that are Goddess-like (e.g. Beyonce).

When there are threads analysing the Prince of Wales’ body and pondering his diet and exercise regime I may rustle up a shit to give.

There is nothing much to say, he looks like a normal middle-aged man sadly

FloopyMango · 20/02/2024 16:31

I’ve yet to see an overweight child in Pony Club.

Easipeelerie · 20/02/2024 21:31

I can’t get past how short legged she looks. That’s not patrician.
