Pippa Middleton, figure is due to her background & childhood habits & lifestyle

So many threads this week about Pippa Middleton's figure. But does anyone think it's just due to her background. She grew up playing multiple sports in a private school & her family are also sporty & slim.
Pippa did all sorts of sports athletics, hockey, swimming, triathlon, skiing, lacrosse, tennis, netbalp, basketball, rowing.. And excelled in all of them like her big sister. Of course she's going to look amazing.
It's very rare to see an overweight kid in the private schools in my area. They spend lots of time on sports.

OP posts:

Sports done as a child aren’t going to make any difference now but she clearly works out a lot as she’s quite muscular. That’s usually from weight training rather than just playing sport. Being slim or muscular doesn’t necessarily mean healthy diet or health in general, a lot of people eating a diet to put on muscle are not eating ‘healthily’ and for health you’re meant to lay down so extra fat in middle age. But it’s her body so absolutely hers to do whatever she likes with!

Prawncow · 19/02/2024 22:57

When there are threads analysing the Prince of Wales’ body and pondering his diet and exercise regime I may rustle up a shit to give.

RichardsGear · 19/02/2024 22:59

She and her sister have the legs of a compact and short woman. Yes I'm amazing myself, no I don't care to share any photos, yadda yadda😜.

Merrymouse · 19/02/2024 23:06

No, I am 100% sure that it is due to her diet and activity now.

Justfinking · 19/02/2024 23:17

Another thread on this? Who cares 😴

KenAdams · 20/02/2024 01:18

It's time and money.

Imagine having someone drag you out of bed every day to make you train. Don't need to worry about getting the kids up and ready, nanny will sort that.

A quick shower, before having the breakfast tailor made for your nutritional needs.

Perhaps fit in the odd sports massage, beauty treatment, yoga session.

Make up and hair done for you ready for lunch with friends who eat like you, or perhaps a spot of tennis.

Shopping for clothes that are made from the best quality materials that will be tailored to your body so will always fit perfectly.

Dinner prepared to account for your specific nutritional needs.

The best beauty products in the world and a good nights sleep.

Where is the room in that routine to not look and feel fabulous?

Most of us lack the time and energy to do this.

The kids won't get out of bed and you forgot to put the wash on so you are going for the least worst approach to uniform. You're lucky to have enough time to grab a cereal bar.

We don't have the money to get our clothes tailored, you just whack something that looks half decent into the trolley with the weekly shop when you're in Sainsburys.

The toddler is waking 3 times a night or the teenager is giving you backchat constantly.

If you hear the Teams ringtone one more fucking time today the laptop is going in the bin. This has caused you to eat 5 biscuits and a pack of prawn cocktail crisps for lunch.

Dinner is probably fish and chips because you forgot to defrost something due to the aforementioned Teams calls.

You intended to go for a run but youre exhausted and fall into bed. You've only wiped your face with a bit of toner, that'll do because obviously you'll do a full skincare routine tomorrow.

That's why you don't look like Pippa and that's OK. We try and make time for ourselves but don't beat yourself up about it.

Focus on your health as much as you can, including your mental health and don't give headspace to the media who tell you if you aren't doing everything, you aren't good enough.

BOOTS52PollyPrissyPants · 20/02/2024 05:07

She does not eat a lot and what she does eat is good quality and cooked for her and has good food choices. I cannot imagine her sitting down with crisps or ice cream on a night so has never put on weight but she is slim but a few pounds on her would look better. His family are super rich and own that hotel they are staying at. Has time to herself and not fretting about what to cook for dinner or hoovering and even Kate looked more healthy before she became Williams wife and the world media on her now looks like she barely eats as so underweight.

Touty · 20/02/2024 05:50

I don’t think her body looks feminine though.

Mouse82 · 20/02/2024 06:31

Seriously Mumsnet #dobetter the comments in this thread 🫥
The standard you walk past is the standard you keep.

NashvilleQueen · 20/02/2024 06:46

This really is an unnecessary third thread about a specific woman's body. .

I am sure that your intentions are good but even with the question posed as it is you will have replies from people saying she's 'like a boy' or 'not attractive' or even 'doesn't have a pretty face' when all the woman is doing is having a holiday and being spied on by tabloid photographers.

WhoaJayShettybambalam · 20/02/2024 06:52

I get the admiration but three or four threads about a woman’s body and all of the shit that goes with that? Bollocks.

These are the ‘not in the spirit of mumsnet’ threads surely?

ShirleyPhallus · 20/02/2024 07:00

christ who cares, this really doesn’t need yet another thread offering microscopic analysis of a woman’s body

TheMildManneredMilitant · 20/02/2024 07:04

TBF I'd probably make the effort too if I was going to be regularly subjected to comments dissecting every inch of my body. And then realise its pointless because it doesn't matter how thin or strong or pretty you are it still won't be perfect enough to stop randomers making bitchy comments on the internet.

xsquared · 20/02/2024 07:06

Some of the comments about her body are disgusting.

I find it tiresome when I see yet another poster suggesting she must have an ED or undereating to be that slim, when all I see is a woman who takes her fitness seriously and fuels by eating the right things. I bet Pippa does eat a substantial amount of carbs and protein.

She has the body of an athletic woman. Who decodes what is feminine amd what isn't?

It hits home for me as my child was all rib cage when they were growing up and some of the comments they got on their body, especially from adults. And this child ate me out of house and home.

MeinKraft · 19/02/2024 21:57

Why is there another thread about this?!

I know! The other one was hundreds of posts long.

I don't know what the mystery is. PM is self disciplined when it comes to food and exercise. She chooses not to be a lard arse.

Cameron and Johnson are two public school attendees who make different choices to Pippa and Kate.

Grandmasswag · 20/02/2024 07:16

The fact that so many women find it completely incredibly that a woman eats well and works out is actually quite sad and indicative of the attitudes of many adults in this country to exercise and diet. I’m neither rich nor naturally thin. I’m a busy mother of 2 and yet I have always always exercised (heavy weights in gym plus cardio classes) because I prioritise it. As do many women I know (no I don’t look like Pippa because I eat too much and drink but the point is it would be achievable if I were stricter with diet but it’s not my priority in life). Dh and I have always taken in turns to work out on the weekday evenings. I walk plenty and at weekends we usually exercise as a family at either with a long walk or bike ride. It’s really nothing commendable or incredible. The notion that you have to be super rich and have staff to eat well and exercise is pathetic and I would suggest that many people get a grip.

Cosycover · 20/02/2024 07:18

I don't think she looks good tbh. I've never rated her. She is very much overhyped.

Agedcrone · 20/02/2024 07:18

Can Pippa Middleton in her sodding bikini have its own forum now please Mumsnet?!

junebirthdaygirl · 20/02/2024 07:19

Surely she is no different than lots of women. I was very sporty as a child/ adult. I can afford to eat healthy and have good genes for slimness as all my family are tall, thin , strong. Yet l make the wrong choices and as l have got older have gained weight. I still exercise but am basically lacking self control to be a good weight..mostly due to life stresses. So healthy childhood/ money/ good genes all count a bit but it's her own discipline that is the final decider now.
My friend never played sport, was an over weight teen but an injury later in life caused her to take up the gym to recover. She loved it and now is in amazing shape for her age. Eats healthy and looks great. It's her decisions now that count.

LaurieFairyCake · 20/02/2024 07:32

I love being active but I have to work too hard to be properly active

If I had the choice I would walk 3-5 hours in the morning up town and round a gallery or museum and then come home and read a book for the rest of the day

Instead I work 8am to 9pm with one hour lunch break Hmm It's just shit

LuciferRising · 20/02/2024 07:44

Why do people assume fit people starve themselves? They simply make good conscious food choices. Like many normal women. Deciding not to eat cake, pizza and ice cream, or drink bottles of wine is not denying or starving yourself. It's making healthy choices. Making healthy choices is not a 'diet'. If you see it as a diet, you'll fail.

TheSnowyOwl · 20/02/2024 07:45

If you read the many threads you will know that many people don’t think it’s just due to her background.

CharlotteBog · 20/02/2024 07:50

TedWilson · 19/02/2024 22:52

I just went to see what all the fuss was about as keep seeing threads on this. Stomach amazing. Legs amazing. Neck and arms - thats serious training. I don't think it's a class thing. It is a having hours to spend in the gym thing.

Exactly. I'm pretty sure most of the people I see in my races (running) have some sort of aristocratic background.

Agree, it’s so depressing that a lot of posters seem to think if you’re slim and fit you must have an eating disorder.

Look at photos of the population a few decades ago. You hardly saw a fat person in the 1970s when I grew up, so I don’t think genes have a lot to do with it!
People walked everywhere, there were very few processed foods so most meals were cooked from scratch, very few takeaways and eating out was a treat. None of that is true today and unfortunately people are eating too much and spending too much time sitting down.
