Mine was inspired by the poster who thought the ABBA song Fernando had the line "They were shining there for you and me
For liberty, Fernando" and though it was Lee Bertie who was someone special in their life 😄

My MIL showed me the glory hole in her new house (a cupboard under the stairs for those as dirty minded as me). It became a running joke and evolved into us referring to things as Holey/Wholly Glorious

Okbyethen · 14/02/2024 16:52

I saw a number plate on a car in the states that said 'OKBYE' I just added the 'then' 😃

F1ymetothetoon · 14/02/2024 16:53

Take me back to Newcastle

I was Theaveragebear (as in yogi bear, I’m smarter than the average bear) but then a few years back there was a data hack and we all changed our names so I became TheNewaveragebear - although a lot of people refer to me as the new wave rage bear which is probably more accurate

I read it as the new waver age bear Grin. There are some names which really do need CamelCasing!

ukgot2pot · 14/02/2024 16:53

I think mine is self-explanatory!

CelieandNettie · 14/02/2024 16:54

From my favourite film - The Colour Purple

RomeoMcFlourish · 14/02/2024 16:57

Bluey….

falalalalalalalallama · 14/02/2024 16:57

Simply, it was Christmas and I haven't been bothered to change it yet.

I had a username many years back that I literally dreamt in a dream - Motherofallhangovers.

Which makes me sound like an alcoholic - but chance would be a fine thing these days!

I just thought it was a witty play on words, while semi-conscious.

That I was dreaming about Mumsnet usernames says a lot about how much time I spent here, back then! Much less, these days, I've weaned myself off that particular addiction.

PhamieGowsSong · 14/02/2024 16:59

Mine is a new name change today in fact! Spotted our wedding picture whilst trying to think of a new name. We had War Song for our wedding.

War Song: Phamie Gow #piano #heroes #honour #steinwayandsonsuk #original #musicforthesoul

Originally written as a dedicated to all the brave soldiers who's lives were taken by war past and present.

Car dust graffiti in Spain, it made me laugh.

bingoringo4 · 14/02/2024 17:01

I change my username every Saturday morning. And it's always something that is just infront of me at the time. This time it was a bingo dabber

OldTinHat · 14/02/2024 17:03

Because I'm old (52), been here forever and you often need to wear a tin hat on here.

Alalalalalongalalalalalonglonglilong · 14/02/2024 17:05

You'll never guess what song inspired mine...

Very little thought, it was on when I had to do a quick name change. DS1 looked over my shoulder on a thread I had just posted on, my old username was a character my other DS had made up and DS1 said hey look someone has the same name that DS2 made up! I knew the penny would drop and he sometimes uses my laptop so a swift change was needed.

SheWoreYellow · 14/02/2024 17:07

Mine’s a U2 song.

mowbraygirl · 14/02/2024 17:07

IncompleteSenten · 14/02/2024 17:08

There isn't one.
I probably think I'm funnier than I actually am.

That has won the internet today. Howling. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Swallowdoubleandrunamile · 14/02/2024 17:08

Mine is a Withnail quote

LadyMacbethWasMisunderstood · 14/02/2024 17:10

I love Shakespeare. English literature was my passion at school and beyond and I adored Macbeth which was the first Shakespeare play I read. I always wanted to play Lady Macbeth on stage (never did and am too old now). I don’t actually think she misunderstood. But I do think she is an under rated character. Misunderstood sounds better!

cowonthecommon · 14/02/2024 17:11

I grew up near two commons, with lots of cows wandering around them.

Kemblefordsnice · 14/02/2024 17:13

Love an hour of crochet whilst watching reruns of Father Brown.

CrushingOnRubies · 14/02/2024 17:13

Nail varnish names

HuntingoftheSnark · 14/02/2024 17:20

Lewis Carroll poem

DoesNotPlayWellWithIdiots · 14/02/2024 17:20

Self explanatory I think 😂

I'm actually quite lovely (so I've been told; they may just be scared to say otherwise) but with age my tolerance levels for stupidity, batshittery and general cockwombliness have greatly declined. I have truly embraced my inner crabby old baggage.

I may change my username soon to one that better reflects my actual loveliness 😁
