Paris : Disney help

Planning on Disney next Feb.
Flying from Gatwick or Heathrow. To CDG.
Have seen people reccomend the partner hotels at val de Europe as can shuttle to the park.

I know there's a fb page. But i have family on there who will Gatecrash and we want to take dcs away on our own for once.

1st time abroad /plane for dcs 5 and 6.
So im pretty nervous

Seen a couple of partner hotels, with shuttle, any reccomendations. As long as clean I'm happy.

How to get from airport to hotel. Is it worth the £180 transfer or is there an easier way.

Plan. Sunday depart to arrive mid afternoon, so would just go to shops, eat, chill.

Monday park
Tuesday park
Wednesday into Paris Eiffel tower etc
Thurs Park for parade= late.
Fri hopefully an evening flight so shops etc before heading to airport. Do hotels hold luggage of check out is Earley?

Ive also never flown as an adult without in charge nor has dh. We were teens when last went abroad for
So this is all pretty daunting atm

you can get the train to marne la valee although I'm not sure exactly how to make that connection from CDG

magic circus and the radisson both good. magic circus is more child friendly

hotel will let you store luggage there

HolidayPrepIsStressful · 12/02/2024 00:56

Im toying with a Disney hotel but then won't be near the shops.
I think we'd want to get away from the huddle and bussle, so by saying near the village we can eat and wonder around a bit there. Rather than all the Disney food packed places.

I worry so much about making the wrong choice.

I found it more expensive to pay separately for the park and hotel. Also you’d be paying a full day just for the evening parade? If I were you I’d just stay one night in sante fe or cheyenne with park included for 2 days, then transfer to Paris for shops for the rest of the time.

Sorry when i meant evening parade it was meant as wont go 10am more like 3pm

Youngest won't cope with changing hotels. Unfortunately. Would have been ideal though

This is a big thing, and a great thing, your children aged 5 and 6 will love it, they are "just about" the right age, although another year or two on would not do any harm as they have height restrictions in Disney. I have taken my four (aged 6 months to 10 years) many times. The first thing that people do not know is you can get a TGV from the airport direct to Marne-la-Vallée Chessy and it takes 11 minutes, yes you have to time it right, but the alternative is to go via Paris central, which is definitely a 2 hour jig. There are tons of accom options depending how near you want to be to the parks. We've done Val D'Europe, we've done further out, ibis and so on, we have mainly done the Explorers hotel because it is very child friendly for a family of six with a constant bus transfer to the parcs. I think if you are 4 people you will find something better. My advice is don't bother with Paris at all, it is massive and stressful with young children, they won't care about the Eiffel tower and it will cost you an absolute fortune to go up it anyway, and it is just hard pointless work. Also, don't worry too much about the flight, it is an hour and a half from London tops, take some snacks and things to occupy your kids (and a supermarket plastic bag in case it is bumpy and someone feels ill) and the job is done. Finally, make sure that your hotel has proper transfers to the park, you get a lot of the outlying ones that are cheap but they are miles out and you will either have to get the RER (metro) or they are expecting you to self-drive. Hope this helps xx

What village are you talking about ? If it’s the Disney village you walk through that to get to all the Disney hotels except the Disneyland hotel . Is it possible to drive rather than fly , it’s a very easy drive about 3 hours on the French side then you could look at staying at the Parc natural ( centre parch type place ) or Davy Crockett ranch which is also self catering .

HolidayPrepIsStressful · 12/02/2024 01:36

Thank you. That's great information.

However just wondering if better driving.
Dover calais ferry. Drive down. No luggage restriction etc. Stay at Davy Crockett? Then have early access too.

Tired dcs can be bundled into car.

Can drive to Auchan for snacks and food to keep in lodge.

And guessing travel time isn't much different by time Would wait at baggage claim. The times to arrive at airport prior etc. Cheaper?

Tunnel is quicker , take shopping with you and then buy what else you need in Calais . We always drive , it’s loads less hassle IMO .

HolidayPrepIsStressful · 12/02/2024 01:45

Thank you. Yes that's an option.

I think i may go ahead and book davy crockett. Then add the travel near time.
And stop bring so indecisive and a worrier.
I think id sooner do a plane when dcs are a bit older. Youngest is hard work.

As folk have said upthread, CDG to Marne-la-Vallée (Disney) is one easy and direct train ride away.
Val D'Europe has SO many better and cheaper options with regular and easy links to Marne-la-Vallée (Disney) and town.
check out video vlogs on YouTube to set your mind at ease.
davy crocket requires transport which is unnecessary (and expensive) in a big city such as Paris.

EDUCATIONCPD · 12/02/2024 07:49

Davy crocket is quite far out.
I don't think the Disney hotels have basic things like fridges...

Hotel elysee Val de Europe was perfect with two small children. The rooms were excellent, clean, had a fridge and kettle. You are directly next too amenities eg bolongerie and huge shopping mal. You are also directly opp the train station and shuttle to Disney. It's the e first stop so you always get a seat.

It's far far better value than Disney hotels.

However, also look at efteling in the Netherlands. It's the same distance as Disney and in my opinion far more magical, beautiful than Disney.

EDUCATIONCPD · 12/02/2024 07:50

Definitely don't book Davy crickets I've seen it, it's way out you will be stuck and totally reliant in a petrol station I think

DrunkenElephant · 12/02/2024 07:54

We drove and stayed at Davy Crockett.

Its a ten minute drive, there’s a huge multi-storey car park right next to the parks.

They have a really good pool, restaurant, bar and couple of shops on site. It was lovely to be away from the hustle and bustle but still have the Disney magic, and the accommodation is self contained mobile homes so you get more space than a hotel room plus a living area/kitchen and outdoor space.

Tarantella6 · 12/02/2024 07:56

If you stay in a Disney hotel you get the early magic hour before non Disney guests can get in - makes a huge difference for the more popular rides. But they are set up for you to eat there so pp are right I don't think they have fridges. They do have kettles though, and there is plenty of food you can take that doesn't require a fridge.

Also if the shuttles are heaving (which they will be after the fireworks) they're all walkable.

Tunnel is way easier than flying, and probably cheaper.

Zanatdy · 12/02/2024 07:57

Davy crocket is a junction away, it’s not miles away. You need a car to stay there anyway so it’s no hardship driving 5-10 mins to get to the park. If your youngest is hard work driving sounds much better. I drove 3 times when kids were younger - was very easy but I’m only 90 mins from Calais

Zanatdy · 12/02/2024 07:58

Stuck how? You need a car to stay there. You’re actually much more free than being on site with no car

EDUCATIONCPD · 12/02/2024 08:03

@Zanatdy.. Because you don't have any amenities close by you are stuck with the inferior Disney offering and a petrol station.

As oppose to a huge supermarket, beautiful bakeries, decent food at proper restaurants, a huge shopping mall, a shuttle and a train station.

Op just as an aside I priced up Disney for about 5 years before actually going and joined that Disney fb site, I trawled and did tons of research.

Unfortunately Disney is set up to befuddle you and create smoke screens on pricing.
Efteling is just honest and straight forward.

EDUCATIONCPD · 12/02/2024 08:03

We also drove zanta.

DrunkenElephant · 12/02/2024 08:04

@EDUCATIONCPD it’s ten minutes away from all of the above.

EDUCATIONCPD · 12/02/2024 08:05

@DrunkenElephant
Yes and other hotels are a few steps from all the above which is much easier with small dc.

I had a yearly pass I went loads.

DrunkenElephant · 12/02/2024 08:09

I’ve also been several times - it all depends what the OP is looking for. Some people don’t want to be in one hotel room with children or too close to the parks and prefer somewhere quieter and further out.

Each to their own, but Davy Crockett is hardly isolated.

Coronado2 · 12/02/2024 08:11

We stayed at hotel b&b in October half term and really liked it. The only thing I would say is all of the places like that woth shuttles, it was a battle getting on the shuttle at the end of the night. No queue really just a free for all and really packed. The disney hotels seemed to have more regular buses.

I'd still stay there again though and breakfast was included. We did go in to paris for a day because dd8 wanted to do the eiffel tower, but that's literally all we did there.

Jowak1 · 12/02/2024 08:15

Please double check the train goes to the park I know it used to but I think it has stopped running to Disney now. We are going in May and had to consider this when booking. Have a great time 👍

There’s plenty of supermarkets on the way, or take stuff with you. Or you eat at the park on the way to the car park. You don’t need to be stuck with a petrol station. We ate really well when we stayed. You need to be organised.
