Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just about to drink my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot, in silence. I'm the only one up atm so the only sound is the boiler humming to itself and the kitchen clock ticking. Lovely 😊

I'll put the washer on when I've drunk this, put away last night's pots and have a tidy round.

Yesterday's hangover seems to have become a cold, just in time for half term. So I'm rather snotty & have a sore throat 🙄

My plan for the day is try out my new paint brushes. I didn't get round to it yesterday & have a couple of sets of peg dolls ready to be painted, before the end of the week, so they can be varnished next weekend. We might have that walk to Lidl too - or we might not. There's always tomorrow 🙈

Both girls were going to try and do all their homework over the course of the weekend so I'll see how that's going & offer any assistance. It's usually dd2 who needs help...with maths. If she does, I'll ask dd1 to have a look at it with her.

We're having gammon for tea, it's in the slow cooker already. Not sure what we'll have with it yet, maybe homemade chips and some beans 🤔 we'll see.

What about all of you? 🙂

I’ve got some kind of bug, DH thinks it’s bronchitis. Feel exhausted, headache, sore throat and terrible cough (Covid test was negative).
I've just cooked us poached egg on toast and prepped the veg and stuffing for Sunday roast later.
Need to tidy round a bit but am exhausted already so am blanketed up on the sofa with tea. Might just binge watch Netflix for a few hours and snooze.
DH is at work but home by 3.30pm so will actually cook the roast pork then.
I am on a 3 day SJA first aid in the workplace from tomorrow, could really do without it tbh. Plus, it’s a 90 minute commute.

Morning everyone (just!)

DD1 had some viral flu bug last week that I've caught this weekend so I'm shattered. I've put some washing in and sorted the uniforms for tomorrow. BIL, SIL and DH are taking DD1, DD2, DNiece and DNephew to soft play later - I was planning on hiding at home under a blanket but the thought of a coffee has made me get ready and say I'm going to go along and join in.

Enjoy your Sundays everyone

I'm in hospital after abdominal surgery. Just had my lunch, am in pain (funny how pain doesn't stop me eating) and am reading Five on Treasure Island which my sister bought me as undemanding and easy to read when your head's muddled on morphine. I'm actually enjoying it very much and want to go on a picnic with lashings of ginger beer, lol.

Well done on going through with the operation MissMarples and hope the recovery goes well.

I've done sod all so far other than make myself and dd a sausage and egg muffin Grin
We've got to be somewhere at 3 and I'll make her do a dog walk with me for an hour before that. Then will be back home to get back into bed, probably with food, to watch something like Great Pottery Throw Down. Taking half term as easy as we can this time due to recent health, which is actually nice and refreshing.

Afternoon all, DH and I are both getting over hideous colds and have horrible coughs too. Was up quite early considering I didn't have to be anywhere. Spent a couple of hours playing with the dog while DS2 was gaming. Then went to the shopping centre in the nearest city as DH wanted to spend some birthday vouchers, DS2 wanted to get a football game and some football cards and I wanted to get some notecards as I have just got a pen pal and it's my turn to write next, which I'm quite excited about!

Just had a quick lunch of sausage rolls and I'm about to make a chocolate latte. Not much planned this afternoon, I want to write my letter, have got a couple of plants that need potting up and need to wash some towels but it will mostly be a chilled out one. Chicken wings and nachos for tea, catch up on Gladiators and then early nights all round - still another week to go until half term here!

Hi there.
I'm having a stock cube in a massive mug right now then I've got some embroidery to do.
Exciting life I lead 😂

I love these threads! A lovely slow Sunday for us just pottering about. Woke up early (thanks perimenopause) but did actually manage to get back to sleep for a bit afterwards and had a bit of a lie in which was much needed after a v busy work and school week. Had a long call with my 86 year old Mum, put a wash and dishwasher load on and booked the Science Museum for tomorrow.

I’ve got 2 days off work so will try and make the most of it with DD 11 year old before work on Wednesday. It does feel good not to be sorting out homework, uniform and getting the Sunday scaries!!

Roast chicken for dinner and probably Call the Midwife.

Hope all feel better soon for those not feeling well and have good weeks all!

Simonjt · 11/02/2024 15:41

Good not morning anymore, I hope the unwell posters feel better soon.

Our daughter got us up at 3:30 this morning and didn’t fall back asleep until 6:30, so too late for me to to back to bed. She then woke up again at 8am and has been in the worst mood all day. Apparently I’m not even allowed to look at her today, how very dare I.

We’ve been to a nature reserve today, there were lots snowdrops which was nice.

A quiet evening here hoping our two year old doesn’t murder us in the night.

lucysmam · 11/02/2024 19:21

🤣 @Simonjt how very dare you indeed! My 14yo still has days like that now (the how very dare you look at me type, thankfully not the up at 3:30am type!).

I completely forgot that I'd agreed to go to a friend's house to help her write a statement about her dc so I did that, painted for an hour and had a nap before tea 💤 Just about to get a shower now, then wondering whether to do something, or just give it up and go to bed 🤔

@Simonjt I hope you have safely made it through the night and your two year old is in a better mood this morning 🤞😂

AhBiscuits · 12/02/2024 07:35

Just woken up in a Premier Inn and about to go for breakfast. We're in London and have a day of sightseeing planned. My 6 year old is history obsessed and very excited.

justtidying · 12/02/2024 08:14

Good morning! We flew to the UK yesterday and am now cuddled up in my old bedroom with a dog and a cuppa. Planning a walk into the town centre later with DC. Feels really nice to be here with DP
