I'm just about to drink my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot, in silence. I'm the only one up atm so the only sound is the boiler humming to itself and the kitchen clock ticking. Lovely 😊

I'll put the washer on when I've drunk this, put away last night's pots and have a tidy round.

Yesterday's hangover seems to have become a cold, just in time for half term. So I'm rather snotty & have a sore throat 🙄

My plan for the day is try out my new paint brushes. I didn't get round to it yesterday & have a couple of sets of peg dolls ready to be painted, before the end of the week, so they can be varnished next weekend. We might have that walk to Lidl too - or we might not. There's always tomorrow 🙈

Both girls were going to try and do all their homework over the course of the weekend so I'll see how that's going & offer any assistance. It's usually dd2 who needs help...with maths. If she does, I'll ask dd1 to have a look at it with her.

We're having gammon for tea, it's in the slow cooker already. Not sure what we'll have with it yet, maybe homemade chips and some beans 🤔 we'll see.

What about all of you? 🙂

Plans for early-bird bus trip down to the shops derailed by miserable weather and what seems to be the start of a sore throat.

Will probably spend the day pottering about and eating crap.

I started with a sore throat, too. I've just done a test and it's Covid. With that and the rain, my plans are definitely off.

Justonedayatatime11 · 11/02/2024 09:34

Still in bed, DH has gone down to make breakfast. Still stuck with the headache that seems to have lasted 100 days so far which is making me very grumpy and reluctant to do anything.

However, will drag myself out to pick up DD at lunchtime and then go to continue breaking in ponies which I'm finding absolutely fascinating and thoroughly enjoying. Sure it will be even more enjoyable when spring finally arrives and it's not so cold and muddy!

Something easy for tea, possibly GF tempura chicken and egg fried rice. Then a relatively early night as next week and the week after are absolutely crazy busy.

piscofrisco · 11/02/2024 09:39

Morning @lucysmam and all. I'm feeling quite peeved as we had plans to go to London today for Chinese new year parade and some food. Dd1 came in at 3am from a party, and so is still asleep, DSS2 is stropping about being asked to either come with us, or go with dh and dss1 to football, and so I have abandoned it at as a plan, as I can't be bothered with the moaning that would ensue. I was up and ready at 8.30, so am going to take the dogs for a long walk now whilst DD2 is still about to keep an ear out for DSS, and then will get out in the garden for a bit-I've got some bare root plants to put in and it's finally stopped raining here. Then it will be prepping meals for the week ahead, cooking the roast, getting work clothes in order (I put all my outfits on hangers with all the stuff for each day together so I don't have to stress in the mornings) and then an early night as I've woken up with a really sore throat and I can feel a cold coming on. I might make some gingerbread if I can be bothered after the Tesco shop arrives.

Have a lovely Sunday all!

What a lovely thread!

I've had my first cup of tea before playing taxi for DD who is off out with a friend for the day.

DS and I will potter round the house and we're then having our own Cat Cafe afternoon tea with out cats - so hoping to make some scones to add to the bits I've already done. I will definitely be going to Lidl, LucysMam, to get my free bakery item which today is a pizza slice/focaccia so might get a few so I can add them to the afternoon tea!

Other than that, probably some washing and reading my book. I'm off tomorrow and it's half term so none of the usual pre school/work hassle... bliss!

SanFranBear · 11/02/2024 09:40

*with our cats... wouldn't be much of a Cat Cafe with no cats 🤦🏻‍♀️

piscofrisco · 11/02/2024 09:43

@BCBird we had that ham in coke for dinner last night and I love it.
It seems we are a largely a club of sore throats, abandoned Chinese new year plans and holding on for half term for grim life this morning! Grin

Kim82 · 11/02/2024 09:48

Morning everyone. I had a bit of a lie in this morning and got up around an hour ago. So far I’ve sat on the couch with a cup of tea. There’s just me, dh and dd9 up so far.

I’ve no plans again today really. I need to do the floors and iron uniforms but that’s if. I need to get out of the house for a bit today as I’m getting a bit of cabin fever but I’m not sure what to do yet.

Tea tonight is curry (the one we were meant to have last night but I couldn’t be bothered making so we had a chippy tea instead).

Tonight is the usual Sunday homework, showers, etc. before an early night ready for school and work.

ssd · 11/02/2024 09:51

Morning @lucysmam and everyone here. I was working and missed yesterday's thread. Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well @lucysmam , and all the posters here feeling under the weather. Ds has been feeling awful with it this week but luckily he's on the mend.
Im still in bed, had my tea and a hot cross bun for a change, now am soon to have a tottie scone yum!

Weather here miserable as usual.
I'm not a sun worshipper at all but even i am looking forward to a nice bright spring day.

Have a good Sunday everyone x

RabbitsRock · 11/02/2024 10:12

Good morning lucysmam & everyone. Still in bed & not long finished a cuppa (Yorkshire tea) made by DH. Can hear DD15 on the phone to her GF - she sometimes talks to her in a baby voice which makes me cringe! Might have bacon, eggs & fried bread for brekkie in a bit. Fancied it yesterday but couldn’t be bothered! Need to sort the washing/drying. DD put about 8 throws & blankets at the top of the stairs - she hasn’t grasped the concept of putting dirty stuff in the machine. It’s dry here so I might actually get some stuff out on the line. Dishwasher needs doing & I didn’t bleach the kitchen surfaces yesterday so will do them too. Easy tea of chicken kievs, jacket spuds & petitpois. Will watch Call The Midwife tonight.

daffodilandtulip · 11/02/2024 10:15

Morning. Just on my first cuppa, haven't been awake long. It's in silence but that's only because DD has been up before me and is now back upstairs studying 🙈. We went to a uni day yesterday and it was a loooong day! And it's been a very stressful week so I think I needed a good sleep.

Got a few bits of craft to prepare for this week, then an old friend is popping in later for a coffee. Dog walk and evening roast then I think. DS has gone away to stay with great grandparents for the week so it'll be quiet!

Decafflatteplease · 11/02/2024 10:16

Morning @lucysmam and all!

Settling into the half term here 🙂

No plans this morning, DC are playing, DH and I just pottering around. Waiting for food shop to come and will get that away.

This afternoon we have my parents coming round later, think we are going to go on a walk and then get a takeaway together, will be lovely.

Have a lovely Sunday all!

2anddone · 11/02/2024 10:17

Good morning
2 1/2 hour drive today to a dance competition near London. It's a National Finals so should be a good day filled with amazing talent.
Then drive home again tonight when it finishes...my alarm will hurt tomorrow!!

daffodilandtulip · 11/02/2024 10:18

@BCBird Diet Coke or apple juice

Penguinsa · 11/02/2024 10:21

Not sure yet. Yesterday we went to the orchid festival at Kew and walked around the gardens and around the high walkway for about 2 hours then a Toby carvery for a roast and took takeaway ones back for DD and DS who were very happy with those and all eaten. DD was supposed to work yesterday but river was flooded but good for her to have a day off as she has been so busy with A level mocks, uni applications etc.

FlorencenotRatchet · 11/02/2024 10:31

Morning @lucysmam and all.
Just been out for my half marathon training. 18km today. That will be my longest run before the big day in 3 weeks.
Just off to pick up a parcel before heading into town for some shopping and lunch.
Enjoy your day everyone.

AdoraBell · 11/02/2024 10:36

Enjoy my first coffee, just made a fresh pot. DH is ironing and nattering with FIL. I’ll do my ironing a bit later. Cooking roast chicken for lunch. Might go for a walk, haven’t decided yet.

Happy Sunday everyone.

Whattheduck · 11/02/2024 10:38

Day 2 of a migraine although not as bad as yesterday
Up early as Dd has gone for an audition for performing arts college won’t be back til tonight
Dh is away with work (New Zealand)
Managed to take the dog for a walk
Currently snuggled on the sofa with the dog
Going to put a wash on and have some toast in a minute
No plans for the rest of the day might go back to bed for an hour this afternoon and listen to a podcast

Beezknees · 11/02/2024 10:40

DS is out volunteering at the riding stables, he does a couple of hours on a Sunday morning which means he gets to go on the outrides for free. He's in GCSE year with ambitions to be a vet so tries to do some work with animals where he can.

I'm going to a class at the gym shortly and will be getting some shopping afterwards.

Penguinsa · 11/02/2024 10:42

Well apparently we are now going to get a Sainsburys click and collect order which I must have ordered middle of the night and forgotten about but it actually works quite well. 😂Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

todayshappening · 11/02/2024 10:44

Morning, I'm taking one of my dogs for a scan today to see if she's pregnant and see how many are in there. Then it'll be a dog walk with the pack and kids. Not sure what's for dinner yet but it will be something quick and then we will catch up with gladiators

PTSDBarbiegirl · 11/02/2024 10:56

Catching up on tv and loving the Jodie Foster show, Night Country. Just had cup of tea, got the 100th cough of the year and blowing nose so staying in, sorting clothes, cooking an easy dinner maybe ravioli with king prawns & tomatoes. Bath, deep moisturise and just relax! Love it.

PlumpAndGrump · 11/02/2024 11:00

Good morning all.

A lazy slow start to the morning here. Coffee and pastries for breakfast. Children happily playing with Lego/toys/colouring.

We are planning long walk in the woods later, weather is dry at least. I have laundry to sort and put away, mostly school uniform so it's done and out of the way.

Later on I am making lasagne for tea with some garlic bread. We need some food shopping at some point too so will need to try and pop to the shops.

Half term is only 3 days here so the kids go back to school on Thursday and I want to squeeze as much in with them as possible but today is our day for just chilling and relaxing. From Friday we have already done cinema, a football match and an inflatable bouncy place. Plans for the week are friend over for a play date, roller skating, and a day out to the zoo. Definitely resting today in preparation. Dh will clean and hoover the car today he says.

Later on when the kids are asleep DH and I will start something new on Netflix, not sure what yet but we finished the series we had to were watching last night.

Have a fab day all.

Thislittlekitten · 11/02/2024 11:15

@DoubleBingo We are end of this week and few days into next week. Really wish had been this week poor DS has had a constant cold since December it seems. Just can’t shake it off. But not ill enough to miss school.

FayKnights · 11/02/2024 11:23

Happy Sunday all!
Hopefully everyone who is poorly starts to feel better soon.
My Asda delivery has arrived so I can get my dinners ready for next week, although DS2 currently in the kitchen making pancakes with his GF. I’m itching to get in there to start but also want to give them space as it’s a small galley!
Dogs need a run, and the house needs a clean and tidy, so nothing too exciting this end.

Baneofmyexistence · 11/02/2024 11:23

Good morning! So far this morning I’ve been for a short run, cooked a chicken for tea later, put a wash on, bleached my tea stained mugs and about to go into town to collect my contact lens order. Making the most of DH entertaining the kids before I’m with them all week for half term! Hope everyone has a lovely day x
