Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone doing today?

I've just made my first cuppa & am going to drink it in my kitchen spot. No-one else is up yet so it's nice and quiet.

I have a very slight hangover this morning after going out out with some colleagues. Think I might drink this brew, have some breakfast, and go back for a nap 💤

We have nothing much planned for the day - I think we're all in need of a quiet, chilled day. The most we'll do is maybe wander to Lidl for some fruit and some squash.

I need to pay a couple of bills online & order a new hoover. Might try out my new paint brushes too.

Tea will be something easy, followed by an early one for me! Dd2 will probably go to bed at the same time then get up to watch someone's stream of Adele from Vegas.

Good morning @lucysmam and all. I went back to work full time out the house this week for the first time in a year, (social work team manager). Was wfh before in a really easy but not well paid job. As a consequence I am knackered but also back to the weekends being for jamming things in, so I was up at 7, went for a swim, back at 9, tried to tidy up a bit and largely failed. Drove dd2 to her nail appointment and I've just whipped around Aldi before I pick her up.
Will walk the dogs when home, then this afternoon we are all 6 going to a sort of new bar /games place to play shuffleboard, darts and Throw axes (the last just the older kids and dh and I). It's hard to find stuff that all kids will do (as they are 10 youngest to 18 oldest), so hopefully that will fit the bill. Back home for gladiators /michael McIntyre and then I want to pot up some seeds to go in the greenhouse later.

I didn't want to go back to work full time and in a full on job (but had to as our mortgage is about to rocket) and this level of activity is exactly why!!

I need to reacclimatise myself to it!

Oh but happy lunar new year everyone! I’m going to see where there are dragon dancers this year (our local Chinese restaurant that used to have them every year has closed down). 🐉

DS1 has a swimming lesson in a bit but apart from that we are having an 'inside day's as DS2 has picked up the horrible chesty cough that's going around his nursery class. He's happy making 'dinosaur world' with all his plastic dinosaurs at the moment.
I'm getting on with the housework as we are away for the second half of half term.

Just a general pottering around day today, then later I'm doing a Chinese meal to celebrate ⛩ Chinese New Year. Nothing complicated, dim sum selection followed by beef in black bean sauce, I've got some jasmine tea and fortune cookies too. I opened one at breakfast and it said "A dear friend is thinking of you" so that's a nice start to the day! 🥠 🥠 🥠

Morning all. Lie in this morning as an activity DD was going to was cancelled. Leisurely breakfast of coffee and pastries. Need to wash/iron uniform as DD's school have got another week before half term. She has her swimming lesson this afternoon so we'll probably do a quick Aldi shop whilst out for that. Not sure what we'll make for dinner but we'll watch Gladiators later. I'm aiming for an early night as can feel a cold coming on and next week is going to be stressful

I was looking for fortune cookies yesterday but couldn’t find any. Got panda bao buns from M&S though!

@JackieO22 7 of us tried to watch it last night, after several drinks 🙈 It was like watching with a load of small children talking over it 🤣🤣

Morning all, I’ll be taking my son to his Saturday club then my daughter and I will probably go for a wander around the shops and have a bit of lunch. I’m too-ing and fro-ing about getting my nose re pierced, I’ll need to make my mind up soon as I’ll probably need an appointment 👃

I got up at 7.30 (a lie in with an LO) and did aerobics 9-10. Now we are going to soft play then I'm gonna buy some paint for our bedroom

What hoover are you getting @lucysmam ? We just got a shark and it's rubbish-im sending it back. When you turn it off it spits out loads of bits it just hoovered up!

@piscofrisco we have a shark and think it's good.

It does spit out bits at the end of a vacuum sometimes but only when the tube is blocked and it's the easiest vacuum I've ever come across to unblock.

Oh! Maybe I'll have a poke up its tube then!

I came on this morning so I'm very agitated and miserable right now. Everything and everyone is pissing me off. Stomach and back cramps the lot. Urgh!

Going to jump in the shower and wash my hair then we are off to view a house and check out the local pub for some food.

This evening I'm planning on getting the kids to bed for a decent time and carrying on with my Timothee Chalamet movies obsession

I’ve been suffering with Covid for 10 miserable days and finally woke up today feeling more normal! At last! DH and DS left me to have a lie in and then we had pastries for breakfast. We haven’t got any plans so I’ll potter around the house because it’s been quite neglected recently. MIL is going to pop in for a coffee at some point. DS is happily gaming and chilling. Might try and get us out at some point for some fresh air. There’s a lovely wine shop by the beach so we might head there if the rain holds off for half hour. Generally going to spend the day getting life back together!

I've had my run, coffee, a bloody amazing almond croissant that Dh brought back from the bakery ( to cancel out any positive effects of the run) and more coffee.
A bit of cleaning and laundry this morning, then a walk and visit to my mum this afternoon.
Also need to sit down with ds2 and make a study plan for him after a truly appalling mid year report.
We're at a party tonight that I don't really want to go to - I'm hoping it will be alright when I get there, but don't hold out much hope! I hibernate in winter - would much rather stay in by the fire.

Oooh I had to watch it completely alone - any noise - like DH trying to talk, cough, breathe too loudly and I get really arsey and keep rewinding the 2 seconds of it I didn't catch - control freak that I am 😆
Absolutely loved it! WIthout giving it away, didn't predict at all what happens!!

I've done those a couple of times. It's easy peasy.

DH has gone to the allotment to do some tidying. An inspection is due so he needs to pull his finger out. DD is getting ready for a shift at work, she wasn't supposed to be in but they rang her and asked her to cover as someone has rung in sick. I'll do some cleaning later while everyone is out of the house.

I'll nip out later and grab something for tea as it's just me and DH so will keep it simple. Probably have a nice glass of red wine later and watch a bit of telly.

Hello Everyone. I woke up around 7 and had my new morning drink of fresh ginger, lemon and honey. Gave up coffee for Jan and really pleased I like the new concoction so will stick to it. Have spent the morning moving things out of the wrong rooms and tidying, DS footy was cancelled due to a soggy pitch so he's only just got up and is making breastfast. Other DS is watching TV. DH is taking them swimming later so I can hoover (DS2 is autistic so am not allowed when he's in or he cries).

I'm planning on making ginger beer for the first time as all the shop ones have that weird fake sugar now. The bottles just arrived so off to make the base yeast concoction shortly. A bit scared I'll forget to release the pressure daily and have an explosion but we'll see. Then I might bake a cake (badly). DH is cooking peanut thai curry for dinner then we might watch and movie.

Sitting in the car while DD plays Futsal. DH has already gone out for football, I’m meeting him and DS1 for a drink after the match for his birthday tomorrow 😊

This reminds me of when DH and I ran a village shop which was only closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day (lived above the shop and it didn't stop people knocking mind 🙄). Spent the whole of one Boxing Day in bed watching film after film including Dances with Wolves. We just grabbedchocolate snacks from the shop when we were hungry. It was a mighty day!

Anyway, DH is off to footy and I've just taken delivery of a new tumble dryer so will mostly be catching up on laundry.

I've got a post it note on the back of my phone with a list of stuff to watch that DH wouldn't like. Might pip round to MIL's for a cuppa later and do an online Tesco order.

We're going to ds's house to have a Chinese steamboat lunch with his girlfriend and flatmates. Then we're going to hit TKMaxx.

Good morning-ish everyone, the sun’s shining here!
Out early for a wandering, sniffy dog walk, very pleasant and quiet.
Came back and threw open all the windows while I cleaned the bathroom and dusted/tidied throughout the house. DH went off to B&Q (said it was heaving), has just got back.
Enjoying a bowl of tabbouleh and a fruit salad then I’ll make a coffee and keep reloading the washing machine 🙄, done 3 loads so 1 more to go.
Dishwasher needs emptying and hopefully DH will do the vacuuming before he settles down to watch the rugby, at which point I will go and do some more of my online drawing course 😊

Afternoon all. Not much going on today as we've got FiL's dog for the day/night. Dog has bagged the big comfy chair and is currently on it sleeping upside down whilst snoring his furry little head off.
