What hair colour would you say my daughter is ?

I have lots of people tell me she is strawberry blonde , when she was born she was a bit more red

Is this just blonde or strawberry blonde? She has blue eyes, and strawberry blonde/ red head does run in the family both side, although I don't have it

I feel some days it looks more strawberry blonde , and other days it just looks plain blonde

Strawberry blonde.
Its a beautiful colour.

SweetBirdsong · 07/02/2024 23:56

It looks slightly light strawberry blonde on the first pic, but just regular blonde on the others. So I think pic 1 is the lighting creating the pinkish colour.

My hair colour was that colour (similar to your DD) til I hit puberty, and then it went mid brown. Like from pic 1 to pic 2. Just saying...

That's not actually me. I wish I did look like her (on pic 2!) Young and gorgeous. I was. Now I'm just old and average. Sad

Personally a no to strawberry blonde, it's more a yellow blonde.

Looks ginger to me. Beautiful.

LuckyOrMaybe · 08/02/2024 01:29

I'm amazed at the people who would call this shade ginger- to me that's a term I'd reserve for something more convincingly red all the time, perhaps where photo 1 could be the lightest appearance in brightly lit conditions but more red under others. I'm vote strawberry blonde here too.

My children's hair has been very like mine, blonde as young children darkening somewhat, although actually as teens/early twenties now I think they might be less dark than I was at their age. Which is interesting as they were darker in primary school than I was then (mind you I was outside in Australian summers which they weren't lol). Their father was copper as a child darkening to a slightly auburn brown. We've got some red hints on my side (sister auburn highlights and a red-bearded uncle), I'm going to be interested (well) down the track to see what grandchildren get!

@LuckyOrMaybe i agree, i would not call it ginger

i think I will go wit h her hair being strawberry blonde, with the possibility of it changing (although I would love for it to stay how it is)

There is absolutely nothing wrong with ginger hair, which is what she has, so not sure of the reluctance to call it as it is?!

That’s my feelings on it, it’s ginger, I wouldn’t call it “strawberry blonde” ginger isn’t a bad word no need for fancy terms

Delatron · 08/02/2024 12:48

Ginger hair is beautiful but it’s more red that the OP’s daughter’s hair. She has a lot of blonde in her hair with some warm red tones. I guess if you wanted to be picky you could say it’s a shade of ginger - going from very dark red hair to lighter blonde/red. But I do think strawberry blonde is a more accurate description.

Snazzysausage · 08/02/2024 12:48

I'd say strawberry blonde, a lovely colour.

Delatron · 08/02/2024 12:48

The second and third pictures in particular look very blonde.

Delatron · 08/02/2024 12:50

I don’t think it’s about fancy terms it’s just there is such a huge range with red hair. You can have auburn - is that a fancy term? You’d prefer ginger for that? No because it is brown with warm tones. Some people have pure red hair. OP’s daughter has lots of blonde with red tones.

EasternStandard · 08/02/2024 12:53

The images show a range

Probably why people are saying strawberry blonde, a couple do look blonder

Delatron · 08/02/2024 12:54

Probably time of year. When I was younger I was blonder in the summer and the warmth came through more in the winter.

Thecomfortador · 08/02/2024 13:04

I have a young niece with ginger hair and it is nothing like this. This is definitely a blond, yes one photo looks more strawberry than the others. Nowhere near ginger.

JaninaDuszejko · 08/02/2024 13:52

Blond to strawberry blond. Definitely not red, really surprised how many people are saying that. Red looks like this (stock image):

@JaninaDuszejko thank you for your reply. she is 100% not ginger (like the pic you've shared)
