Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just about to drink my first cuppa of the day, curled up in my kitchen spot. It looks quite grey outside so I won't be moving for a while.

The washer's on for it's first load and there's a second sorted for when that's done. There's also a bit of dry washing on the radiator to fold when I get to it. Other than that, I don't plan to do much around the house today.

We're off for a wander round a local shopping outlet today - I want to nip in the B&M and make-up shops out there. We might get the bus to the big Asda & call into McDonald's for a hot drink, to walk round the lake with, to get there I think.

I'm leaving a stew in the slow cooker for the day, for when we get in, & will cook some part baked rolls to go with it 😋 Hopefully there'll be enough for tomorrow too! I'll have a glass of wine with mine.

Later on I'll pick up my book, or Murdle (still struggling with puzzle 39) & dd2 will probably play with whatever make up she picks today. Dd1 will probably play games online with a boy she likes 😊

What about all of you? 🙂

Morning everyone!

Currently 37 weeks pregnant and fed up of counting the days so trying to do something everyday to take my mind off it!

DD1 is off to her nanas today which leaves me with DD2 (age 2.5). Planned to meet with a friend but she's a bit flakey and it's starting to annoy me tbh!
Will get on top of laundry then head to the farm probably as its not too cold today (10 degree ish)

Anyone hung their laundry out?

ssd · 03/02/2024 09:33

Morning @lucysmam , and sending best wishes to anyone feeling poorly.
I'm in bed having my Morning cuppa and contemplating toast. Dh is emptying the dishwasher god love him, it was rammed full last night. He's going out today and I'll get a text to pick him up later on about tea time. I'm defrosting chicken for dinner later to stop him getting a takeaway as its just a waste of money. Ds still asleep, not sure of his plans to day although i know he's dropping his gf off somewhere later today so I'll go shopping earlier with the car. Beds need stripping too and dehumidifier is on drying 2 loads from yesterday.

The sky looks blue so hopefully get a walk myself later on.

Have a lovely Saturday everyone 😊

lucysmam · 03/02/2024 09:41

@frozendaisy thanks for your help finding paint brushes last night - I've ordered myself a set of 6 for the moment that should be enough for my needs. Could have happily bought lots of things I don't need on that website!

Morning @lucysmam and the Saturday morning club. I'm feeling surprisingly OK for someone who had three glasses of wine last night. I'm lying on the sofa under a fleece balnket for warmth. DCat2 has come over for a cuddle. She's curled up beside me having a nap.

Trying to summon up the energy to hit the supermarket. Also need to work out what I'm going to eat for the next few days. And do the usual laundry and cleaning etc.

Hoping to watch the Scotland v Wales match later.

Have a good day everyone.

Sunnnybunny72 · 03/02/2024 09:43

We're painting the dining room. It's grey and windy but will make the effort to wrap up for a walk later.
Pulled pork something for tea.

mamaduckbone · 03/02/2024 10:01

Good morning @lucysmam and all.
I woke early and read my book in bed with tea for half an hour before my morning run (more of a gentle trot and natter) with my friend - it was actually quite sunny and pleasant today.
I'm meeting another friend and her little boy in town for a coffee, and need to get a few bits including an 18th birthday card for ds1's gf, then watching him play rugby this afternoon before he goes off to her party.
Slow cooker Mexican pulled chicken is going on shortly so that's dinner sorted. Dh is at work and ds2 is having a mooching around day. I think he's meeting his gf at some point but will probably be in this evening.
Have a good day all - at least January is over!

We had a busy weekend last week so just a lazy day here. I've got a load of washing on, the dishwasher is on, the birds have been fed and we've all had eggs and pancakes for breakfast. Everyone is still in pyjamas and I'm going to make a cup of coffee soon and read a while (the Manor House by Jane Holland) and let the kids play and watch telly/play Xbox. It's so nice to not have to drag them out for once.

Kim82 · 03/02/2024 10:06

Good morning everyone. I’ve had a lazy morning so far. I’ve put away the Tesco shop and put a load of washing in but that’s it.

The house is an absolute tip but it’ll have to wait til tomorrow. I’m just waiting for dd9 to finish her breakfast and get dressed then we’re heading to the retail park as we both need new trainers and we need to buy a birthday present for a party she’s going to tomorrow.

Back home for lunch then me and dh are going to my mum’s house while I clean the carpets and he is jet washing the conservatory roof as the estate agent is coming on Monday to take photos to put the house up for sale.

Dd19 is working this afternoon and dd16 has agreed to look after dd9 whilst me and dh are out as we don’t want to take her to my mum’s house as I know she’ll find it upsetting seeing the house empty 😢

We should be home by late afternoon then it’s sausage pasta for tea. Dd16 is off to a party tonight and dh will no doubt go to the pub for a couple of hours so I’ll watch the masked singer and maybe a film after before heading to bed. Dd19 has offered to pick dd16 up from her party so I don’t need to worry about staying awake until after midnight!

RabbitsRock · 03/02/2024 10:06

Taytocrisps you’ve reminded me I need to plan meals for the week then make a shopping list.

Shergill15 · 03/02/2024 10:24

Morning everyone. Usual chilled out start to the day here, coffee and pain au chocolat for breakfast. Usual household chores need doing and I've ordered the balloons for DD's birthday (she'll be 9). Trying to get her to make a birthday list as she keeps changing her mind about what she wants!

DD has swimming lesson this afternoon, we might pop to the little retail park nearby first for a Costa and a browse of the very good charity shop (where I'll have to persuade DD against rehoming every single teddy/beanie baby in there!!). Not sure what we'll have for dinner - might nip into the Aldi on retail park for inspiration. Hope you all have a good day and anyone unwell feels better soon

Morecatsarebetter · 03/02/2024 10:35

Going out with my niece while she tries on wedding dresses ❤️

Soccermumamir · 03/02/2024 10:52

Morning everyone,
Had a lovely long sleep. Clearly needed it. Got up just after 8am, had my coffee ×2 and just finished cleaning and hoovering the bedrooms. Now sat with a 3rd cup of coffee lol

Was meant to be going out with mum, but don't feel great today so will go out next week. A day of rest is needed today 😊

dontforgetme · 03/02/2024 10:52

Good morning @lucysmam and all!

Had 2 cups of tea, put a load in and folded up the dry washing from yesterday. Need to put it all away but scrolling here instead! Have just put some sausages in the air fryer.

Dd is out and ds is being loud and destructive as usual Grin

Some life admin to do this morning then we are heading out on a big dog walk.

At the in-laws for dinner and the football tonight.

Have lovely Saturdays all!

Coffee in bed, first load of washing on, then Parkrun.
Now I'm in the salon getting my hair cut& coloured.
Then food shop, home for lunch, more washing then out in the garden. I still need to take the gable lights off the eaves.
Then weeding and mulching the front flower beds, finish cleaning the greenhouse and if I get a chance, pot sweet peas and the first veg seeds.

Justonedayatatime11 · 03/02/2024 11:23

Morning @lucysmam!

Was up at silly o clock this morning as DD had a riding lesson at 8am. Back there for another at 3.30. Came home to sort the cats out and given that it's dry and the sun is out, let them in the garden for a run instead of just their catios.

Washing on and needs to be put on to dry. Need to nip to M&S and the range before next riding lesson and then home straight after for showers before going out for an Indian.

Hope everyone is having a lovely Saturday

feemcgee · 03/02/2024 11:27

I was at a ball in Inverness last night, currently on the train back to Glasgow, watching the stunning scenery pass me by!

Iamnotaloggrip · 03/02/2024 11:29

Morning!

Usual gymnastics class for DD, I’ve just treated myself to a bacon and egg butty from the caff. Then we’re off to play tennis while the boys go the football. Not sure about tea yet as boys will probably eat out so I might get a pizza for DD and me and eat it in front of Gladiators.

Have good Saturdays all.

Shortkiwi · 03/02/2024 11:34

Up at 8, getting over jet lag from a long haul flight this week.
Had 2 Nespresso cappuccinos.
Breakfast of Greek yoghurt, mango, chia, nuts and seeds. I started making 3 loaves of sourdough after a break of 6 weeks, so far so good. Video call to daughter in Australia. Watched Saturday Kitchen. Generally pottering about and plan to make chicken and mushroom risotto for dinner. Feeling too tired to go for a walk which I should really do!

StarlessSea123 · 03/02/2024 11:42

I love these threads and always lurk on them, they feel so cosy. DH is working today so toddler DD and I have been pottering at home. She played out in the back garden for a while whilst I sorted some laundry, we’re lucky to have a utility which the back door opens into so I can get things done whilst keeping an eye on her. As it’s now raining she’s inside again, we’ve read some books, done some stickering and colouring. Plan to read some more of my book during her nap time, then after lunch we have to go and pick up our Tesco click and collect. I much prefer to shop in person but it’s not easy with a 22 month old in tow so click and collect it is this week! My Saturday seems mundane in comparison to some others lol

CharlotteStreetW1 · 03/02/2024 11:56

Morning all.

I'm on the train into London to meet an old friend for lunch. Probably somewhere in or near Borough Market. Haven't seen her for about 20 years so lots to catch up on. We've exchanged Christmas cards over the years and we always write a note to each other so we know the big events but it will be lovely to see her.

DH is going to football so we'll probably meet up in the pub tonight (depending on result - it's a derby match and we live in "enemy territory" 😬).

Thislittlekitten · 03/02/2024 12:01

Hello all.

Ive just been pottering about this morning. Wash on, dishwasher on. Going to nip
into town soon for a few things.

DH and DS out for a walk just now. We have family coming for tea tonight. Actually must run a Hoover round.

It’s a beautiful day here. Chilly but lovey.

Sorry I thought I could join in with how our day is going, I was thinking that it might be a regulars thread. Apologies I'll ask mn to remove it .

Not morning anymore, which seems to be usual for me now!

We’re picking up our new to us car in a bit, so I can irritate the hell out of my husband by showing him every single feature that it has. We currently have a very low tech van, so I’m quite looking forward to boring him to death.

We’ve been swimming this morning and we picked a present for Grandmas birthday.
